Easy Rosemary Garlic Focaccia Food Truck and Street food recipes
Ingredients
Store bought pizza dough or make your own
½ cup (120 ml) extra-virgin olive oil
2 garlic cloves, finely minced
1 tbsp chopped fresh thyme or 1 teaspoon dried
1 tbsp chopped fresh rosemary or 1 teaspoon dried
pinch fresh ground black pepper
flaked sea salt
Instructions
preheat the oven to 450f (232c). In a cold medium skillet, combine olive oil, minced garlic, thyme, rosemary, and black pepper. Place the pan over low heat and cook, stirring occasionally, 5 to 10 minutes or until aromatic, but before the garlic browns. Set aside.
Use some of the garlic-olive oil mixture to oil a 9-inch by 13-inch rimmed baking sheet (22-by-33-cm). Transfer the dough to the baking sheet then press it down into the pan. Use your fingers to dimple the dough then drizzle the top with more of the garlic olive oil mixture. Let the dough rise for 20 minutes until it puffs slightly. Sprinkle with flaked sea salt.
Bake until golden brown, 15 to 20 minutes. Cool baked focaccia bread on a wire rack. Enjoy!
Focaccia is the great classic of Italian street food. It dates back to ancient Rome. It is most commonly associated with the region of Liguria, on the Mediterranean, a crescent-shaped region in northwest Italy. Its Mediterranean coastline is known as the Italian Riviera, Genoa is the reginal capital. Each small village all this coastline seems to have its own favorite recipe, from flat and hard bread to soft, light, and loaded with the local fruity olive oil and is often topped with rosemary and/or thyme. This region of Italy is also known for it’s Pesto.

    In the vid you said..."one pound of butter and i use half the salt". What does that mean? Is there a salt amount left out of the recipe or do i use salted butter or unsalted butter? Thank You! I am going to try these tonight...im going to use half sugar and half erythritol and stevia...anybody know if that works?

    • @themessycookbydale414
      @themessycookbydale414 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Cindy..the recipe calls for salted butter, In Canada we can get unsalted butter, and half salt butter as well as full salted. I choose to use half the salt to cut down on sodium. I hope that helps..thanks for tuning in. I would suggest that if you use unsalted butter add a pinch of salt to the recipe.

    I warm up my milk, less one 1⃣ cup for mixing custard. I dissolve custard in the cup of milk then add it to the hot milk while stirring continuously with whisk. When custard begins to thicken i add sugar and vanilla, after all sugar will dissolve quickly, sometimes i will add white chocolate melts to give a rich creamier texture.

    I just read through at least 50 of the comments and did not see this info sooo: Bulk Barn 🇨🇦sells fruit sugar AKA Berry sugar AKA caster sugar near the bins of regular granulated white sugar. It is at least twice as expensive as regular granulated, though! Sooo, you can make your own by blitzing/pulsing regular granulated about 29-30 seconds in a processor. I’m on a quest to make a shortbread with the texture of Walkers. Perhaps this kneaded dough will be ‘it’! Thanks for your excellent demo and tips!
