      @@GluckOrthodontics hello doctor, does a overjet of 4-5mm require surgery in an adult or can it be treated with invisalign?? Please reply

    Amazing video my man! Very informational, I have a quick question, so I have an openbite, it runs in my family. I'm a bit confused though since my front teeth dont touch my bottom teeth at all, I get confused and don't know if I have an overbite as well? Because naturally my front teeth can't touch with each other due to the open bite, so it's very confusing to know, what is your recommendation?

    Hey is it possible for me to practise normal bite then it can reduce my overjet, I just got my upper braces put on 5 weeks ago and noticing me having a little overbite/overjet habit again not too sure which one but do you think I can reduce overjet by practicing normal bite

    That's helpful. But what would be the normal range of overbite?? I read online 25% is the ideal and 5 - 25% is normal, but alot of other sites say 1/3 is normal (33%) and that normal range is 30% to 50%. So which is the normal range before its considered an excessive overbite???

      Great question. It really depends on the patient's skeletal jaw relationship, but a rule of thumb is ~20-30% is "ideal." There will be variation though based on the patient.

    Hello, after a new dental bridge, because I replace my old bridge I have only a 2mm distance (overjet) between my upper and lower teeth. Is this normal for my front lower teeth to hit a little my front upper crowns of the dental bridge? This happens when I close my bite to check my occlusion

    • @GluckOrthodontics
      @GluckOrthodontics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you for the question. It is normal to have some "contact" between the top and bottom front teeth when you are biting down.

    Hey I have an overjet of about 10 mm. Doctors advised me to do jaw surgery but I don't want to do jaw surgery. I am 18 years old. Can I cure my over jet without jaw surgery

    • @GluckOrthodontics
      @GluckOrthodontics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a great question! It's hard to provide an accurate assessment without a clinical exam and diagnostic records. That said, 10mm of overjet is a large amount and would likely fall into the category of surgery or permanent tooth extractions to correct. Thanks!

    then what is normal

    • @GluckOrthodontics
      @GluckOrthodontics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Great question. It’s different for everyone but normal overbite is a around 25% and normal overjet is 2mm.

    Can a 8mm over jet be fixed without jaw surgery?

    • @GluckOrthodontics
      @GluckOrthodontics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for the question! It’s possible but depends on the patient and treatment plan. It’s more predictable if the patient is growing. Good luck!
