I think that in this year a few regional wars in the middle east are brewing and this is great news for Georgia. War # 1 : Israel vs. Palestine + Lebanon + Syria + Iraqi and Iranian militias + Yemen. With 120,000 - 150,000 missiles to be shot at Israel in a period of a few weeks to at most 3 months the missile defence system will intercept in the best case scenario 60% of them (realistically 30% - 45%). When it happens there will be an exodus of hundreds of thousands of Israelis. Thousands of them will rent or buy properties mainly in Tbilisi and Batumi (including hundreds of Georgian Jews who will use their Georgian citizenship to relocate their business to Georgia). War # 2 : Iran (with help of its allies Turkey & Qatar) vs. UAE & Bahrain. Yes, it sounds incredible but UAE & Bahrain are in the Israeli camp so Saudi Arabia will use Israel's strategic decline + crimes as an excuse to devastate the UAE it sees as a rival due to its plans to grant millions of Arabs and Pakistanis citizenship in coming years hence challenging the supremacy of Saudi Arabia in the Arab world. If this war happens hundreds of thousands will leave the UAE. Thousands of them (especially Arabs, Iranians and Russians but also many rich Indians, Chinese and Africans) will settle in Georgia. War # 3 : Turkey vs. Israel & Egypt. Again this may sound like science fiction to you but such a hot and devastating war is possible a year to three years after Israel and its Arab neighbours have a ceasefire. Israel will be greatly weakened. Its ally Egypt will have political turmoil and economic bankruptcy. Such conditions will be very tempting for Turkey but it will have consequences (ie Turkey will be expelled from Nato and regress economically to the 1960's. Tens of thousands of wealthy Turks will have only one option to continue to prosper and that is Georgia.

Adlia is the best zone in my opinion. It has the most beautiful sea side park and a mix of affluent Georgians (mostly from Tbilisi and Kutaisi), foreign investors/global nomads and retirees mainly from Russia and Europe who don't come for only a ten day summer vacation but typically reside 4 to 6 months a year (smart investors live in Batumi from 15th October - 15th April and rent their apartments during the 6 months of high season). This will guarantee the area will eventually get better and more affordable restaurants, bakeries and cafes than the touristic northern part of Batumi as establishments cater for locals, not passing tourists.

Alex, I’ve been in Batumi for 3 weeks now, and I’m really impressed. The city and it’s people will grow on you after awhile. I’ve been staying in the Orbi City complex where it’s one huge construction zone inside and around the complex. But I’m convinced that everything will look nice and shiny in a few years. I’m also impressed with old Batumi with it’s beautiful architecture and restored old buildings. It’s much nicer than what you showed on video. The sea front promenade is also very nice near the port and cable car building. There are many dilapidated housing blocks and unclean areas with persistent poverty, so most people are packed into those blocks while shiny new high rises remain empty for most of the year until the tourist season. There’s only around 5 occupants on my entire floor at Orbi City, but I don’t mind peace and quiet during the off season. People are generally nice and helpful in Batumi. The only criticism I have is the limited shopping options and higher cost of goods. I’ve noticed some clothing, grocery and deli products costs more than in the US. However, housing and transportation is very affordable. A bus ride only costs .12 cents! The other thing is the weather. It’s a little cloudy and chillier this time of year, but it really doesn’t get any colder than Southern California. Since Americans can stay in Georgia for a year, I wouldn’t mind owning an apartment to use in the off season. How clean the city is - I am amazed!!! And not only Batumi -all other georgian cities are clean as well!!! Just bravo!!!Look at Europe -it is full of garbage, exept Scandinavia!!! That first apartment is only the size of a hotel room. I don’t think that’s worth 66 grand. You can get newer places 3 to 4 times that size for the same price in Turkey…despite the high inflation there

I plan on traveling to Turkey & Georgia from Namibia next month. Batumi is one of my stops, and I’m sure it will be a cultural shock. Seems like an interesting town with a lot of variety. I like the new area along the coast. The old town has a little bit of character, but it can do without the graffiti. Seems like middle Batumi has a mix of old & new. Some buildings are definitely run down, but poor people and locals have to live somewhere. The newer buildings can be a turn off when residents hang their clothes over the rails of apartment balconies. They don’t even do that in Namibia.

Hello. Hi I am coming to batumi as a student. But I finding very difficult to find a good apartment for almost around 150 to 300 usd per month. If possible can you guide me or suggest me good accommodation. It will be really greatful of you to help.
