For the money they give for the gh4 I better keep it 😅

My GH4 still making me money as of last week. £300 for a corporate event. A used GH5 in the UK is about £400 but I still don't quite need it yet. Don't forget the power of a Tripod and good lighting. Live well and travel the world with the money it can still generate, even in 2024.

Wow. The GH4 had no IBIS for real? I forget how long ago that was already and how Panasonic took awhile to have these now common features. Even the GH series favored small size over video features at that time. I do think it helps to have a bigger body for video but Panny needs to return to small photo cameras too. 🙂

My favourites as an enthusiast (not a pro): - PL 15mm - PL 25mm - Oly 45mm f1.8 - Oly 75mm - Oly 12-40mm f2.8 - Panasonic 14-140mm - Oly 75-300mm Wish list: PL 9mm. Having said this, there are so many awesome combinations of lenses that are great propositions. My priority has been (1) relatively fast, (2) strong value / price to performance, (3) smallish, cover a pretty full range of focal lengths. My criteria eliminated the f1.2 primes and PL 10-25mm and 25-50mm zooms but I recognise these are the lenses to get if quality is the priority. Great to have choices! Long live MFT!

For me personally m4/3 is all about size, size and size. And did I say size! Panasonic has completely forgotten about that for photography. Hell, they have pretty much abandoned the m4/3 photographer. It’s just OMS now for cameras for me.

When MFT was new I bought the GH1 and a few lenses, starting with the 14-140, 7-14, 20, 100-300, 45 macro. It cost me thousands so it was never about price. The thing that sold me was the EVF, and video abilities. Lens size (not camera size) was icing on the cake, but not as important as camera capabilities. I had Canon full frame as well back then, and bought Sony along the way, and about 2 ½ years ago I sold my Canon gear. I love my Sony gear, but Lumix is my main gear. Versatility and capability is a good way to describe MFT. I would never even consider Sony for shooting animations, and extreme tele and macro are MFT strengths. The Sony's are good for vlogging but not much else. They don't have the feature sets that I require. They are excellent travel cameras, but getting serious I equate with getting MFT.

How can I transfer video pictures to my phone from the gh4?

I really like my G9II. I mostly use 4k 24p for short films so I don't plan on recording for long periods of time. Also set the heat management to high.

I'm going to need the tiltable flash from GX9

I'd love to test and compare agaist my other fast lenses I use with MFT. It cool they came out with MFT lenses as part of the line-up!

Can you explain what you said about the image difference between s5 and s5ii?

An idea I had is if you have an external monitor, create your own custom LUT (however you like it) but with the blacks crushed down and highlights adjusted slightly down so the image looks more or less the way you would use it in an edit, maybe even a tad bit dark. Looking at V-log off the little camera screen or even off an external monitor, with the very “soft, flat, grey” log look its hard to notice streaking. The streaks get lost in the flat V log image. If you are viewing your image with the LUT already on the clips these streaks become super obvious and although this is not a solution it at least helps you from wasting your time and coming home to shots you thought were good but have streaks. It kind of allows you to notice right away and change your settings, lighting, angle etc to try to avoid this. Also thanks this is a great video.

Have you tested G9II with 35-100 2.8 ? I bought G9II with Leica DG 35-100mm f2.8 and found video stabilisation to be not very good, with noticabe jitter around 100mm when shooting handlend

I'm really living mine coming from the gh5. It's been the perfect camera except for overheating. I shoot a lot of interviews, and it tends to overheat when shooting at 4k60 after about an hour BUT it doesn't do it if I swap out the battery for a dummy and power it by wall power. I'm looking into grabbing a cage and npf to barrel jack power set up, but in the meantime its AC when I'm locked down. Otherwise, it's my new favorite camera

Nice video, but why a video shooter like yourself would buy a G9 and not GH7?

I have a question about phase detect auto focus on G9ii for shooting videos at 4K120fps. I'm curious to see how much better AF with phase detect at 120fps video when compared to GH6 at 4K 120fps using DFD. Thanks in advance.

I don't know if you've reviewed these, but how do these Laowas compare color-wise(when they're closed down a bit) to the Viltrox 23/33/56 T1.5, the Sirui Nightwalkers or the Meike Mini Primes? I have the Viltrox set and I'm looking for a 16/17/18mm to complete it. I would love to see a comparison with some similar lenses that can be combined with these Laowas.

Never seen a video like this, kudos to you for making it. On a funny note, I have the olympus 8mm body cap paired to my olympus Air, hooked up to my cell phone and get 16mp high quality images is well just fun, and c'mon 16mp images for the cell phone.... I have 13 olympus lenses mostly pro lenses, but I would put the 300 f4 in S bracket as I'm a bird/wildlife shooter, just a thought. Looking at some of the panasonic lenses to get away from my olympus fan boy guy thing, so this is very good and needed video. Cheers!

I have sirui T1.2 cine lenses. My only complaints with thoses lenses: The rings are a bit too loose and the 25 mm is too warm. Laowa lenses seem to be great cine lenses. The image quality seems to be really nice. The focus breathing is a bit disappointing though.

I like ‘em. They seem a bit sharper than the Mitakon while still having lots of character. Limited set though. It’s only those two, correct?

I would love to see an image comparison to the Mitakon. I’ve been eying these super fast T/1.0 lenses to add to my BGH1 (and GH6)’s otherwise exclusively speed boosted kit. The character is so fun generally.

These look fun (and were unexpected) but quite limiting with only 18 & 25. The "new" Laowa cine MFT zoom on the other hand looks amazing!

Thanks for the video. My thought was similar, so it was nice to hear from yours. I thought that it should be for a reason, that g9II and s5II share basicly the same body. It must be cheaper in Production, i guess. So they probably built the smallest rangefinder FF body, with the s9, they could, to have a micro 4/3 version share it. So I would say they will not shrink the body of the s9. The question for me is how much space will come free this way? I miss Headphonejack, EVF and a second control wheel the most. I wonder how much space a second controlwheel would have used up. But maybe they left it away to not disturb the tiktokers

I own the S5 for 1.5 YRs. My first camera. I just found out that sony only has one mount system shared between the APSC and Full Frames which makes sharing lenses possible even if with major caveats at times. It is still an option. You can buy an apsc body and stock up on full frame lenses as you build your business and then upgrade the body when you feel the need. Have to different sensor sizes that use the same lenses as A and B camera. Or vice versa. Get a big boy body and build a career on cheaper lenses and then expand. It bothers me that we can't do that at lumix. Haven't even found adapting tutorials for either so it just becomes so expensive to own different body sizes. Over at lumix.

Did a pre-order. And then discovered that the GH7 will not ship until the end of july! We are talking approx 7 to 8 weeks to wait. Bummer. No GH7 this summer.

Dude, I am in LOVE with the GH7. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my GH6 and maybe in the near future I'll trade up to the GH7 for sure and i DEFINITELY would benefit from the Arrilog update.
