RIP Twinkle, some wonderful tracks and still sounding good today, sad story of someone who was a very good singer and performer. Thanks for this, very well done as always.
Twinkle ⭐ star still shines she was cool lovely person stiil listen to songs her version of End of the World still the very best ever On record give it a spin you'll agree Twinkle 🌟🌟💜🌟🌟🌟💙🌟🌟❤🌟🌟🌟💚🌟🌟🌟
Before today, I had never heard of her. I just watched a clip from the 1964 NME Poll Winners' Concert, and she's singing Terry. I liked it. She was very pretty, and I noticed that her bangs hairdo was her trademark. When you talked about her upbringing, I knew she came from a Tory family. I'll betcha the bikers were rockers. I remember reading about the US ban years ago due to the glut of UK bands touring the USA. The Rolling Stones, Herman's Hermits, Del Shannon, and Mike D'Abo are some accolades.
And a big hurrah for those independent pirate radio stations who defiantly gave us the music we wanted and their own interpretation of the news, and were ultimately silenced by yet another socialist government bent upon media control...
Regarding the Shangri- Las Leader of the Pack song. Apparently the BBC banned it from radio play ,because at that time there were two vying youth cultures ie. the Greasers ( motorcycle gangs) and the Mods ( who rode scooters) . It was common that these two tribes often had violent clashes in urban areas and on roads. The BBC felt this song about the death of a Greaser would be used to insult Greasers by the Mods and lead to more violence and possibly accidents.
As a fan of 60s music, I appreciate it that this channel features the stories of some of the lesser known stars.

'Terry' is a great record but 'Golden Lights' is even better. Thanks.
*Rest In Peace, Lynne.* 💓
_Bye for now._ Rab 👋
Sad story. She came from a completely different background to me, but I think she meant well as a human being.
