ROB - can you find a date stamp on the fault code? You should be able to. My point is IF the date stamp is within the warranty period then audi are liable and they can't dispute it.
I called it a day on selling cars. My market sector was cars up to £3k - as I also owned a garage we could repair most things. Of over a thousand sold the worse case scenario was having to give the money back on around 5 cars. Of these I scrapped 3. On occasions I thought about going up market to the £10k+ sector - decided the agro involved was just the same - yes the margins were bigger BUT so were the repair costs. Agree with you - CARS ARE GARBAGE!
what you need to do is sell all your cars and replace them with honda jazz's and toyota corolla's,lol. i had a jazz for 11 years and nothing ever went wrong with it, not even a bulb! ive now got a new mazda 2, so i'm hoping that'll be similar!
Hire a similar vehicle from Audi if you can, and swap the parts around, that way you will know if it’s the steering wheel or the door card, or something else. That is unless you have to programme the necessary parts to each vehicle. Anyway good luck...
Look at alot of modern tvs the amount of backlight failures is impressive yes leds can live a long time but any fluctuations in power or ground or any moisture especially in a door card if the vapour barrier hasnt been put on properly could cause problems definitely your first point of call. And should be very cheap to replace (not through Audi)
Itcould be a dry solder joint on led strip.as some others have said get an auto electrician to maybe check them.or cablrs going from pillar to door.it is the most used door on a car.😊😊.

I owned one new Audi -the first and last. A 2.8 Quattro Avante tiptronic in 1997. Cost me £38,000. I only bought it because new Mercs and BMWs were on 18 month wait at the time. Car was great until it was 6 months out of warranty when it went into limp mode. Main dealer thought it was a camshaft sensor. Later that day they rang me with the words that still ring in my ears. 'You'd better sit down! The car had snapped one of the two camshafts requiring a new cylinder head at a cost then of £3000. Audi didn't want to know until I kicked up a fuss when it cost me £800 to fix. Normally on the lighting in the door card there are a series of LED connectors that link in a series to light up the light tubes for the ambient light, one of them fails that causes the lighting to fail, that's if it's anything like a BMW they were around £40 at BMW. Rob, you’ve answered your own question pretty much mate. Tell Mr customer to extend his Audi warranty with main dealer ( yes you can do this if you’ve recently bought the car even if it’s from an independent dealer) pay for his extended warranty for a couple of months or a year if you want to be really nice. You’ll be surprised how cheap it’ll be in comparison to the vehicle being fixed from your own pocket. This way your customers Audi will be fixed and he will have a main dealer extended warranty on a relatively new car! ( been there done that mate it works :). ) cheers

Sounds silly but simple fault finding, just swap the door card over from the passenger side to see if the error swaps across to the passenger side? Canbus systems are very bad at fault finding and faults that come up may not be the actual fault but most of the time just swapping parts from left to right will show the faults up.
@8:40 , " I've got a haircut at 12 o clock " you should use a mobile hairdresser , or mileage correction specialist as they're better known.😂😂 . Only kidding , great channel and content keep up the good work
It’s coming from the wing mirrors, there is a fault in one of the wing mirrors or there is another fault on them, loose wire or a module or one of the mirrors has just failed, Hope that helps. You know the lights in the mirror that change colour to let you know if it’s safe to pull out it’s that. Or it’s one of the sensors on the side of the car connected to the wing mirrors.

Get Audi Customer Service UK involved. If it's just out of warranty they will almost certainly make a contribution towards the repair. Especially if they know they're going to get trashed on TH-cam if they don't...;-)
I used to work for a big BMW dealer in Glasgow. The service department were under strict instruction not to do anything for free with cars out of warranty. I referred a few folk onto BMW UK and BMW stepped in with a large contribution. Worth a phone call.
The LED light strip on the N/S headlight of my Mercedes SL stopped working I had to replace the whole headlight which £1300 plus £200 labour to remove the whole bumper. If the LED strip on the door panel has stopped working then that’s what you have to replace it’s a cheaper option then £2000 steering module. These German cars are a joke.

You could have payed Audi for the extended warranty when you first had it , as i feel you could have put at least half that cost on to the price of the car and may be asked a little more for it with manufactures warranty on it . I will have a Guess , i dont think its any of whats being put forward , I think its in the drives door , its either the Door module or the Door catch assembly , from your description of the fault

Lambo are Audi but RR aren’t, you probably got his two cars wrong way round.
It certainly does make sense Andy. We are on the detective work now, really appreciate the comment thank you
I’d lay money it’s nothing to do with steering wheel it’s the door card / wiring
Weighing all things up its probably the wiring to and from the led light
We are on the same page... SURELY!
What about the Ka?
SOLD!! New chapter incoming... hunting for a replacement now.
Fingers crossed it’s wiring Rob🤞
2 weeks on, any news fella?
Get Audi Customer Service UK involved. If it's just out of warranty they will almost certainly make a contribution towards the repair. Especially if they know they're going to get trashed on TH-cam if they don't...;-)
Worth a go but their call center is questionable at best!!!
Tell me about it, sorry you've had issues too. Grim isnt it.
You driving past Dick Hudsons there…??☺️
Has he trapped seatbelt buckle by any chance closing door , not looking to blame but has it done something to door catch ???? Good luck fella , you need a gold clock for all this Shit , Cheers 😂
Being a car dealer is not all beer and skittles that's for sure.
You're telling me!!
Steering wheel recollabaration
Great call thank you
You need a auto electrician , if your nr Hudds I know a good one
Great shout however sadly the chap is the wrong side of the M25!!
VRS IN NORTHAMPTON WILL SORT THIS
Noted thank you! Really appreciate that
You remind me of David Frost
Get a top auto electrician to look at it rather than firing the parts cannon at it
Erm sorry I will correct you there. Hyundai i10 1.2 Manual
this is why i rather keep with old cars
I feel you!
Get sale or return on the door panel
Great call!!
Hi rob I hope some 1 will help you with this 1 good luck
Try @awsome in Manchester 👍🏻
Auto electrician is the way to investigate this.
Agreed, on it!
Q7 doorcards are cheap on a internet auction platform …very cheap,
The stupid thing with this is, in Australia, Audi's now have a 5 year unlimited km warranty. These manufacturers are appalling, especially so called "premium" car makers. Sorry I don't have anything useful, other than suggesting you move to Australia.
I wouldn’t buy a German car using your money! Kindest regards 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Borrow the parts and test fit em
Naughty..... I LOVE IT! Haha, great call thank you
i have door cards if you’re stuck mate 👍🏻
Are you driving the dog of a BMW?
I was thinking that
😂😂 it's nice
Put some duct tape over the warning message
Not sure that will keep the customer happy but great call if it was my own motor!!
I’ll stick to my amazing 2020 hybrid Camry ,, can’t be doing with this German trash
You must just buy lemons, I’ve never not drove anything german apart from the usual maintenance I’ve never had an issue with either car vw Audi merc bmw always been issue free for me, but I do agree to some extent anything cars after 2019 the quality and reliability has gone down hill
I dont Blame Audi at all , you have the chance of buying extended warranty . my view any clown calls them selfs a specialist , even my dog , if you want i will get him to look at it , if you want . The amount of Fu-k ups i seen from specialist in the 40 years of being a BMW diagnostic tech Level 4 High Voltage is unbelievable.
Need your No if I get a BM!!
Was thinking of swapping a 10 year old Macan, but after this think it’s a keeper.
Only problems been transfer box, and 2 abs sensors.
Don't make me laugh, bmw shocking
@@Mr_Dave1979 Did i say they where not , just read what i said clown , there are people who work for Cadburys who dont like Chocolate.
Stuck or sized miroc switch in the door lock?
@@dingbell5498
if your Maccan is working ok keep using it..
Dude...fuck modern cars...sell classics...old Fords are a (relative) fortune...are ´cheap´ and are easy to fix...
Yeah first on 🤓
I hate to say it but new cars are totally garbage 🤦🏼
Hear hear!!
To be honest is you sell prestige cars surly having to throw thousands to put right very small issues I just got one with 17000 miles and the gearbox failed in 3 weeks the garage I brought it off got all upset at a new gearbox from Audi I was like u sell over complicated junk u sort it out
Brutal isn't it. Sorry to read that
I was looking at changing my car & after watching your video I've taken audi off my list . If they're going to charge you an arm & a leg for a light & steering wheel , how much for a big engine Prolem , I know nothing is cheap but don't take the piss .
To be fair we don't usually have issues with Audi's! But when it goes wrong, it goes wrong. Much with every modern car now sadly.
East Yorkshire Retrofits. (Kieran)What this lad doesn’t know about Audis you could write on a postage stamp. Saved me a fortune on my Audi A8
Noted thank you! Really appreciate that, the customer is a bit far away but I will be taking that contact for me anyway. Thank you!
