There is a very odd pitch of thread on those jockey wheel clamp bolts. It's a 1.75 or 1.5 mm pitch! I don't think that bolt was 100% right as I've tried several times to get a bolt the proper thread and a tap to suit. Ended up buying a proper kit with a plate to sit into the rips on the jockey wheel!

That's an interesting brake setup. I've got electronically controlled brakes (US, if it makes a difference), there's a box mounted on the dash that controls them.

Spoke to a guy the other day and he has been using the Cottercrate for a few about 3 years or so. He's having fierce trouble getting the sheep up the ramp and into it now, as they don't like being dropped down every time. Have you noticed any hesitance yet?

You would have been better running a tap in the threaded hole after seeing the state of the thread on the old locking handle. That pylon line bolt that Robbie kept from his working days knowing it would come in handy might get tighter. I sure he will have plenty more, Hahaha.

My wife and I are not on the land David, we live in Melbourne, Australia, but we love your videos... Sheep, Engineering, lovely wife and gorgeous children.... but we especially enjoy seeing Robbie.... A true Gentleman with a great sense of humour. 😂

the pro and con's of early lambing - when you show one of the 2025 years lamb they are just that little bit older and bigger - you get to the market early are the prices better - if you need to additional feed do you have enough hay - when does you ground warm up (normally) - what has the weather been doing over the last 5 years over that period to see if it has settled as it seams to before spring (windows without rain) - we had a spring snow storm here in NZ this year and as we lamb outside that did cause a bit of a problem both in loss of lambs and the ground getting cold again slowing down the grass but this does happen
