Wow, that is absolutely awesome.. No, don't sell it you'll only regret it. That's an absolutely unique lump of metal and it's DNA is part of you... Love the colour it's perfect. It makes it look so solid and much heavier than it is. She's a beauty.
@hoonaticbloggs5402 i mean to begin with, for Rob it would be a great opportunity to network and build his channel which in the long run will bring in more moeny and opportunities then his car dealership will.
Beast of a build, live your life children as the house may be the better investment but you can’t get the big smile a beautiful sti can give you when driven properly
The latest colour choice looks a real classic, you can see where the money has been spent. Will you ever get your money back ? No, but you can't replace enjoyment and a smile when you drive it. I bet It's cool, it's fun & it's exciting.....
I totally understand I spent a small fortune on my sti Impreza tracked it loved every minute of it then when I sold it to this day have regretted the day I sold it
WOW ....This isn't a Financial Advisor who has wasted money, this is a man who has used his money to invest in his passion. Great video and what a fantastic build. Very well articulated, I could listnen to you talk about your car all day long.
That is no mistake at all , its EPIC , it looks and sounds amazing . who needs a house when you can have that car . you cannot sell it , it owes you nothing now . just keep it .
Sir, you are a perfect example of, "Built not Bought". I have a 2009 Forester 2.5X. It has 18x9.5 inch wheels, Falken Azenis RT615K + tires. ISC Coilovers, ISC rear lower control arms., adjustable lateral arms, Perrinn 25 mm rear sway bar, Whiteline swaybar mount brace and Kartboy rear swaybar endlinks. With these suspension upgrades my friend in his 2019 Civic Type R cannot keep up with me in the corners. Of course as soon as the road gets straight I am done. The crazy part is I have a box of suspension parts for the front end I haven't installed yet. I plan on STi 6speed, rear R180 axles, hubs and brakes. Then a EZ30 swap. Sir I am 57 years old. You are making something unique. You didn't just go to the dealer and buy a 600hp car. Keep going. I am.
I cant really explain why I love this video. It could be because I have a 2003 WRX Sti but its not. I think its how passionate you are about your car & how (like me) for some reason these cars trump anything else in your mind. There's something about them that changes you. Love your car its an absolute beast.
Richard Burns would be proud mate 😂 What an epic one of a kind machine. Looks mean in that gunmetal grey. Can't wait to see you launch it , spitting flames n all
What an absolute beast of a Scooby. I was thinking recently how cool would it be to get a 2 door Impreza shell and put the wide 22B style arches on it and paint it in the Subaru grey colour. And here we are.... You've done it!!! Looks pure stunning mate. It's the best looking Subaru I've seen. I owned a P1 about 20 years ago. What an absolutely amazing car it was. I miss it now so much. Starting to get the Scooby bug again so I'm thinking that I'd love to get another
Thats exactly the video I've been desperate to see thank you Rob. The impreza is an awesome machine and takes me back to my Scoobynet days. Wish I'd kept my 1999 STI Type R V5. That build sheet is literally an enthusiasts wet dream.
This is absolutely fantastic . I’m the same at the minute mine has been sitting for 2 years and I’m in the verge of spending a fortune. Owned it 10 years and it was the most reliable car I’ve ever owned
I had 2 impreza's in my time, a 95 sti and a 01 sti. If I had the means to do half of what you have done here I would have done it. All I got to do was a hks supergdragger exhaust and blitz nur spec bov and I spent around £2k at storm motorsport in bradford and thought that was extreme! The car looks amazing, usually a fan of sonic blue but you've nailed it with this rb5 colour it looks slick and modern.
You're not an idiot. Very nice sub. Super fun cars to drive. I had a 2016 wrx that only had a Cobb access port and it was really fun to rip around. Everyone like these cars, mine was stolen about a year after I got it.
@THELOGBOOKUK If you don't mind me asking, as a fellow Subaru owner, I agree the 22b is the holy grail. After all this work and attachment, would you trade it out for one? 😉
You can also get a "Brighton" basically a base model, No power anything, only came in manual if im not mistaken. The budget model. It came is 2 door also. Many people actually start with a brighton due to weight savings on the chassis.
It’s not a mistake, it’s a way of life. Been there, SIDC reagional organiser, owned numerous Impreza’s including a JDM car imported and tuned by Litchfield. I still miss those days, but 20mpg (on a good day) and mental servicing bills did me in. It’s mad when 2.0L petrol C-Class is cheaper to run than a scooby (and it gets 42mpg) - might time to tune it 😂
Great video and amazing car. Subaru impreza are by far the one of the best cars ever produced in my opinion. I love them.the sound the look is so special. Look forward to some more content on this one please 😊
Absolutely out of this world stunning build. I’ve gone the other way with my type r and returned it to standard but seeing this has got me thinking if I’ve made the right decision 😂
The thing is that people buy a Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren etc, and nobody says you wasted money. Essentially, you built an equivalent car performance wise, and not only that, it's completely unique. I'm in the process of building my 2012 wrx sti. It has carbon fiber fenders, carbon fender caps, carbon hood, carbon duck tail trunk, and the shop is currently putting on a carbon fiber roof from marsh composites. I installed every cusco chassis brace that they sell, it covers front to back all under the car, and strut tower braces front and back. I installed all new aftermarket cusco control arms, toe arms, trailing arms, sway bars, all upgraded bushings etc. Anyway the list is long, engine is completely built closed deck paired with a grimmspeed bb500 turbo. My build I'd say is between 50-60 thousand canadian.
difference being the other cars mentioned appreciate in value, this will do nothing but depreciate. You could have even gotten an Actual 22b or WRC car, that WOULD appreciate... and be faster lol. Despite what some financial asshat with more dollars than sense thinks.
@crisnmaryfam7344 22b is no way affordable. They are well over 200k usd, and that's almost 300,000 canadian dollars. My car is going to be around 500 whp, and the way I built it, it's going to be an amazing track car. A wrc car that has the same hp, and all the carbon fiber is 150,000 usd, plus they often have modifications that are not suitable for daily use. On my car, I did a good majority of the work and spent around 40,000 usd. I know I won't get my money back from the car, but I'm not ever selling it regardless. 500awhp is more than enough power. With the weight reduction of all the carbon fiber, it will be faster than the majority of new factory sports cars.
I know you said you are looking to take it on track next year, please bring it to donnington park at some point…..preferably on one of my weeks off work because I’d really like to have a look at this 😂!!!! It looks truly awesome and you can tell there’s been absolutely no expense spared! 👌🏽😉
Love the car, looks amazing mate, bet its an animal ! I've had mine for 21 years now and still love it. Loved your explanation of the hydraulic handbrake 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nice car pal great to see one in such good condition. I daily mine and on the road to bringing it back to bone stock barring a few discreet mods nice to see one at the other end of the scale. Dont sell it.
Dope build man absolute killer build!!! You could most definitely do with a turbo upgrade without sacrificing anything. The new Garrett turbo technology is insane! And cams are always a good idea! Looking forward to seeing more man.
Rob we all do things that defy logic, sense and escalate beyond any financial reckoning. It’s life my friend and anyway, I’m glad you embarked on this journey with your Subaru. For it was because of this our paths crossed and that’s got to be worth £85 grand hasn’t it! 😁
I feel your pain, I have $80k in an ‘05 STI and I regret it every day. Until I turn the key on and my heart starts fluttering 🥰 Absolutely love my sh!tbox!!
First time watching your channel, wow that’s some serious work on that Impreza. I’ve owned 3 but I’ve slightly grown up and currently have a nicely modified I30N 😉. You’re a very funny guy in a good way and will subscribe to your channel. Have a great Christmas 🙏
Stunning mate ! I know how it gets out of hand as I'm the same as I've owned my EVO 9 for 18 years, and it's producing 600 bhp and spent way too much on it !
Very nice example. Im further down the same rabbit hole im afraid haha. Mines a P1 full sequential Time Attack car. Motorsport abs, paddleshift, process west, 2600cc injectors 6466 next gen etc etc and is currently the most powerful P1 with 840bhp dynod at RCM and 680ftlb. Im on a 2.1 also.
You need to put a sequential gearbox in her. Change the seats to some that fit nice. Sound insulation for fuel and gearbox noise. Take the stereo out and make a control panel with flick switches for syvecs. And sell me your 6 speed. But i wouldn't change the body at all. 45s tyres would help that set up definitely. Realy nice build go and enjoy it.
New to your channel but what a build! Nice to see the 2.1 approach and not a 2.35. I’m buying a Murtaya with the composite monocoque tub and GC8 Subaru Impreza running gear. 950kg and a forged engine with 316bhp, VF400 going on next year 😉
Ohh Rob, I have just bought a 22b replica, to go with my 800r top secret supra... love the details, think i need to come and see you, steer me around the pit falls.. cheers Gilly
Genuinely the most stunning GD Impreza I've laid eyes upon. I absolutely agree that a unique "investment" that brings you joy is superior to a typical investment that collects income. Currently building a Hawkeye STi myself, I must however express the level of fear I have that I could put all my love, blood, sweat, tears, into a car same as you have. And have someone crash into me and ruin it all 😢
Hello from Ireland, Rob. Take a look at Dean's "Saving Salvage" video, just out. He bought a Subaru STI WRX, it was parked in a Garage for 8yrs, a 2004 Car. You're Car is beautiful Rob, Wicked Colour 😍 ❤️. Keep up the great work bruv 🙏🙏👌👏👏👏👏👏
Not a car I’d really heard of then two pop up on my feed on the same day. First on Saving Salvage and now The Logbook. Looks like Dean got sucked in too, spending more money than he’d planned. Admittedly not as much as Rob but easy to see how it can escalate. There’s obviously something about these cars. BTW Rob, I loved the nod to “Homes Under The Hammer” at the start. 😂
That car is a weapon always loved Imprez’s & Evo’s have had a P1, WR1, Evo 6, Evo 7 RS, Evo 8 & Evo 10 360 just wished I kept them 😢 Think positive it’s a lot cheaper than a 22B and a lot faster..
Wow just wow, puts my neighbours wr1 to shame that does. Can't wait to see that on a drag strip or track. Its a bit faster than the rs5 i just bought then lol😊
I enjoyed the journey of the Impreza Rob. Even though I'm not into them. .. I can see the passion. . I'm on a journey with my mini cooper S. Want to relocate the intercooler to the front behind the grill. Local engineering firm said they could re-do the pipework... (Cooler air lower intake temperatures more power ). I think cams would unleash at least another 50 with remap taking it too 600?.. .. Interesting take on the M2 video...
Thats a stunning car. You built it well but, imo, you got the order of the cars wrong. 1.. 22b, 2.. type r then the P1. As you know they used the type r to build the P1, but they removed the dccd box with heavier gears, the r180 diff and the intercooler spray and fitted abs. Don't get me wrong, the P1 is a great car but the type r is more raw. Also, why, with such a big specced engine did you not go 2.33? Either was its a stunning car. And sounds awesome.
Awesome build Rob. Now I know for sure you're a bit nuts 😂 Sweet was an awesome bloke - good old days of Prodrive ehh? If you do ever want to sell it and want over top $, the Aussie market is huge. I guess it depends on how much the roof over your head is gonna cost 😂 How's that going? All the best to you and yours - have a fab Xmas 🎉🥂🎄
You should do a breakdown of the part prices, and what you paid in labor for somebody els doing all the work for you. If you know how to do the work and have the spare time you could have saved thousands on labor prices. I'm building an EZ30 into a legacy wagon in my garage without paying anyone. But I do have the experience of doing ej25 teardowns in a JDM shop.
You can't take your money with you when you die. Might as well spend it on what makes you happy. This thing is rad! 😊
came here to say this, 8k a year is 8k a year, this is something else.
Wow, that is absolutely awesome.. No, don't sell it you'll only regret it. That's an absolutely unique lump of metal and it's DNA is part of you... Love the colour it's perfect. It makes it look so solid and much heavier than it is. She's a beauty.
Exactly couldn't agree more.
Unreal build!!
You need to get Misha to take this around the ring.
Yes!!!! MISHA would love this.
100%
Hell no. Misha didn’t pay for it , he can’t drive it. Why on earth do people give him their car to rinse
@hoonaticbloggs5402 i mean to begin with, for Rob it would be a great opportunity to network and build his channel which in the long run will bring in more moeny and opportunities then his car dealership will.
You sir are an addict…I absolutely love this
Beast of a build, live your life children as the house may be the better investment but you can’t get the big smile a beautiful sti can give you when driven properly
I’ve never commented on any of the 1,000,000 videos I’ve watched. That is the most beautiful car I’ve ever seen with an out of the world spec!! ❤❤❤❤
The latest colour choice looks a real classic, you can see where the money has been spent. Will you ever get your money back ? No, but you can't replace enjoyment and a smile when you drive it. I bet It's cool, it's fun & it's exciting.....

😂😂😂 Brilliant.
As a recovering ex-car dealer, that was the funniest, most honest appraisal of a man’s own money pit, I’ve ever heard.
🙏🏼
0:26 is exactly why you can't sell it. Pure joy! What an awesome car!! Great video.
WOW ....This isn't a Financial Advisor who has wasted money, this is a man who has used his money to invest in his passion.

Spot on video Rob glad you put it on your channel i have wondered if you still had her such a beautiful car and it's nice to see your doing well mate

I was never really interested in the JDM scene but that is one hell of a build. It looks stunning from all angles and the colour is perfect.
This is one of the greatest cars I've ever seen, regardless of brand or price.
What a work of art
I wouldn’t drive I could look at it for hours

Its not a financial mistake. If a 22b is 250k then this is a bargain.
Amazing content bud and love your delivery. Editing, sound is on point
Oh I forgot to say WOW😮
What a Great Car, looks great and top spec.. Money well spent you only live once !! Enjoy it before your too old.. So well done and go for it.

I've got a V4 Sti R I've had for 10 years and just started modifying to get it somewhere similar to this result in another 10 :D Love it, sick car man
that car is a beauty. if i could afford a build like this, not much id wanna do different. cheers!

Love the car, looks amazing mate, bet its an animal ! I've had mine for 21 years now and still love it.
Loved your explanation of the hydraulic handbrake 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Epic build, I am heading down a similar rabbit hole also with a now wide arched type r, 2.1 also and almost identical suspension set up.
That’s a great build, love the spec list on it.
Nice car pal great to see one in such good condition. I daily mine and on the road to bringing it back to bone stock barring a few discreet mods nice to see one at the other end of the scale. Dont sell it.
Ive seen this car in person at richard henrys and it looks absolutely wicked in person

I can relate to this too with mine. Good video to watch. Thanks for sharing 👍
I have seen glimpses of this car, great to see an insight into it. Very cool, very much my kind of thing 😎😎
Beautiful car ! I've got a v3 type r sti . Would love to get it similar to yours. It was lovely to see the list and spec good luck 👍
Money well spent mate, thats stunning
Love the colour and look
Thank you!
Best looking scooby ever made and if I had the money I'd have prob spent that much also
Worth every penny in my eyes
I wanted to keep watching but the video is just 22min😔 Love the video and this beauty of a car😍
Omg.. that car looks amazing!
It’s mega . Like literally stunning
Hahaha. Love man maths! Love this build. Investment means different things to different people, money wealth isn't everything.
Love it....And I thought having a Vernier on my old RS2000 was cool back in the day !
Absolutely gorgeous car man
Awesome build👌
Hi Rob. I didn't understand a word but the car looks great! 😜
Great video, love the scoob. I miss the two I had. Actually, that's a lie, the first was a basket case. My V5 was gorgeous and I want it back! 😂
Wow, this is a beautiful looking car❤.
Sod the house. That's the best one I've ever seen. Wow 👌
Great video, Great personality, fantastic car be proud
Nice work Rob 👏
That car is a weapon always loved Imprez’s & Evo’s have had a P1, WR1, Evo 6, Evo 7 RS, Evo 8 & Evo 10 360 just wished I kept them 😢 Think positive it’s a lot cheaper than a 22B and a lot faster..
beautiful car mate, looks the same colour as my RB5 🙂
And you had the cheek to look nervous when I took the LC500 for a test drive 😮😂
😂😂😂 I’m not a good passenger!
@THELOGBOOKUK 🤣👌
It's beautiful 💯 Very well done
awesome build mate 🦾
NO WAY, that's my footage at 2:14 LOL
Install a 92-00 Type RA/R roof vent! Looks great and you don't need aircon.
Jesus man!!! I love it 😂
"It all got a bit out of hand" 😂
Said every car guy ever.
Wow just wow, puts my neighbours wr1 to shame that does. Can't wait to see that on a drag strip or track. Its a bit faster than the rs5 i just bought then lol😊
Been with my Impreza for 20 years now, wish I could do more to it because it getting old and tired. Still beat on it :P
Currently has 17% pulley, GRS larger intercooler, Janspeed manifold, miltek exhaust.
212 crank horses.
..
Its such fun for a small car, and that supercharger whine
....
Am ditching the ac pump (7kg!) when the intercooler is relocated.
Replacing the clutch next ur and will have the flywheel lightened,
(Better throttle response).
..
Later plan is for fibreglass bonnet
(- 20kg)
And then racing seats est weight saving 30kg..
...
If you go to a bigger turbo, won't that make the power even stronger peaky?
I think cams would unleash at least another
50 with remap
taking it too 600?..
..
Interesting take on the M2 video...
Mate don’t get rid of the ac for 7kg it’s not worth it at all
Beautiful car . You made right choice❤
Love it, great build... I'm on the same path but not that extreme!!
Not an idiot, just passionate
Great vid and stunning car, currently fitting a jdm ej207 with big port heads in my classic😃
No need to worry about head gasket failure, the block will break before that.
Absolutely stunning, money well spent cos life is too short to drive a boring car
Was your first cowboy mechanic based in the North East, it reminded me of someone
cant drive a house but you can drive a sti :)
Amazing car worth every penny
Love your car, thanks for the video, go and enjoy it in 2025. Mine hasn't been out since 2019... aaah!
😅 this was a awesome breakdown of the car.. what a build tho…
It does look top notch though 👏🏻👏🏻
Change pads to RSL29s, the 2500s will fade still if you are able to drive it fast enough, they aren’t great pads even though they are expensive!
