I stopped using CO2 years ago. I carry a frame pump mounted to my frame and the weight doesn't make a difference to me. Another bad thing if you use TPU tubes is they can be damaged when inflating using CO2. With having a frame pump I can help others when they have gone through their CO2 and are stuck without an air source. People that only carry CO2 won't help you if you're in need.
That is a great point man. I have actually never carried a frame pump before. I’m just not a fan of the looks but totally understand the versatility of them.
@@DennisGonzalez101 They look bad on carbon bikes. Another downside among the many of owning a carbon bike.
@@charlesmansplaining yeah I feel you. That’s probably why I never actually carried one 😂
Using a high pressure gas cartridge will continue to be my fastest inflation method. Motorized pumps would suit me for pressure maintenance rather than a hand/floor pump, If I'm away from home. There's a place in my bag for both systems, gas and motorized. What is the weight of three gas cartridges and gas valve vs this pump? ( I can check that myself).
If I’m out on a training ride or group ride I couldn’t care less about what’s faster, I would 100% rather use a pump and not make unnecessary waste by using a co2. The weight of 3 co2 cartridges and the head is a lot more than this pump which only weights 120 grams. Not that I care about weigh since I ride in Florida. If weight is a concern tho you can buy the older version that doesn’t have the display and only Weight around 97 grams
Great review
Thx for watching 🙏.

How are these wheels working out for you? Any update?
Absolutely loving them. Have almost 1000 miles on them 0 issues. I will be making another update video soon.
Enjoyed the video! I have one question for you - how are you scheduling your strength training with TR/cycling? I want to do strength training (mainly squats, deadlifts, and shoulder/back compound exercises) just to be well-rounded. I used to do both TR and gym on the same day, but with my work schedule, this turned out to be unsustainable. At the moment, I am doing alternate days, and I'm keeping volume somewhat low (e.g. 3x5 sets for squats instead of 5x5). I feel fine for now, but of course, doing Threshhold workouts, followed by squats the next day, followed by VO2Max should theoretically compromise on some improvements.
Super helpful information. Thanks for sharing.
Thx for watching. Glad you are enjoying the channel 🙏.
Hey hey, does it have udh?
Yes it does.

What’s your opinion of that bike … with a bit time distance now? In comparison with other bikes you already know. Advantages/ disadvantages ? …appreciate. Thx
Man I wish I had more miles on it 😢. I only rode it that day for like 20 min. It was a demo bike Pinarello had on site. It was amazing to ride but unfortunately 20 min just isn’t enough time to compare it to anything else.
@@DennisGonzalez101 I see. What a pity…Thx anyway
Can you tell us what was the width of the tire and what was the measured width with those wheels with 23 mm internal?
Tire is 30mm and measured 30.2mm.

These are really cool and informative cycling videos! I've never been so involved in a race, and then the awesome details. Dude, 4th place is incredible.

I like long rides !!!
Same here 🙋🏻♂️🫶🏼.
It has nothing to do with cycling, but I love the red door. Gravel is my thing; I'm never on the road. They drive crazy down in Miami-Dade. The Everglades are cool to cruise through; I just wish there were some trees. Love the information about how you prepared and what you took with you. Glad you pushed through and finished!
Thank you so much for the comment and for watching. I also enjoy gravel a lot because of the no car reason as well. I just posted another video yesterday where I did a long ride as well if you wanna go take a look 🙏.
OMG you are my hero. I prefer longer rides. Although my longer is currently 27 Miles LOL
😂😂. That’s where we all start man. Keep it up 🤙🏽.
If I had to pick, it would be Zone 2, sometimes I like to pull up a movie or show while on the indoor trainer to get some more training time in haha Also I saw you mentioned you put carbs into your bottles too, do you bring extra drink mix with you on these longer rides or did you just refill with water? I'm planning on doing my first 100 mile ride soon but not sure how many gels I should bring vs carb mix
Im a big trainer lover myself 😂. Yeah I will cary extra mix sometimes or I just refill with something with carbs like Gatorade or something like that depending on how long the ride will be. As far as how much to carry, I would always say better safe than sorry. Carry more than you think you’ll need. Good luck and your first 100 man crush it 🤙🏽.
@@DennisGonzalez101 I see, that makes sense, thanks!! Good luck with your race!
@@johnnydho thx 🙏
I add Zone 2 riding into my training around the high intensity sessions. You can only do so much intensity and it makes sense to do the bulk of your volume work at effort that's easy to recover from.
Definitely man I do the same. Monday completely off, Tuesday intensity, Wednesday Z2, Thursday intensity, Friday Z2, Saturday intensity, Sunday longer Z2 ride. 3 weeks on 1 week recovery 🤙🏽.
Nice video! Looking strong dude! Lets get it! 🔥🔥🚀
Thx brother appreciate it 🫶🏼🙏.
I’m with you long ride zone two, the only thing I need is your power 😂
😂😂 I’ll sell you some watts man just bring some 💵 to the next ride 😂😂
This ride was first intended to be done on gravel but a small issue with Tony’s bike gave us no option but to do it on the road instead. Nonetheless training is training and we got it done ✅. Will you be at SBT Gravel in a few weeks?
Great video, another strong ride ❤
Thx 🫶🏼.

@@ikersanchez4484 de nada 🤙🏽.
I'm just getting into TrainerRoad and racing on the bike. In terms of pacing...on the race day itself tho, what power zone do you ride majority of the time on a long day like this?
If you are doing it competitively is hard to have a pace strategy because you are trying to hang on to the front group. If for whatever reason you get lest alone then yes you should have a pacing strategy. I was on the main group until I crash then I was on a chase group for the other half of the race pretty much. Is different for everyone tho that’s why I’d important you know what power you can sustain for what duration and consider other things like heat and humidity. Hope that helps.
thunder buddies!
😂🐶🐶
btw I would make fun of someone mismatching the logo and the valve - I would make fun of someone who does not match the tire specifics to the valve (its an easy way to spot them quickly)
😂😂
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13) Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. (Isaiah 55:7) When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (Mark 2:17)
Lost patience after 2 mins, still hasn’t got to the point
That point is to show HOW I SET TUBELESS TIRES. Including starting with a brand new clean wheel with no rim tape. Thx for the feedback tho is much appreciated 🤙🏽.
@@DennisGonzalez101 i already know how to set them up, I just wanted to know what the “trick” with the strap was. Click bait obviously 🙄
@@therealbonj not click bait. If you scroll to the end you will see what the trick is.
I've been running tubeless on mine and my wifes road bikes for a little over a year now. GP5k on Roval CLX and I can mount them without tire levers, but it's a real PITA. So a cheap plastic tire lever like you used is all I need. I do have a shop air compressor and removing the valve core and a quick blast of air will seat the tire every time. I like the strap hack though, nice one. Since switching to tubeless I've had five "failures". First one was a pinch flat hitting a pothole on a decent in a paceline that was not called out in time to avoid it (my wife was the one in front of me too). The other four of them in one week while on a cycling vacation. I learned my lesson about using cheap rim tape, always go with quality tape as two of the failures had to do with that. Next one was a sharp object that my wife hit on the road (glass, rock, or metal) and made a small puncture. The fourth one was on my bike and it too was a small puncture. So baring the rim tape failure, there have been three punctures in a year. The pinch flat obviously required a tire replacement and the punctures were sealed up by the sealent. The one puncture on my tire didn't seal all the way and required a plug, that's where my point is made. Get a DynaPlug and you can plug a tire before it goes flat in most cases and barely miss a moment of riding. I only lost 10lbs of pressure and caught back up to the group and finished the ride. So yeah, you can say putting a tube in only takes a few minutes but you're totally missing the point of tubeless vs tubes. Tubeless will not puncture with a small thorn or in most cases even a larger hole that will indeed puncture a tube. Proper tubeless setup will last longer and be more forgiving than a tube setup. And do not run sealant in a tube, it will not be effective.
Amazing write up man couldn’t say it better myself. I always carry my dyno plug and either C02 or now the cycplus as2 pro pump and a tube just in case I have a major failure and so far haven’t had to use any of them 🤞🏽. Thx for the comment, really appreciate it 🙏.
Awesome video mate!
Thanks 🙏🤝
Same technique and Ryobi pump I use, noice!
good video. you're giving up some watts using the gum wall ("transparent" color in Continental speak) version of those GP5000 S TR's. the black wall version of the same tire tests 2w per tire faster at 18 mph. it would be about 5w per tire at 25 mph. it's a mystery as to why the gum wall version is so damn slow.
Wow 😮 I’ve never heard of that before, that’s crazy. Never buying gum wall again 😂. Thanks.
It takes literally 4 minutes to swap out a tube on a tire including taking out and putting the tire back on.
cool story bro, truly a masterpiece
😂🤦🏻♂️
It absolutely is, maybe it can take less than 4 minutes but you completely missed the point of the video which is to show how easy setting up tubeless is. IMO the benefits you get from a tubeless setup compare to tubes is not even up for debate regardless of the extra few minutes it can take. As long as tubeless is an option I won’t even be going back to tubes.
@@DennisGonzalez101I understand tubeless has several advantages I have them on my newer faster bikes with Disc brakes and the new Wheeltop EDSTX wireless shifters ( I believe Shimano missed the boat on their systems), but I still use tubes, rim brakes tiagra 4700 on my cheap bike builds due to less issues with maintenance and very cheap parts to replace if anything breaks. On the cheap bike a small co2 inflator and 2 tpu tubes on a small bag on the saddle and I am set for all day riding. On the aero bikes it's tubeless setup just different tools for different jobs.
tubeless, you'd probably not get that puncture.
Thank You for the video!!! going tubeless soon
You’re very welcome glad I could help. You’re going to love it.
Where do you get the straps? Does the type have a particular name?
I got these ones from work. Honestly any will work as long as they are around the same width of the tires maybe a bit wider. Idea is to squeezed the tire enough so that the air can’t escape even with the bead still sitting on the middle of the inner Channel of the wheel. Having the type I showed on the video and not the ratchet style ones is definitely a lot easier. Hope that helps.
Same man! Never going back. It is also dependent on tire wheel combo. I run GP5000's on DT Swiss wheels and they will not go on without the use of dish soap + tire levers. First time mounting, it took me 2 hours to figure that out but now I can do it in 5 minutes 😂 Nice tip with the strap, I will take that one with me!
😂😂 awesome. I think first time is always the hardest but after that you get the hang of it pretty quick. I now do them for all my friends as I try to convert them as well. These wheel tire combo was flawless 😊.
Switched to tubeless two years ago. Never going back. After the initial setup, my set up has been problem free.
I been using tubeless for about 1 year now and same thought. Not going back.

What's the point of those spoke holes covers if u don't ride tubeless? Why hustle ? Isn't it better and easier just to put rim tape and put the inner tube?
I do ride tubeless and I did put the plastic cover. I’m sure it protects the rim tape when is under pressure from getting cut by the corner of the holes or blown through because of the pressure. I just never seen them on any other wheels before. I did use them tho
