Brother you are supposed to do the weapon masteries and get the stats for your weapons lol, that's literally the point of the RPG aspect of the mod.

I personally just dislike how weak you are for the whole entirety of the game. I'm a vampire, and regular ol' joes do like 30 more damage then me. I just feel so weak all the time.
Yeah this game is moreso geared towards "skillful" combat and not face-tanking enemies. Definitely a learning curve
Hello Timmy. I respect your opinion. I've seen some of your other videos. You're very good at this game and very knowledgeable. Maybe it's because I don't do PVP and I don't have that competitive mindset. But I must say I vehemently disagree about removing the RNG from the process of getting gear. Without it, every vampire feels the same and every run feels the same. Sure, the path to getting there might be a bit different if you do advanced things like you mention (skipping bosses and so on). But without RNG it's all so predictable. "Okay, when I am level 30 I know I will have this. At lvl 40 I will have this. I will go there and kill that guy, and then I will have this." If anything, I would add MORE randomness. Like oldschool Diablo vibes. That's what I would like to see more of. And you see it differently. That's cool. Imagine if oldschool MMO's like WoW had no random drops. You know exactly what you will have access to at what level, you just need to farm the mats. That would have been so bland in my view. But there, the RNG was more tolerable to people of your sentiment. I think it was because starting over on new characters was not so common for people that were focused on experiencing end game content. In V Rising, you are greatly incentivized to start over again and again if you're not playing on private servers (like I am). And that makes the RNG and grind feel heavy. Like entering a CS server where having anything but pistols and knives takes time and luck. But that's what you sign up for in this game as a speed running PVP player. At least with the way things are for now. Personally, what I think the game needs most is more interesting NPC's all around. Dialogue. Agency. Personality. Whatever happens, let's all agree that Stunlock have made a great game! I hope they succeed in catering to different types of players. Thanks for your videos Timmy!
Hey there thanks for the comment. I will say that I don't think removing ALL randomness from drops is a good thing. My issue is that there is simply far too much variance in the randomness, to the point that it is functionally impossible to get a "perfect" weapon in the game, and therefore pushes players from both PvE AND PvP to lean towards Orange weapons instead of getting their own "perfect" combination. This is, imo, dumb game design in a game that is design with multiple runs in mind. It's also why I think adding the Fusion Forge is a great first step in managing things. Regarding adding more RNG, I'd have to full on disagree in the context of the current state of the game. Keep in mind that in a PvE context, there is already enough RNG in the game to force you to spend literal months of grinding to get everything you could want with even "decent" stats. Adding more in this context only furthers the gap between Orange items with fixed stats and Purple items. As fun as getting drops in WoW and OSRS are, this game is simply not the same genre. If it was, they would have designed it in a way that made force wiping servers not a thing, to say nothing of the Survival elements and castle hearts decaying. They want an "end" point to the game, and introducing even more excessive RNG would definitely take away from the experience/"power fantasy" at end game. And finally, if you are playing PvE, there is nothing stopping you from playing/using whatever weapon type, infusion, etc that you want. It makes sense that we would rush for the best weapons in PvP, but in PvE, play w.e you like. Changes to that randomness will do little to affect your overall experience unless they entirely remove it all together.
RGN is a disgrace in games. I loved battlerite because it didnt even had critical strikes. it was plain skill, no luck. now, vrising has a ton of stupid rng for unlocking stuff and it is disgusting.
I like the endgame events since they attract pvp and keep the server alive...is what I would like to say but as soon as a group gets ahead in gear, nobody else ever tries to contest them. Instead of everyone ganking on the lvl 91s and taking their gear/mats everyone leaves them alone so they grow more and more in power until its joever.
Yeah it's good in concept, but terrible in execution. There needs to be PvP and I even think incursions COULD work, but the issue is they gate the most important part of progression, and feel awful when there's even a single dominant clan

This one isn't arbitrary. It's there to prevent making inaccessible parts of a castle, and primarily for PvP/raids. It is annoying that they don't have unique building rules for PvP vs PvE

Yeah it's right around there. Essentially, once you have to upgrade your dawnthorn, the grind becomes significantly worse and one dimensional. Grind goldsun->check shop -> buy recipes Over and over until you have what you need
@ oh it’s not even that lol. For me it’s making the material. To make the rest of the sanguine weapons… new to the game first run through I am lvl 80. It’s hell… you need to make like 6 pieces before you can make the piece for the guns lol

I think weapons would be nice for sure. We already had a "teaser" for a dagger in the gloomrot patch that didn't seem to make it into 1.0, however the dagger the enemy in this dev update they shared seems like the same type of dagger, so that may be something we'll get. Spells would be good as well since it could make for some very interesting meta changes and ways to play. I think balancing the existing stuff would be very important first and foremost. I also want to see the amulets we have revisited. Some are overwhelmingly better than others

There's some really good strats around dunley and cursed forest, but end game will always be slow in 1.0 patch since we have to farm for recipes now. You can def do early shard boss clears, but they aren't nearly as good as they once were since without upgraded armor recipes we can't actually use the drac armor pieces
Crazy is that I in fact used behemoth layer as the only sourse of shrooms. And only now because of you I remebered that witch huts do exist XD
Haha yeah, honestly it hasn't really been until 1.0 that I ever cared about where they were. Used to be that you only really needed about a single stack to reach endgame armor, and you could get them all passively just by hitting shrooms when you saw them while doing other stuff in cursed forest
Tried that Leandra cheese strat and I can tell you she has now become the easiest boss in the game, even on Brutal! Thank you!! 👻💟
Nice! Yeah it def makes her super easy, and since it's easy to get the mats to make the pendant, it's a great strat
Beat the game once never came back but i got like 200-300 hours Kind of hate the shards of end game especially on a PVE private server could do without that entirely.

Yeah this was made before I knew about Siren's Wail GS combo. Wings is not top tier though imo. It's good enough in scholar builds, but certainly not top tier
@@terribletimmy2 i believe several pros use it, as its superior movespeed under E makes the stuns and dodges a bit more reliable. And you also have the option of the curse, which doesnt break frozen status shield under scholar blood

You can, especially on normal mode. Brutal it becomes significantly harder.
@@terribletimmy2 this is true. The stat that less than 1 in 5 people have ever died to another player is also crazy. Idk how people play this game in PvE or solo more than once
My idea for specific legendary weapons would be certain bosses. Like how Dracula has his own area they could make beating a super strong boss give you said weapon. Like beating a buffed up Simon could give the Morning Star. Have the bosses use the weapon we are trying to get.

Endgame is definitely super rough if you're joining a server late. A lvl 87 player fighting a 91 player with perfect gems + weapons is just ridiculous. Its not just damage, its also things like access to much higher movespeed, cc combos (sirens wail for example) unusable for 87 players, damage reduction and cc lines on gems. Bug fixes would be a good gesture too. They can release an update with banger visuals and cosmetic changes but its been around half a year since 1.0 and there are still a ton of well known bugs / balance issues that haven't been addressed.
Yeah there's a bunch of stuff that shoulda been fixed for sure. Crazy we're still sitting here waiting on stuff that could've been changed months ago
Nice strat, learned some tricks from it. Wondering how do you go from the lvl 50 forward - for Dawnthorn you need Anargam, Ungora and Ben - would be doable with some practice, but you still need merc iron for silver/ghost crystal. Also the amount of materials ramp up a lot in part4 - so proper flooring is a must. Need to try this strat at some point ;)
There's a bunch of stuff you can do at this point. The thing about this stage is you can technically clear/farm everything with just a merc iron weapon/pistols. I'll probably make a run for this at some point
I did this run like 6 times already (~15 if i count segments), i'm always finishing at 2hrs x). I really thought you were chilling in your video, but damn you are actually insane. I got rnged multiple times by Unsullied hearts and not looting enough iron ingots. Cursed villages are pretty hard also, i always die at least 4 times or take too much time to lose aggro. But in the end, it's pretty fun, thanks for the video !
Hey thanks, glad you enjoyed it! And yeah, this method is super rough if you get screwed by RNG. Iron can be fickle, but it you take the time to just loot everything, it's generally very consistent. At the most you'll need a 3rd run to the first village, unless you just get entirely screwed. Also, keep an eye out for chests, as they seem to have a much better drop rate for ingots. Sometimes you get super lucky and get like... 32 ingots on 1 village, but that's fairly rare. And yeah, unsullied hearts can be brutal, but one way I found to recover in that front is the fact Beatrice, Quincey, and Grayson the armorer all have 100% drop rates on them. If you got totally screwed and have zero hearts by the time you have to kill Quincey, kill Grayson first -> Quincey -> iron weapon-> Beatrice -> Grayson and you'll 100% have 4.

The weapon fusion is one of a few exact feedbacks I gave in the Beta for 1.0 and discussed in the discord for it way back 😂. I just knew it would be way too many layers of RNG for most. At least now we can take one layer off, and once you find something you have been wanting, you know you can make use of it! Ever since 1.0 hit live, more and more people have been feeling similarly. 😎
Yeah, really just some way to control it is a good idea. Fusion I think is the best way, since it means every weapon drop is another relevant opportunity to get closer to a perfect weapon. Being able to actually work for it instead of having to get a 1 in a 100 million chance is a good change

great game not enough content.
I only plat PvE on a private server so I can't speak to the PvP issues. but even I felt frustrated by the rng late game. Not only do you need ludicrous amounts of Shards but you need those large amounts for too many things. That stage of the game was the only point where I felt the need to lower the prices of shops and crafting just so I could get through it faster and I still needed to farm alot. Its just way to poorly balanced and it sucks because everything else in the game is almost perfect. If I had to provide a solution I'd suggest "optional crafting materials" where when making something whether it be tier 4 jewels or ancestral weapons you could add extra ingredients that would create a guaranteed outcome. Like if you add a perfect Topaz you will 100% get max attack speed on the weapon and allowing you to do this for every available RNG slot. Allowing you to custom craft your weapon as much as you want as long as you have the resources to do so. You'd still have the RNG but players could chose to spend extra resources to get rid of it.
Could be interesting, but I think the fusion forge will fix this issue

I think PvP / regular players draw a short stick in this issue, because RNG in legendaries is made with first time PvE players in mind. V Rising is very complicated to balance both as a standalone solo expirience and regular PvP servers with wipes. Overall I think Stunlock made a great job keeping a balance, but issues like legendaries farm for each server will arise all the time because developers have to prioritize solo first time PvE expirience as it is probably the biggest % of players by a margin. EDIT: IMO PvP in V Rising can not be sustainable, it's not a Battlerite, it's fun as addition for progression, but lategame PvP, while still better then pre 1.0, still too demanding of your time with raids and insane farm of resource, even beside legendaries. So making much more deterministic ways to get legendaries may not fix the late game PvP, but it may hurt a first time progression of the game for new players
So the thing about PvE players is even with less RNG, the people playing a single time wouldn't know the difference anyway. It actually doesn't make sense to make it that way with them in mind. Also, it's actually pretty simple to make PvP sustainable, but it just depends on if the devs want to put in the effort. The recent update about player Arenas coming actually has insane potential if modders can figure out how to take some of the features and put it in open world areas. PvP becomes incredibly interesting the more opportunities you have for mixing up/adding things to fresh wipes. If we had more tools to do that, PvP would be god tier content/replayability
I gamedevelopper soul is hurt. You can't see the bigger picture if you are involve with the game. PvP is not accessible, there are no build or synergie in coop. Everyone runs every weapon. That brings the game a street fighter level of commitment just to do pvp. The current 1k player that still plays needs to be forgotten and if you want more people playing you need to lower the amount a practice it takes to have fun. Unless they limit the number of weapons this game will not recover.
Eh, I actually disagree. PvP is accessible for anyone interested in trying. People just assume that it will take them 6 months of learning to get good at it, but in reality it's not nearly that hard
The weapons share cds so you're only realistically using 2 weapons at a time anyway. Most people just have a go too combo where you're pushing like 4 buttons it's really not hard.

True but also this is only the first dev update. They usually give multiple updates with leaks and details between updates. Unless they decide that 1.1 will be a very minor update, you can expect to see way more than this

Idk. In the image for the fusion forge, its 2 crafted weapons, not just the shards. These purple weapons are expensive to craft, so now youll need to farm 3 to 5 purple shards at minimum to get your ideal statlines, then spend extra hours farming gold and silver and blood crystal etc. Its cool that you can do it but i dont think it will be a 'reasonable amount of time' as you suggest. Unless im just misunderstanding and you can fuse shards
True, but as it stands now, it is, in all practicality, impossible to get a perfect weapon that isn't an artifact. This at least makes it possible to get one
Pretty solid changes but it still doesn't address the huge stat gap that purple/legos offer. This only makes it so the gatekeepers can fusion forge and get further ahead lol. I just feel like the duel and arena addition would have drastically helped keep the population they once had. Will remain somewhat hopeful though
Yeah if they can make the update big enough to pull people back, then it may stay alive a little longer.
If they ever ran out of map space, You could bring a time travel portal or something into a later or earlier version of the map, like Dracula had a time machine or something (i think there was something about that in Castlevania series on netflix if I weren't mistaken)

Besides those cosmetics for the weapons? that could actually spice up some late game loop maybe, speaking of which, If they can figure it out, ruins was a nice addition to a loop idea for starters
I love the legendarys but I rarely get them instead of when I do the tier 2 rifts i get more books then anything but i already have everything learned so theres no point in getting the books or scrolls. But the legendary say for reaper I dont use summoning i wish i could change the spell effect on the legendary
Yeah some of the effects I wish I could change. If they introduce less RNG, then that could make room for more artifact weapons

LOL I completely agree with your assessment of the divided groups of PvE, PvE, and Solo Players. I wish the arena/dueling was around sooner. If this was out when 1.0 came out, I probably woulda tried PvP earlier.

I think it would be good if the "fusion forge" was available for blue LEGOS not just purples. That and the fusions should have some sort of a cost to it not just item's themselves.
Would be nice for blues for sure. Not too sure on the fusion cost, since you're already having to spend stygian shards on a second weapon shard until you get the stats you want, and then Mats for a Dark Silver weapon+Sanguine weapon+3 Onyx tears to make that item before merging it.

You have very much missed the point it seems. Dueling and Arenas aren't turning anything into a "sweatlord playground" This change doesn't affect PvE in any way if you don't want it to. Simply refuse to duel or fight in an arena. For those PvE players who ARE interested in trying PvP, this gives them a gateway to that world without feeling like they're going to get stomped by the sweatlords you think inhabit PvP servers.
@terribletimmy2 The game will have 5k players for the fourth time after a month or two, mark my words. I'm convinced that devs are out of touch at this point. It seems that they don't know how to improve replayability and retain a healthy playerbase. I'm not a PVE player btw. Also, sweatlords are important for the ecosystem. The problem is that if they don't give players ways to fit in or to express themselves then the sweatlords will make the rest quit. So, listening to your advice is actually a bad idea.
@@Miuacc-xr7dt I would argue that PvP is one of the least impactful reasons that the population dips in this game. The lack of dev communication, updates, and interest the devs generate for PvE replayability are the biggest reasons the pop falls off. They created a game that's designed around the concept of server wipes, but then don't add content or generate interest in playing wipes. Also, the best way for them to give less experienced players ways to "fit in" with PvP is done with these exact changes listed in this Dev Update. Many people nervous to play PvP currently just refuse to even try all together due to the veteran players. This change gives them the ability to dip their toes into the PvP scene with zero risks instead of just jumping into the deep end feet first. It also gives at least some kind of reason for PvP players to give PvE communities a try if they know they are still able to Duel etc What other changes could they make to the game that would be a better option for PvP introduction than Arenas and Duels?

You represent a very small percentage of the playerbase and that's the reason your advice is not what the game actually needs. However that doesn't mean that it's not important and also you're important for the ecosystem. The game just lacks direction. So, to make it clear.. your advice and takes are good and logical but they're not what the game needs to explode in popularity and make the players stick around. I have ideas but I'm too lazy to go deeper by myself. Perhaps we can talk about them and possibly make a video about it? Not even gonna ask for credit, just doing it out of love for the game.
I'm fairly new to V rising, but I would like to see more high % blood mobs in the world. I don't mind looking for them, but I feel like they are pretty scarce. Other than that keep up the dope content 💯
Honestly, irradiant gruel is very painful haha. If they made it less annoying to use, that might be a solution to the issue. Not sure if needed though.
are they? I was playing for like a week or so and had all 100% blood types possible. It went to a point where i dont just hunt for 100% blood type, but for a specific mob with that type. Like a male punisher scholar (that has a whip). Or a sectant draculin. From what i've seen playing solo on my server (may be different for online), is that mobs do not respawn on their own. So you kinda have to kill everything you see, so they respawn with new blood. Maybe that's why i have no problems finding good blood. As i murder everything on my way

Does it sounds very crazy to think that, I rather remove the legendary weapons and instead, use the forge fusion to play around the stats? I mean, yes, it is pretty annoying to farm 1500 shards (a really high number btw) and pray to get a legendary weapon (had to rol like 10 times for fucking thousand storms), but on the other hand, I really enjoy some of the combos you can make with the artifact weapons, is just I don't really like some of the stats of those However, I would really appreciate if they do the same for jewels, 240 shards for a random effects WITH random stats is just insane, and then you can go to arena and choose the effect you want with max stat, is just ridiculous
The jewel effects alone are going to be SUCH a nice change. Absolutely cannot wait for that. I think the fusion forge will be the perfect middle ground for these weapons. You'll be able to slowly craft the "perfect" legendary, while also going for those artifact weapons when you want them.
i like how a few days back you posted a video about the game's state and they release this 👁👁which means you should make more and they'll update quicker XD
