That was so courageous to get as far as you did. All kitted up and in the seat, well done. You pushed yourself to get even that far. I remember the time I talked my schoolmate into entering a swim race. She didn’t want to do it as she didn’t like the water. She stood at the deep end and jumped in when the signal went off but then froze. I had started swimming when I realised she had stopped. I immediately went back for her and took her to the ladder. Both of us got into trouble but I was so proud that she got so far, just for me even though she was nervous and she was happy that I stopped to look after her. We didn’t care what anyone else thought and it drew us closer as friends. It was about ourself, it was about each other.
Darn, thought there'd be more ports discussed. Love the content. We leave Saturday to go back to Norway. This time a 20 night cruise all the way up to North Cape!
@admranger Thanks for watching the video! One of our ports got cancelled, so only 3 on this trip. If you look on my channel, or search for Sky Princess, you find the ones I did for our trip to the North Cape. Have a great time I’d love to do the arctic circle trip again.
I might question your definition of "budget" given the price of that zip wire ride at Flåm but it did look fun. Personally, for half that amount we'd have spent a few hours in the Ægir brewery. And we have. Both times we've visited. Interesting hearing your history with your sister. That certainly explains the low champagne tolerance. We've been to each of Bergen, Flåm, and Olden twice now, and we've done none of the things you ended up doing; no train, no Briksdal Glacier, no funicular. We'll remedy that on the next trip or the one after that, or the one after that.
Thanks for watching the video! Also appreciate the comments. True, the Zipline wasn’t really a budget activity…. I did get it much cheaper than booking via the cruise line though. The train in Flam was amazing, as was the Briksdal Glacier in Olden. I can’t wait to go back. Hope you are both doing well. David
Can you explain what happened with Jane and the zipline? 😂 Loved this video, excellent all around. Quick question about the local bus, did you just pay for it onboard using contactless? We want to try that next time.
@callingallports Haha, don’t get me started on the Zipline again! She panicked and then left me to it!! I don’t even like heights and it was her idea in the first place!! But hey, that’s not for now!! I would certainly do it again though. Yes, in Olden the local bus to the Glacier accepts cash or card (contactless), except Amex. You should 100% do it next time. It’s such a great option that doesn’t cost very much at all. Best wishes to you both and thanks for watching the video. David
Hi David, thanks for the information about the Birksdale bus to the glacier. Is it only one bus there at 10.05 am and one bus back at 1:30 pm in time for my 4:00 sail departure? What happens if we don’t get a seat on the bus ride back to the cruise port? We are travelling there on Aug 6. Do you know about the seat availability ?
@katherinegan9196 Hi and thanks for the comments. Yes it’s one bus there and the same bus back! I wouldn’t worry about the seat availability. I’ve done this twice and I’m always amazed how few passengers take this bus. Don’t worry about it and have a great adventure! Trust me, it’s the cheapest, most scenic bus ride ever! (You can pay with cash or card, except Amex). Which ship are you on?
Thanks David, and Jane! We are very impressed by your swift response. We will definitely and confidently take the public bus 115 to and from Birksdale Glacier. We love your videos- lots of relevant and realistic information, perfect pace, real pictures, personal and humourous too! And no noisy background music too!Thats why we are subscribed! We sail in Aug 3 on Sky Princess from Southampton. We are from Toronto and much looking forward to meeting pleasant people like you from the UK. Hope to meet you by chance on another voyage!
@katherinegan9196 Lovely comments, thank you very much. comments like this, make it all worthwhile! The Sky Princess is a beautiful ship and I’m sure you’ll have a great cruise. I’m a big fan of Princess and have sailed with them the most. Best wishes, David

You should do it! It’s amazing!
Norway is so beautiful! It reminds me a lot of Alaska.
@aimeerogers4542
Yes, very much like Alaska. I’d love to go back to Alaska one day soon.
