Hi, I just received my R8 last week ( June 28, 2024) after only a 2 week wait. I purchased from China HiFi on EBay for $1,380.66 plus TAX, but no extra for shipping. I did receive the new improved updated version. I had a few questions, and I got them answered the next day. I've got 12 hours on the amp now (EL34), and it's great, and getting better with each listening session.

I went to buy some speakers. I brought a source and amp to test them with. The seller had a disconnected jumper. When I tested them they heard them like never before and didn't want to sell them anymore. I recommend using the connector of the High or the positive and the Low for the negative. That way if the jumper isn't connected there will be NO SOUND instead of just woofer or tweeter.

I appreciate your work in finding the perfect HiFi setup for your needs and desires. Especially can relate to having more devices than there are inputs on the (pre)amplifier and am very interested in seeing another tour of the little room when you’re done!

I purchased these today at a local thrift store here in Haarlem. Probaly owned by a smoker because the loudspeaker cables were dark brown. I got them clean for the most part with Dasty. The stands weren't there and the grills are dented. I am wondering if i can get the grills of somehow to bend them back into shape?

Your fancy DAC has optical in, it must have an optical out to plug into your amplifier' optical in ? Is that a better choice seeing most amps have optical in ?

no cds. it’s better to stream lossless like Apple Music which has access to millions of songs, suggests new artists and songs, doesn’t take up realestate or shelves/cd binders, more convenient, can play at home or in the car, iphone.

Kef sounds clear, piega are colouring the sound and muffles the crisp highs. My old eggs rate flat too 100hz on my parametric eq, small bump at 90hz roll off to sub at 80hz. Now have the 3001.2 se and flat until 90hz small bump at 70hz and sub at 70hz....

Using 2 volume knobs is adding unnecessary distortion. I have a mixed use movies 7.4.4/music 2.2 system. My preamp is Parasound 2100 and I use its volume knob to send the signal to my NAD c298 amp My video th-cam.com/video/eyuuD7Ijksk/w-d-xo.html

Pair it with a seventies Sansui. I have Sansui ES-200's that also sound great. They look very similar to these Luxman's exept for the inverted tweeters. (I saw it pass by on your 5000 subscriber vid so I did some research because they looked like my Sansui's so much ;) ) I had them on the Sansui AU-317. Been meaning to upgrade the crossover with modern parts to elevate the high's a bit. Slowness is probably due to the big bass drivers that make them swing but also have a lot of stored energy.

Meer dan verdient ook Ivar! Ik blijf dit een van de meest onderschatte audio kanalen vinden. Begrijp niet dat je niet meer subscribers hebt.

Revival? CDs have never been away. And they're better in every way than vinyl...

Easiest improvements are a Stack Audio SmoothLAN and an Audio Sensibility DC Umbilical. I love my A1!!!

I purchased several CDs recently.....im getting 5.1% -5.4% apy.

I love to collect cds as well as vinyl but cds are boring there my background music when I really want to listen vinyl or tape is second to none

Not very cool! I've just checked the last 13 CD's I've brought, 9 of them have grab scuffs, most of them are very light and run the length of the side it grabbed, and about .75mm thick. I thought they were fine on first inspection, but under a phone light they aren't hard to spot once you know what to look for, the album I've played 4 times has 4 marks. This does indeed suck a bit of dick, as this player is fucking rad (other than unresponsive buttons) but the marks are extremely light, the sort that buff-out in about 10 seconds, I know they devalue albums, and I have many high value discs but honestly I'll only be parting ways with them when I'm lowered into a grave 😆

L'ho preso pure io, ottimo, per ora è abbinato ad in dac Topping D90SE, ma vorrei abbinarlo ad un Denafrips Pontus II 12th, oppure un Audio Gd r8 mk3, oppure ad un Musician Aquarius

I never stopped buying cds' and have saved a bundle thanks to all the cd dumping.

I buy both vinyl and cd I prefer vinyl but cd can sound Excellent when well recorded and mastered
