Not sure how much actually value is in this video. Certainly it is great seeing all the various dishes, however, he rates foods too heavily based on his own British preferences not how well the food performs based on what it is supposed to be. I know that sounds nitpicky maybe but... He was at the buffet and looked at breakfast sausages from 10 feet away and pronounced them under done. Probably influenced by the English tendency to over cook their "sausages". He also complained that the butter at Blu wasn't salted. Really. I have a solution, pick up the salt shaker and shake it.

I’ll agree, HAL bread isn’t great, but everything else I’ve had is nice or fabulous

Loud kids in the background is far from the calm I would like on a cruise. Paying for a Yacht Club to be away from loud obnoxious people just to have unruly kids is not my idea of a vacation. This is why I cruise with Virgin Voyages.

That was so courageous to get as far as you did. All kitted up and in the seat, well done. You pushed yourself to get even that far. I remember the time I talked my schoolmate into entering a swim race. She didn’t want to do it as she didn’t like the water. She stood at the deep end and jumped in when the signal went off but then froze. I had started swimming when I realised she had stopped. I immediately went back for her and took her to the ladder. Both of us got into trouble but I was so proud that she got so far, just for me even though she was nervous and she was happy that I stopped to look after her. We didn’t care what anyone else thought and it drew us closer as friends. It was about ourself, it was about each other.

You don’t speak loud enough. Buy a microphone that attaches to your head & the mic is right in front of your mouth. You can get one that does not stand out.

Can you explain what happened with Jane and the zipline? 😂 Loved this video, excellent all around. Quick question about the local bus, did you just pay for it onboard using contactless? We want to try that next time.

Hi David, thanks for the information about the Birksdale bus to the glacier. Is it only one bus there at 10.05 am and one bus back at 1:30 pm in time for my 4:00 sail departure? What happens if we don’t get a seat on the bus ride back to the cruise port? We are travelling there on Aug 6. Do you know about the seat availability ?

Bergan and the fjords are some of the most beautiful places I have ever been.

I might question your definition of "budget" given the price of that zip wire ride at Flåm but it did look fun. Personally, for half that amount we'd have spent a few hours in the Ægir brewery. And we have. Both times we've visited. Interesting hearing your history with your sister. That certainly explains the low champagne tolerance. We've been to each of Bergen, Flåm, and Olden twice now, and we've done none of the things you ended up doing; no train, no Briksdal Glacier, no funicular. We'll remedy that on the next trip or the one after that, or the one after that.

Mr David, I’m glad to see your sister is well enough to cruise with you again. Your meals on Queen Anne look even better than other Cunard ships’, minus the buffet and MDR. I’ve booked QM2’s scenic Cornish cruise for my birthday in 2 years’ time and apart from the buffet, may try the deck grill, pub lunch and cafes. June

Has the menu changed since this video was made. I really enjoy Asian food and rice dishes such as nigiri sushi, chirashisushi, makisushi, Imari sushi, etc

Yum the rolls/bread in Sir Samuel’s! Lovely I love room service but you had no table to eat at? No spoon for your mousse at tea?

I was on the Queen Anne with my daughter cruising the Norwegian Fjords departing Southampton on June 23. I was particularly impressed with the new and vastly improved buffet area with food stations featuring various offerings ranging from customizable salads to fish & chips to pasta to sandwiches to roasts. We are pretty loyal Cunard customers and this arrangement was a huge step up from the other Queens. The highlights of the Specialty dining venues (read extra charge) were the steak house, Sir Samuels, and Tramonto, the Mediterranean restaurant. This video does a good job on Sir Samuel's and it is very good. We loved Tramonto although I was a bit surprised that they had no pasta offering. In both of these restaurants the service was excellent. We were a bit disappointed with the service in the Britannia Restaurant. They appeared to be understaffed and there was usually more of a wait between courses than we liked. The food was quite good and there was lots of variety. The biggest (only?) disappointment was the specialty Japanese restaurant, Aji Wa. I have spent a lot of time in Japan on business over the years and whatever they were serving wasn't Japanese food as I know it. In addition to the food on offer being odd and not delicious, practically everything had an extra charge. The other specialty venues did not do this. Avoid Aji Wa. One last tip, book the specialty dining restaurants before you get on board - the price goes up about 10% if you book on board.

Recently spent 10 days on Viva in the Haven section. Service in private dining room was fantastic but food was very mediocre thought the ship. Greasy sandwiches and burgers. The small menu was identical for all 10 days. All meals seems to be a 3/5. Went to main dining room 2x just get some variety. 4 specialty dining choices were 3/5 at best. I used to rate Norwegian cruise meals as among the best on the seas. Not Viva.

Presentation of the steaks not to Cruise standard should be no juice leaking out of the steak on the plate.

Following all of your Queen Anne videos, it was great meeting you onboard the ship. We were frankly feeling a bit negative after our time onboard, but you point out a number of positives and we’re thankful for that, makes us reconsider many of our opinions. And we loved the story of the kidney donation, thanks for sharing that!

At caneletto it’s ideal to go with a few people to try more small plates. I think they would have been happy to give you the lasagna too.

Everything is so elegant and beautiful aboard their ships. I’ve dined at the “ Veranda “ restaurant on both the Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria. Sir Samuels food offerings look very similar. The Brioche Rolls are Fantastic . Definitely a highlight on the menu. I must say that Sir Samuels does not seem as fancy in its decor design as the Veranda Room on the other Cunard ships.But I’ve heard that they went with a different look on Queen Anne , which is much more “ Contemporary and Modern “ in style ? I personally prefer the more traditional “ Art Deco “ style of the other Cunard ships ! But the Queen Anne is very grand also in her own way. So glad to hear that you and your sister are both doing well with your health ! A true blessing from God !🙏😊

Glad to see your scones at afternoon tea didn’t disintegrate into crumbs like ours did every time a knife was shown to them when we were on Queen Anne in May …they may well have tweaked the recipe ..great food review .. 👍👍

Anyone seen how bad Cunards Queen Marys gone? My thoughts are- it's because Carnival has sent it's best crew to the Queen Anne and is allocating more of their $$$$$$ in to it financially, too.

On the Eurodam we had a similar experience. We found the Pinnacle Grill o.k. But with no atmosphere. Next night we went to Tamarind and we were blown away. We wen5 back two more nights. It was incredible.

I do really like these rooms, but I think the dark colours work much better in the balcony cabins on this ship. I'll need to try and see them for myself, but I do think the inside cabins look really quite dark with those deep blues!

This is a very nice video David. Well done. Just to let you know that some inside staterooms have the bed(s) on the sidewall, therefore making it easier to watch television. Though they seem to be randomly located. ... I love your philosophy of the guarantee cabin location.

Thanks David. The dark blue makes the cabin a little darker then many (thinking Sky Princess, Iona etc) newer ships. Well done on your pragmatic view of the allocated “Guaranteed” cabin. Some you win and all that! Hope you and your sister have a great time 🙏👍
