Wall-e running at full speed!
We're finally confident enough to have the robot (Wall-e as he's been named) running at full speed in and out of the machine to load and unload parts. Now I know why these industrial robots must be enclosed in a safety cage.
It would knock you to the ground in a heartbeat and just keep right on going!
After having the robot run at much, much slower speeds, it seems lightning fast now! The downside we find is that during the movement, the servo's make a whistling sound, and the guys in the shop always get caught off guard and think someone is doing it to get their attention!
These parts are a component of an aluminum hinge system assembly we manufacture for one of customers, and typically run in lots of 150pcs several times a year. On the next order we will be sure to produce a years worth of product in this automated machining cell, and ship from inventory rather than from an estimated lead time. This will cut costs and increase profits in two ways. One, by buying more material at a reduced cost due to the need for a higher quantity, and second by manufacturing these parts in a single set-up rather than several individual set ups throughout the year.
I can see this scenario playing out with several of the repeat production jobs we do throughout the year that have a proven sales record and with their longevity out in the field of service have little chance of being revised!
Enjoy!

    This is a great starting point but as mentioned before, this needs to be palletised so you have multiple parts per cycle, but also why is the robot not ready with a new part when removing the completed part, it looks like it has two holders on the head

    I totally agree wit NicoThe Animal...with 10+ tool changes you have more time changing tools that cutting...a Pallet with 4 to 20 parts makes much more efficient use of time/machine and that machine setup is prefect for a Pallet.

      That is a soft rubber mallet head. It drops down onto the blank in the vise and compresses slightly on the top of the piece. The vise then cycles open and close and it seats the piece onto the locating surface if for what ever reason it went into the vise not level.

    I need to buy a compressor to replace my old one so i want to upgrade. My problem is this new one has amps I’m not sure that my electric for my old compressor will hold. Any advice? Any is welcome and appreciated. I’m buying from northerntools.com and it’s a Emax industrial plus silent air 10hp 2-stage , 80 gallon vertical air compressor with silencer 230 volt , 1 phase. Model# ESP10V080V1. All it tells in specs is operates at 40Amps, suggests 60amp breaker and it takes 80amps to start. I have at home 8/2 Romex that i was told is good for 45amps. I have 50amp 2 pull breaker and i was told that will be fine the 60amp is just a suggestion. My real worry is this 80amp start up. I’m not a electrician and don’t want to burn down my house or shop.

    we don't use this type of air piping. We use threaded pipes and fittings. and only use a airhose between steel piping and the compressor.

    • @mythril4
      @mythril4 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      HDPE over Aluminum over HDPE? That stuff is miles beyond any metal piping. While it is still metal in one layer, you can beat the snot out of it, flex it around things without fittings and the best part is, it stays pure all the time. At no point do you get any forms of corrosion or buildup. Any water that builds up is very clean and much less harmful to what it flows through. It has a very smooth interior which means flow rates are twice that of steel or copper in a smaller diameter.
