    I have the zdx 22 Briggs and Riley. On the back under the handle, is a little case for a battery pack. What do you both use this small storage space for? I am trying to find a compact umbrella that may fit. Or a nice raincoat or rain cover for my luggage/backpack.

    Hello! I just found your channel. You're obviously very experienced travelers! Busan sounds like Pusan because the Korean language doesn't differentiate. The name is 부산 where ㅂ sounds like a combination of our B and P sounds. 😊 The spelling is just for foreigners who use the Latin alphabet. Looking forward to more Korean videos!

    • @FindingGinaMarie

      Thank you so much for watching, Angela and for your insights! From what we read, Busan uses RR (Revised Romanization), "which uses only the English alphabet without diacritics, so as to use the QWERTY keyboard, which is the standard for English computers in Korea and throughout the world." Not sure how accurate that is or not, but it is one of the several points we read about. It's always fascinating to hear the evolution of language. We are looking forward to sharing two more videos from South Korea over the next two weeks, and we hope you enjoy them! -Judy

      Thank you so much for this comment and for watching! We absolutely loved our time in Seoul and our big regret was that we didn't get to spend more time there. It was much different than we thought. According to what we read, we thought it would be more hectic and chaotic (similar to NYC or Tokyo), but instead we found it much more peaceful and diverse in the best of ways. We loved our time in South Korea! -Judy

    Thank you so much for this thorough video -- I really appreciate it! Very well-done and informative -- and a lovely website! In need of a suitcase for my first trip (two-week holiday!), and prefer having a carry-on (scared a checked one would get lost 🥺). I thought that particular Briggs and Riley suitcase looked small on their website, but seeing how well you guys pack, I think I can manage! This is the best video I've seen going over the suitcase I am looking at, and I also learned a lot more about traveling/packing from you guys -- I can make a better choice, now. Thank you 😊. If you guys have ever used United Airlines and done this, did you ever have an issue when bringing on the suitcase in this video as your carry-on, and your backpack as a personal item to go under the seat? Specifically, I like Kevin's 20L backpack overall, but also curious about Judy's experience with her backpack. I'm thinking of doing this, but both backpack's dimensions are a bit larger than the maximum allowed personal item size, and I'm not sure how strict United actually is about that.

    • @FindingGinaMarie
      @FindingGinaMarie วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you so much for watching and for the compliment! We have been really happy with our Briggs & Riley suitcases. We do stuff ours pretty full! United especially has never been an issue with these suitcases. They perfectly conform to size restrictions. Our biggest issue is on discount airlines because of weight, not because of size. Both of our backpacks also fit under the seat. Viet Jet was the only airline that ever weighed our backpacks, and fortunately it was not an issue (and it was only on one of our flights). Generally speaking if you are wearing it, no one is going to give you an issue. Mine is actually slightly longer than Kevin's, but it still fits under my seat, and we both have ours loaded with a water bottle and an umbrella and it still doesn't make either of them too wide. A link to our gear guide is here: GEAR LIST: findingGinaMarie.com/gear Also, this video you just watched is most accurate about what we are carrying, how we pack, etc., but you can watch our original packing video when our suitcases were new because Kevin goes into a little more depth about some of the Briggs & Riley features. There's a table of contents in the description if you want to skip around. We are happy to answer any questions at all about what and how we pack and travel! -Judy 🎥 How we pack (2023 version): th-cam.com/video/JT_tUoub4f0/w-d-xo.html

      We know "of" K-Pop, but really don't follow it. But we are really seeing how important it is to the culture here (and K-dramas)! We are confused by Seoul. We aren't finding it nearly as hectic as we expected it to be. Definitely not as laid back as Busan, but we thought it would be an equivalent to Tokyo, which we aren't seeing as the case. For your next, longer visit, you should cosider using Turin as your base to visit all of Piedmont. There are so many amazing things to see (and taste 😋). Even just staying within the borders of the Metropolitan City of Turin (Turin's extented municipality) you have things such as: - Fenestrelle Fortress, the largest alpine fortification in Europe (dubbed the "Great Wall of Italy/Europe"). - Venaria Reale, the Savoy's royal residence just outside of Turin. - The "Palazzina di caccia di Stupinigi", which translates to "small palace for hunting in Stupinigi" but is actually a mini-Versailles (as is Venaria). - the Sacra di San Michele (Saint Michael's Abbey), a beautiful medieval fortified abbey perched on top of a peak watching all of Susa valley. It was the structure that inspired Umberto Eco to write The Name of the Rose. - Superga's hill, with the homonymous Basilica, funicular, natural park and observatory/planetarium. - The huge castle of Moncalieri, overlooking Turin from its hill. - The Museo dell'Automobile (Automobile Museum) and the nearby Lingotto (FIAT first factory, built in the 1910s/20s) with its rooftop test track. - So many natural parks: Gran Paradiso park, Great Woods of Salbertrand park, the Avigliana lakes one and many others.

      Hi Nancy, Thanks for watching and for this idea. We're not quite ready to slow our pace down by much in order to add on these great suggestions because there still is so much of the world to see. But it's definitely a strong consideration when we need to slow down a bit more, even temporarily. We've done a great job since this video was released to have slower travel for the last seven months, where we stayed between 30-42 days in each place. Our pace will pick up a little out of necessity in order to connect with family and friends, but otherwise, we are committed to seeing fewer cities/countries in a year in order to have a more relaxed pace. It's been working for us very well. I did try to learn German when we were in Austria, and Kevin and I both are learning Italian (I work with a tutor twice a week, except during travel weeks). Your suggestions are great ways to more deeply connect with the people we meet. People truly appreciate when tourists/visitors take the time to learn a few words or sentences and speak in the local language. -Judy

      We stayed for an entire month. Here's a link to our full series of videos where we share everything we did and what we spent. We stayed an entire month in Egypt, but this will give you an idea. They do have "American" toilets. In public places like the airport and at the archeological sites, you often will have to pay someone £5-10 Egyptian (less than 25 cents US) to use the restroom and they will give you a bit of toilet paper (which needs to be dumped in a can next to the toilet, but the toilets have seats and do flush. Kyoto is cool just realize you cannot possibly see everything... and yes there are tourist traps... waking up early is your friend. I also stayed at Forza. It was pretty fun. I didn't do the sake or coffee, but its right next to a Dotour so you can get great matcha in the morning and coffee. The location is the reason to stay there. I also liked that 7/11 is right across the street. The 1-ply TP though, they need better TP in the rooms. LOL. I went to Fushimi Inari at night (very few people there), and Arashiyama at about 9:30, but not many people were at the end of the trail, as we approached from the backside park, vs the front.
