@HarmonyHeartsLifestyle-ul5yv. Thank you for your work on this video featuring Peter Green. Back in 1967 - as a first year pupil, I was queuing for my school dinner when I heard two second formers talking. The first one - Danny, said “There’s this bloke who lives in my block of flats and he can really play the electric guitar - I mean “really” play”. His mate said “Have you spoken to him? What’s his name? Is he in a band?” Danny said “He’s very shy. When I pass him on the stairs, he doesn’t look up or say hello. Keeps himself to himself. But I reckon that one day he will be big”. Fast forward to a BBC TV programme on Peter Green and his life. The production team go to a block of flats in Old Bethnal Green Road, London E.2. to show where Peter Green(baum) - (and Danny from my old school) grew up. Lots of Jewish immigrants with the family names Greenberg, Greenstein, Greenbaum etc. who came to the U.K.changed their name to just “Green” as it sounded “more English”.Thanks again. A Happy Christmas to you and yours. Stay safe and well.
Omg Mark you must have spun out when you realized who it was? 😲 It's like you were meant to hear what they said that day and then by chance watch the BBC program also ❤ Thank you so much for sharing that memory, it really was fate! Thank you also for your kind words and may you and your loved ones have an amazing & safe Christmas also my friend 🤗🎅🌲💞
*One more heartfelt Thank You, H & H L: For this focus on Peter and his Colleagues during the 'real' Fleetwood Mac era.* _This appreciated upload takes me back to circa 1968 days et al., when, in youthful hopes, I was really content, happy and full of expectations._ Season's Greetings. Rab
So pleased you enjoyed it Rab 🥰 Yes music can take us back to certain places, people and times in our lives ❤ The excitement that life brings when youre young mellows like fine wine as we age with beautiful sweet memories left behind 🤗💕💕💕 Stay safe and Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones my friend 🎅🌲
Oh I'm so happy you enjoyed it Jayne 🤗 I had never heard of him before so it was very interesting to do 😁👌 Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend my friend ❤
Seems like a fair summary of Peter's life. So many potted biogs refer to the Munich incident and more or less write him off after that. Whereas you've shown there was a lot more recording and performing to come, even with or in spite of, his mental issues.
Thank you so much for your kind words 💓 They truly mean the world to me. I always strive to honor the artists I cover by showcasing the full scope of their lives and giving them the respect they deserve. There's so much more to a person than their struggles or a tragic moment in their journey, those shouldn't define us or overshadow our achievements 💕 Thank you again for your heartfelt comment 🤗
Peter had so much in common with Syd Barrett. Mental issues, drugs, and, at least with Syd, he loved music a lot, but hated the never-ending demands of the "business" side of the music world.
YES! I had those vibes whilst making it and it saddened me 😓 What a waste of exceptional talent, just like Syd 💔 Thanks for watching I appreciate you 💝💕
It wasn't until the Buckingham/Nicks phase that FM finally broke the US market and achieved superstar status here.. Before that, the band's revolving door period got little notice here. The East End of London has had a large Jewish population for decades. I saw John Mayall. Have you produced an episode about him? I also thought about Alex Chilton too.
Yes I had known little about Fleetwood Mac's original lineup until recently and always thought they were American tbh lol By doing these videos I've learnt so much about all sorts of musicians I never would of known of in my lifetime which is awesome 🥰 I get so absorbed in some I almost feel like I know them 😆 I haven't done a vid on John Mayall but he was bookmarked so have thought about it previously by the looks ☺👍 I had a quick peek at Alex and he certainly has a vast history in music and looks very interesting. Thank you for sharing your suggestions and insights into the music industry-they are always greatly appreciated Chris ❤
@@HarmonyHeartsLifestyle-ul5yv My pleasure. FM was part of the late 60s British Blues Revival but failed to make an impression. Today I thought of Alvin Lee of Ten Years After and Arthur Lee of the US band Love.
No greater muscian ever lived than this guy....very sad and tragic , one of Englands biggest and best sons....RIP Sir.
At work and just done the Christmas shopping for my work I'm knackered. But when I get home I will be watching this ❤
