This is Matt's small DM break before running 3 simultaneous campaign ending BBEG fights. This is about to be the largest scale combat in CR history since the Siege of Emon and the final battle with Vecna. And that is not including any guests that might be stoping by ontop of that. This is going to be fucking crazy.

Considering what I wrote about level difference and power difference from level 20 vs level 15 chars THIS episode made sense. Bells going after Ludinus and Nein going after the Hive (still going to be an insane fight). I am very sorry @ZodiacBandit, I love your vids but I had expectations for this 111 episode and they were let down BIG TIME! Let me explain. The acting was wonderful. All the folks did an amazing job with their characters, flaws or no flaws they were flawless to me. I LOVE the cast and have nothing bad to say about them. I felt like it dragged out. Story was very slow. Yes interactions were pretty good for the most part but just dragged. I actually felt I wanted it to end and when it did I felt better because the ending is what saved it for me. Caleb is TRULY a very powerful Wizard and his guidance to mostly Imogen was what she needed. OH OH I almost forgot, I really like how Sam / Braius told Matt directly through story-telling that he was VERY torn about the gods but he definitely serves Lords of Hells right now. I couldn't BELIEVE how honest Braius was with Cadusus, that was crazy. I still think Braius is waiting for the DM to bring forth the Platnum Dragon to offer something to Braius in order to switch and if that doesn't happen....well I guess we know where he will stand at the end won't we? I felt bad overall for writing about my disappointment of this episode but I do not want to lie. I hope they quickly make their way to where ever they are going and split up then make 1 episode this fight, and the other episode, that fight.

Its really hell(at least for me) when i have to play or voice my charcters at the same time... its not fun...

I couldn't stop giggling throughout the the whole thing. Especially Matt's reaction during session. Speaking of the Jerseys, it reminds me of the first time they sold T-shirts on Geek and Sundry. The shirts went out just as quick. A strange coincidence, maybe or maybe not. LOL edit ( maybe I should read further down the comments before I comment. I missed someone beat me to about the Jerseys.)

That jersey story of them being sold out within 8 minutes is reminiscent of their first ever shirts being sold out MID-ANNOUNCEMENT. Episode 7 of Campaign 1, by the way. Time is a flat circle.

This episode’s hijinks and multi character buffoonery had me cracking up and I loved Matt reveling in the chaos he orchestrated

Also, I absolutely manifested that this episode would be titled "The Nein Hells".

This episode's got everything. And it felt just right, with the Mighty Nein (the middle children) propping up the younger Bells Hells and offering them advice and guidance. And also, a safe space to relieve the pressure valve, so to speak.

I don’t often get to watch cr live (I live in the uk and it starts airing at 3am), this episode I did. And honestly, I’m glad I did.

I really fell they are over reacting on his joke. Multiple people made similar jokes. Just cuz his joke was a miss doesn't mean it was inappropriate. You wanna focus on how he was cheating fine wanna focus on how he was meta gaming completely fair. But the joke is nip picking

There was alot of good times. In the first 27. Don't let orien ruin it. Tiberius even has a few hilarious moments. Hate he was a cheater hate that he meta gamed but there alot of good stuff there

BRO going off of what I just said in my other comment... What if campaign 3 characters are ALL killed off but later memorialized because of the win that will eventually happen? Then after, both Mighty Nein and Vox make fun of the weirdos who did SO much to help but just died because they were weak. LOL! I crack myself up thinking like this. I could totally see them doing that to themselves.

You said it @ZodiacBandit, Scanlan will more than likely show up late to 'save' the day. TOTAL Scanlan deal 100%. I do not personally think they will do a 'Search for Scanlan' one-shot. That doesn't sound right for some reason. I just want to say this. The power dynamic is ...off. Campaign 3 vs 2 characters is HUGE! Sorry but barely level 14/15 characters vs level 20 characters is HUGE! The difference is so enormous that if they face off with multiple level 20 enemies, 1 of the enemies (just like the death of FCG enemy) could lay waste to campaign 3 characters. The power is real, the dmg is INSANE! Lvl 20 chars have a huge advantage over the lower levels regarding that. Not ONLY that, but capabilities too. IF they hold off a bit (which I don't see how they can because assault is happening literally right now) then level to 16+ OK, but ya....I don't see it how Campaign 3 chars are going to work well unless Matt shows mercy on them.

Zerxus Ilerewould be an interesting guest character for Vox Machina?

Matt should give robbie random npc sheets and tell him to have fun and just see robbie burn threw like 8 low level characters or high level just to set the tone of oh yeah these make the other main baddies of past campaigns to Shame

I respect Sam's choice but since they're Already so insistent on Having a crossover between the campaigns he should have just played one of the characters that connects them. Definitely not Scanlan but his daughter or even Tarry

A reason for Scanlan to be "hard to find" could be that Sam still doesn't know if he could pull off play Scanlan as in sing. He had mentioned that he is having problems sing since his surgery.

I find it odd that Matt made such a point of Scanlan being missing (I believe it’s been mentioned before as well). I doubt he would cut ties and disappear again, I think he learned his lesson the last time. And Keyleth seems frustrated about it, almost like his disappearance was sudden and unexpected, like he just stopped picking up the phone. We also need to consider that fact that Vox Machina and their allies have access to a lot of magic that makes finding someone trivial. Keyleth alone could easily scry on Scanlan and teleport through a tree to his location. If he doesn’t want to come, that’s a different story, but they would at least know where he is. The fact that Keyleth can’t find him at all is very significant and I think there is something more going on.

I get the feeling Robbie isn’t comfortable playing an established NPC or someone else’s former character, which is totally understandable. Introducing a new character that just happens to show up with the Mighty Nein wouldn’t make any sense. There may be some interesting opportunities to introduce a new character later though, like a ruidian or a disgraced former member of the weavemind.

If not Scanlan I would love Sam to play one of Scanlan and Pike's kids.

I don't believe they will have guest stars on the VM and M9 episodes, because it will detract away from characters we haven't seen in a while. We have already seen all 7 members of M9, so there is no pre-existing PC/NPC that is joining them for their mission on the moon. Meaning, unless they introduce a new character on the moon which joins them it will only be the original 7 members. For VM we are only missing Scanlan and Vax from the original group, Scanlan is likely going to be picked up to begin VMs episodes as a group reunion. Despite Vax being a sphere they could theoretically begin their attack and free him from the key, however they would still need to deactivate/destroy it after. So they begin without Liam at the table and then he joins it as Vax. In my opinion after the events of C3 they are doing either a soft or hard reset to Exandria. They will either have C4 be in a entirely new Exandria (Dagger Heart system) or will have it take place we haven't heard of completely removed from the know Exandria (still D&D). I view this campaign as a send of to the interconnected world they built up over the years, as either way they will not have next campaigns be tied to C1/2/3 butnit would be a stand alone story in a new land. Having new characters in a send off to the previous characters would feel wrong.

I really just hope the mighty nein bring Essek with them for the assault. He is a member of the mighty nein and this looking like a final blaze of glory for exandria. Like I really like for the end of campaign 2 when they dsends into Aeor Essek is there and he is there for every combat until the end. And also he was barely in the last 3 one shots.

We will see, but I think Liam will just play Vax and simply wont be present at the beginning of the fight. I think VM will rescue him and then he will be present from then on.

Maybe I am confused about how all this is going to go down. But my understanding is that the players are going to be playing their different characters at the same time and that it wasn't going to be a stand alone one shot with just the Mighty Nein. And if that's the case, there is no reason for Robbie leaving the table as he still has to play Dorian. That is why Matt is so excited because the players have to play more than one character at the same time as Matt often does and now it's the players turn. So if the players are playing all their characters at once, then there is no reason why Robbie should not to be there. So I find your thought about Robbie not being there as Dorian a bit confusing.

I don’t believe Bertrand ever mentioned to Bella Hells about their relationship he definitely said her name as he was dying, but I don’t think he ever talked about her to the group. Therefore, the group wouldn’t know their relationship to even bring it up.

For Liam it will be good character, Vox Machina are lvl 20, so it suits him to play this character. More important, he already played with Vox Machina so it is better for sense in their meeting. Scanlan, well, I never liked him but I think that he is the only reasonable option for Sam. But, but, Sam is crazy so he might make some other choice. I agree with you that Robbie should stay away for one shots VM and MN. It is no sense for someone else to join this groups and be reasonable for them to trust each other. NPC are far to old and experiences to join such a thing. They have far more important political bullshit to manage now. Really waiting for friday to watch next episode 😁

I’m really curious to see how they will handle interactions between their own two characters. Matt, of course, has been playing numerous NPCs going back and forth since the beginning, but Sam is the only player that has played two characters at the same time (Scanlan and Terri in C1). As for Robbie, I think he probably didn’t feel comfortable playing an established NPC (understandably so) and a new character in a group of FIFTEEN would just get drowned out. I imagine he’ll just play Darian while the parties are merged and either pick up another one on the way or just sit out the 1-2 sessions of the Mighty Nine’s mission.

1 platinum is only worth 10 gold, not 100, so they got 900gp of jewels for 120gp. It’s not the first time they have gotten it mixed up, but the fact that Matt (Cedric) didn’t say anything makes me think that maybe they got swindled into buying counterfeits. Also, fusaka is not a drug, it is actually just a cooking spice used in Marquet, albeit a very expensive one. In C1, Scanlan THINKS it’s a drug and it’s a whole thing. Cedric convincing Bell’s Hells that it’s a drug is just a little throw back.

Not sure if you watched the Cool Down after show. But they confirmed that Robbie does not have a mighty 9 character. However that does not matter because for the next episode or maybe even longer the group will be playing both teams at the same time. so everyone will have 2 characters to play except Robbie who only has to worry about playing Dorian. They were all discussing how insane it is going to be to try to keep personalities and knowledge separate. Matt , of course was reveling in the situation saying “welcome to my life” to the rest of the cast.

I hope that Braius redeems himself and forgives Jester and Veth and follows the Raven Queen

They recently came out with season 3 of vox machina and theres a nod to tiberius in the 3rd or 4th episode... *But they used a character that died in the attempt to seal thordak away with kima and allura during there time as adventurers.* Her name was dohla lorian and ngl they did this dragonborn sorcerer dirty for a obvious middle finger to orion. They could of just adressed it as tiberius had a falling out with the group in the underdark and went there seperate ways then to have him die protecting vox machina from vorugal to give him a proper send off like they did when percy discovered his remains but instead they went with this ... Idk it kinda irks me abit that they take a character that isnt even tiberius to give a good introduction to her only to throw her in the trash moments later

I agree it was slow, doing and reiterating for a long time isn't my cup o tea either. But it plays to some people's styles, so i understand them sing it. The last half got better and the last 5 minutes with them playing both sets of characters and switching back and forth was great. I believe Matt thoroughly and truly enjoyed everyone else having to finally switch up and talk to others as more than one character at the same time. That certainly can't be an easy task for them, but at least many of them are well practiced.
