they put the button on the bottom and the hook on the top and the hook hooks into my lip and tears it up and the button popped off within 10 minutes of leaving the ortho. the thing is i’m not even supposed to wear rubber bands yet no it doesn’t matter but the hook still really hurts my jaw and idk what to do 😂

Would it be fair to say that orthodontists prefer invisalign because there is less office time which translates to more profits. Additionally, if there is less than a desirable result, the blame can be on the patient due to compliance issues. This is not meant to detract from the skills or dedication of the doctor.

Hi doc, i have only 4 attachments for my aligners, in that one of the attachments came out. Will it be fine if I wear my aligner without one attachment?

That’s hard if you have lots of attachments. It’s best to use that hook technique on one side then straight away do it on the other side, so both sides are loosened, then take it off your front.

Good info but - you missed a massive point with "convenience" and aligners. I'm 4wks into Invisalign, am in my early 40s, and I wish I'd gone with clear braces. I rarely get to stop for meals during work, plus am naturally a mega slow eater with a poor appetite. So I rely on more small meals to keep up blood sugar etc. Add to this, I have pretty severe ADHD. Having to take out the aligners and clean every time you eat is a huge minus. It's disrupted my eating a lot (I was underweight and had only just gotten into good eating habits) and I can forget to put them back in if I get distracted. Def something to consider!

this looks easy until your dentist decides to replace your thin retainer into a thicker retainer

Every new set of aligners 1st two days are very difficult to remove aligners sorry for bad English 😅

My orthodontist (who is a top 1% diamond provider and has done 1,000s of cases in a large metropolitan city and glowing reviews) said to wear the retainers pretty much 24/7 even when eating and only take them off when brushing. Supposedly treatment only takes a few months vs 1-2 years. What do you think about that

I've been wearing invisaligns a year and a half I only have two slight crooked teeth at the top nothing is working I did not know anything about buttons putting on regular teeth then put on the invisaligns trez getting buttons on your teeth do they work faster

Finished Invisalign now so it’s too late but looking back my dentist never suggested any other option, it just seemed Invisalign was the way to go. I got a further 7 weeks of refinement for my lower teeth but I had to suggest that, I felt he wasn’t worried what happened, he had his money and wanted the treatment to end soon. Just my thoughts looking back

My retainer for the bottom teeth broke into two pieces I read online that you should not wear a broken but on TH-cam I search up broke retainer and one video with 12k views says to still wear a broken retainer so I don't know what to do

I need to get braces tomorrow but after two months i switch to new city, so can you suggest me can i get braces tomorrow or get braces in the new city??

I have a question. Is it supposed to hurt when taking it out? It's my third day and it still hurts a lot when I try to take it out, the catch being being that it only hurts when i try to apply force on the bottom right part of jaw, and it doesn't even loosen up. I need help and my dentist just ignores my problem saying that I am too scared to take it off.

I am loosing my will to continue! I haven't eaten in 22hrs and only take it off to brush my teeth last night and this morning! It's a struggle hill to take it off and put it on. I am loosing my will to continue and I'm only on day 2! The top is easy! But this freaking bottom, 30mins already and It won't budge!!!!!

No issues with the hooks or the buttons, but the rubber bands themselves are digging into my cheeks.

let me answer what men are afraid to ask: which one is more comfortable when you are on the receiving end of oral. braces! they look frightening but they are on the outside surface of her teeth. you wont feel a thing. but with invisalign, you will definitely feel them, since they are on all sides of her teeth. just fyi. she can of course remove them. you're welcome!

Invisalign caused me to get a posterior open bite. 8 years later I'm in traditional braces because my bite is really messed up and front teeth now hit bottom teeth. Yes I wore my retainer after treatment. It never was fit correctly in the first place. Lesson here is go to an orthodontist not just a dentist trained in invisalign.

What about torque direction on teeth. It's a completely different basis for shifting teeth for different applications.

Do you need X-rays? My dentist did not, but on the internet it says it is vital to get X-rays for Invisalign in the beginning?
