    Hey, youre using an Audion Silver Night 300B.. very nice amp.. great for being able to do side by side audio comparisons

    I believe the Audioquest Coaxial cable is a higher end cable than the Audioquest Toslink Optical cable... Did you swap these over to see whether this made any difference?

    Hoi ivar.
    De cdm 4 loopwerken van Philips zijn inderdaad heel goed en betrouwbaar.
    Ik gebruik nu een Philips cd 614 speler en die heeft ook dat zelfde loopwerk en klinkt geweldig.
    Fijn weekend.
    Gr André de vries.

    Still wondering how transports can have a sound signature since the decoding is done in the Denafrips. I hope no dsp is going on. It must be all down to clean power and clock. I recently look at the test Alpha Audio did with 5 or six transports and the differences were not small.

    • @theaudiophilebarista2424
      @theaudiophilebarista2424  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, it could be that, but maybe also a transport benefits from not having all the extra electronics inside that would be there if this was a CD player 🤷‍♂️
      Anyways, thanks for watching

      @@theaudiophilebarista2424 Also, the signal that goes from the transport to the dac isn't digital. Its an analog representation of the digital signal. That means the "digital" signal can be effected by the same things any other analog signal.

    Hello,
    Why do you have a weight on your Denifrips Aries?
    Thanks.

    • @theaudiophilebarista2424
      @theaudiophilebarista2424  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, thanks for watching.
      The first reason for the weight is because the heavy cabling keeps pulling the DAC from its place.
      And the second reason is for resonance control.

    • @r423sdex
      @r423sdex 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What does the resonance do ?. Have you done measurements to see what frequency these are.

      @@r423sdex Resonance can cause interference to the music signal through vibrations in the electronics.
      This is well known and well documented, but some people still don’t believe this.
      I have no equipment to measure things like that

    . Why would a Transport have an expensive, temperature controlled Clock when 99% of DACs will ignore & re-clock anyway? I don't want to pay for useless features.

    I have the Audiolab 9000CDT, that has a Teac transport and gives quite a detailed sound and required matching with a smooth Dac. I also see Teac have since stepped up their game with the new Teac VRDS-701T and Teac VRDS-701 models.

    Well done, Ivar. I'm going to go out on a limb and say the CDs are going to sound the same.😁That said, the difference between the optical and coaxial translators might make a small but noticeable difference. I don't think it will change things dramatically, but it might be worth switching the two. Congrats on the new transport. It looks fantastic.

      Thanks my friend. It does look great indeed 😀
      Yes, I’m aware the test could be much more extensive, but then I had to change the setup completely.
      After having the Avatar finally settled in I was not ready to do that. Maybe another time.
