Great video! I subscribed ✌️ Just started my YT too. I've improved my FTP a lot with zwift, with different excercised Alternating VO2Max and Thresold exercises 💪
They are great and I’m a huge fan of indoor cycling. I do around 80% of my training indoors. Just keep in mind that you will progress very quickly with high intensity stuff like VO2 and threshold but they will plateau eventually so remember to add plenty of easy aerobic Z2 rides. Specifically long ones they are so amazing for your fitness and to get you to that next level.
Definitely feel your pain man. These road just got redone like a year ago and is so smooth and no cars at all I love it. But at the same time riding on flats all the time does get a bit boring 😂. I wish I had some undulating terrain as well 😂.
Haha funny you say that I do run in to them a lot but in my gravel rides. Yeah this road is super nice just a bit far from my house, around 20 miles or so but anytime I have a long ride I go out there.
Thx that is actually I great idea. I will start doing that from now on as well as adding the link to my profile. Here is the link to the actual activity in case you want to see all the numbers etc. I don’t hide power or anything so you can see it all there. strava.app.link/6PeIWAMXqGb
@@podbial thx really appreciate that. I’m working right now on a video that should hopefully be out this weekend where I will go more in depth about my actual training last year and roadblocks i encountered, weight lost and will go over my entire training calendar.
Cool you are training but I thought lactate was waste. Your body does not fuel off it. Your training efforts are teaching your body to dispose of the lactate quicker resulting in better/longer efforts.
Hey great question. Not necessarily our body can simultaneously oxidize a variety of energy substrates including glucose, lactate, fatty acids, and ketones. Lactate is a waste product of our body burning carbohydrates without the presence of Oxygen but that lactate still contains glucose which can be once again used by your muscles or processed by the liver and used by your brain for bodily functions. Lactate is always precent in the body even in low intensity exercise and some enters the cells and tissues where is oxidize and the rest enters the blood and goes to our hearts, liver and kidneys where it gets oxidize for energy production. So essentially what we are trying to do is always teach our body to be more efficient not only by being able to use oxygen more so the production of lactate is less but also be able to process that lactate at a faster rate. Hope I made sense 😂.
There is a mechanism called the Cori-Cycle in the liver, which produces lactate straight into glucose via gluconeogenesis. So no, lactate is not just a waste product of the cell, it's a circle.
@@grettaava1155 thanks. I use garmin virb but is terrible would not recommend at all. They stopped maintaining it and with all the new windows updates it does not work right at all. Map never loads and is very hard to get your data to match the videos.
@@DennisGonzalez101 yeah I used Virb for years. I had to do some crazy modifications to get videos on TH-cam 😂 It’s definitely not easy. I saw that insta 360 has data overlay on app, I might snag one.

So you basicaly go over FTP like a zone 5 or 6 then just under like zone 4 right? I've been doing VO2 and threshold efforts but haven't tried over unders yet.
Hey thx for the question 🙏. So over unders are a type of threshold workout. So to start I would do the under interval at 95% of FTP and the over at 105%. Those are still both within your threshold zone which is Z4 on a 7 zone model. As you progress than you can up the % of FTP for both over and under and yes you will start to get in to Z5 or VO2 zone when doing overs and that is perfectly fine.
Great content and inspirational as well!
Thank u so much really appreciate it 🙏.

Thank you so much that means a lot 😀.
I wish I had long flat roads like that around me to train outdoors. So hard to stay in zone when the road is constantly undulating.

Pretty dope PC setup there bro!

What is your protocol for fueling workouts? Perhaps you could do a video on this.
Thx for the feedback really appreciate it. I have thought about it and I probably will make a video about it in the near future.
Nice looking pavement to train on. Hardly any cars. Was hoping to see some 🐊 or 🐍 in the video
