There was an earlier band, using the name The Grass Roots, led by Arthur Lee and Bryan MacLean, well-known on the LA scene. Fans started coming up to Arthur and Bryan, saying, "Love your new record!". Arthur said, "What record? We don't have a record contract". Turns out Arthur hadn't trademarked the name Grass Roots. So Arthur and Bryan changed the name of their band to LOVE. Maybe you have heard of them. This also explains why Arthur's music publisher was called Grass Roots Music. Now there's someone you should do a report on.

To his credit, he never had any truck with sectarianism. He was a thorough professional and expected others to be professional. He fell out with a lot in the industry, usually because they weren't.

This man sang the most loving song for all of us who once were 16! At my old age I still listen to this song daily! He brought so much care for ALL 16 year olds! who can ever forget! Thanks to Benny for singing to us 16 year olds NOW and FOREVER you will always be part of my life because of “ INTO THE NIGHT”! I was a fan during their heyday in the late 60s and early 70s. They should have called it quits in 1975. By then they seemed dated and as the saying goes "overstayed their welcome." Today as you know none of the original members are with the group so they might as well call themselves The Grass Roots Tribute Band. I think that's funny that VH1 scrapped their episode because they weren't compelling. Such is life.

She is the voice of Hey There Georgie Girl. Her band was as popular as The Beatles in her home country of Australia. Take some time and listen to her. Her voice and her band are brilliant!!!

I wished Lynne had better management who had original songs written for her. Alas during that time is was easier and cheaper to have an artist copy some song not played on Aussie radio. Ciao Baby was a hit in the uk for the Scottish Group, The Montanas, 12 months prior. It was this crappy treatment by both management, radio that lead her to her demise.

I attended London Central High School in the late 60s. Dan Peek picked a fight with me one day. We were both “involved”’ with Cathy Maybury and he didn’t like that. To this day he is the only person who has ever struck me with a fist. So much for his “Christian” faith. I was saddened to learn from this video that she passed away in 2021.

Cal Jam 2 opening act on day one {Ebony Eyes} was a classic start to the mega concert. A genius in disguise, Hypnotized is a masterpiece and it is a shame he was not inducted into the hall of fame when Fleetwood Mac received the nod. RIP Bob your legacy will not be forgotten my brother!

In 1981 I was lucky enough to see Talk Talk with Elvis Costello in Asbury Park, New Jersey at the Convention Hall. It was when they came to the U.S. in support of the first album and hit "Talk Talk". It was a fantastic show.

I think you left out Durham blindsided her Seekers partners when she left without notice or reason. She said in an interview she did not think it would bother them that much!
