At one point, I regret selling all my stuff. It happens randomly. At the time I have it i don't need it or only use it randomly. THEN when I sell it off, I need it all the time. Just picked up the Oly 40-150 pro with the intention to shoot more sports photography because I kept getting requests...currently have not gotten any jobs since I've received it.

Fantastic video, Rhett. While I am a big fan of the full frame lumix gear, I still really enjoy shooting M43, the G9II put that into perspective for me, it was so fun but I realised the GH5 or GH5S was probably all I actually needed for a lot of the stuff I do. I have to say behind the camera, anything works great but when there's no one helping, the reliable AF makes life a lot easier out in the field. Thanks also for the shout-out mate, great video.

Thanks for swinging by brother! I still stand by IF you can afford it a full frame cam and a mft cam make sense and cover almost all bases, especially with the shared body design between the S5ii and G9ii its easier than ever to master one setup!

I am nostalgic for my Panasonic GX80. It was stolen🤢 I replaced it with a GX9. But, loved that camera.

    Great video man!
I also feel nostalgic about some of my gear. I think I was won’t selll my G9 for example, because I started my channel with it and was my first m43 camera after coming from dslr and camcorders.
I regret selling a Panny miniDV camcorder, though I can’t remember the model. But it was so much fun!

I miss my g9 after moving to Sony. G9ii on the way and I’m excited. I picked up a gh5 cheap as a stop gap camera, and I should really sell it when the g9ii arrives, but it’s such a legend. But I figure it will probably have a better life as someone’s first budget A cam then as my back up mostly in a drawer B cam. But I totally relate to the nostalgia factor. I wish I had my original g9. Came with me all around the world.

I also miss the camcorder days. I even had a zoom controller plugged in so i could do smooth zooms right from my tripod handle. Was great for live concert filming gigs. And most camcorders had timecode so it was easy to sync multiple cams for the edit. Can't believe with all the tech we have 20 years later still no timecode on the g9ii =(

I am a wedding videographer and I currently have GH6, 2 GH5s, GH5, G85 and GH4, the latter two being backup cameras. I have thought of a good reason to sell some cameras and upgrade, but I can't find a good reason to sell them. I have worked with canon C100 II and C70 and when I compare videos I don't see a difference that would make me upgrade. My team and I work with manual focus, that is one of the reasons.

No regrets, but I do miss the GH4. It was a time I was getting serious about filmmaking and I just wanted to film every and anything with it. Plus most of the up coming filmmakers had them and we worked together a lot more. Now we’re all serious business men and shoot on different formats, with me being the only one still shooting MFT.

Man, I was just looking at some of my original early clips from the GH4 and I remember thinking that that 4K footage was the best I’ve ever seen out of any camera. Looking at it today it’s pretty standard, but still very impressive!

Great video and thanks for sharing. I sold my GH5 a couple of years back and i've just bought it again as a 'C' cam. I'm thinking of selling my S1, S5 & G9 (keeping the GH5 for the interim) and getting the S5 II, 6K Blackmagic L mount and the G9 II. Or, sell up and wait for the used market to start selling these cameras for a little cheaper.

I’m about to sell my gx9 kit annd I already know that I’m gonna miss that thing. It’s so not practical (as I need to pick up a good low light camera to pare with my gh6 for video), but damn is it fun to use for daily carry photo fun

I bought a n Oly 40-150 Pro several years ago, sold it and then ended up buying another one recently. Love this lens. I need to pick up the Panasonic 35-100 F2.8ii. Actually I need 2 of them for my GH5S's for interviews. I liked my GH4 and Gh5 but they can't beat the low light of the GH5s. Would sell one of them if I could find a good 6K camera at a good price. Have been looking at the BM cinema 6K but it only shoots h.264, h.256 and BRAW. I mostly shoot in an All-I codec on my GH6, although I love shooting BRAW on it. I am waiting to see the specs on the S1H Mark 2. But will be a bit pricey with full frame lenses. That's why I shoot micro 4/3.

I sold a 40mm macro kit lens to buy a 100mm macro lens. I ended up buying the 40mm macro lens again because it was great for vlogging.

Yeah, but mostly cars. Camera gear for the most part is replaceable unless it's super oddball or vintage so it's hard to regret or miss anything except the money lost from depreciation. You can sell it and rebuy it with a fair bit of ease. Finding that clean low miles first year Eunos Roadster will never happen a second time.

I've been going back and forth on selling my LX100II. But it's hard to find a replacement. Closest I think I could get in terms of usability and total package would be a Fuji X-T or X-E series + 15-45 kit lens. GX85 could possibly do it, but I don't know if I'd jive with sacrificing a 24 f/1.7 equivalent for a f/3.5-f/5.6 with less reach. And you lose the controls.
For me though, the absolute most brutal thing about the LX100II is lack of ports and the 1.34x crop in 4K *and* no dedicated video mode. Super tough when you're primarily a video shooter. Still, I've been super happy with it as a take everywhere snapshot cam. For street photography it's top notch. If they come out with a LX100 III, I'd be all over it.
And the GH5 is still amazing. Use them all the time at my day job. While I love my S5II, the GH5/s bodies are _way_ better quality and more rugged in my opinion. Uncropped 4K 60p too.

I’ve been thinking about getting an LX100 to carry around. Will probably end up getting a GX85 or GX9 instead.

Yeah I haven’t use those other cameras personally and just liked some of the more modern features of the G 100 but that 15 mm really is essential for those tiny cameras. I still do really recommend the LX 100 though because having a 24 mm 1.7 is really handy, and you’ll never be caught without a zoom lens or anything along those lines. I have a whole video on it that I linked in the video above if you want to check it out!

I miss my 2 GX85s…I had 3 at one point, got a G85 and sold off 2 of the GX85s…then broke my only remaining GX85 (with a Viltrox speed booster) then started to wish I hadn’t sold the other 2! By the way, is that the GVM wireless mic that has internal recording…and do you like it?

One of your best videos Rhett , still using GH5 , still some times use my old hacked gh2 great 1080p and lovely 14megapix 16.9 photos with a slightly vintage look , but i only use it through the great view finder as the LCD packed up , and it would be a very fragile job trying to fix it , i did try but put it back together , so i use that camera as a vintage point and hope camera lol or sit it on something as it has no stabilization , one camera i miss was the point and shoot Sony HX200V IT HAD GREAT SMOOTH AUTO FOCUS and was a tiny 30 x zoom 18 mega pixel sensor camera and the photos were better than the 20 mp HX300 AND HX400 versions that followed , just a handy camera , but no good for serious low light work at all video wise understandably with such a tiny sensor , i am going to wait a while to see if a GH7 comes out . cheers and best regards .
