hello, great job as always. My question is that I see that you did the plastigauge measurement on the new bearings but I've seen other videos where it is done with the old bearings is there a difference or reason why both methods? thanks in advance
Saludos de Perú
Great video thank you
Superman! Thanks from Spain!
If you delete a particulate filter, where do the particles end up going?
Hi does the new module need coding or is it plug and play
Is the valley pan supposed to be full of coolant like that? Or is it only full because of the leak?
What wheels are fitted to the x5?
great info
Can anyone advise on what time the AITV is disconnected in the video? My instruction state to unplug this in addition to EGR plus and vacuum. In particular the location of the AITV plug on a 2017 F250. Thanks
Damn fine video, helped me tremendously! Thank you very much.
For everyone who wants to do the oil change themselves, there is a specific oil fill procedure it needs to be followed. This video shows the easy bits. It is not that simple....
Great video, thank you for uploading... What is the part number for the water pump small O ring and where did you purchase it?
I have a question about the crankshaft position. I see people rotate the crankshaft 45 degrees to the right from the position you set the crankshaft. Do you know what the difference is between your method and others?
So that being said u don’t really have to delete the dpf or mess with a tuner kit if one chooses to only delete egr and ccv right?
How are yall accessing the top bolts i cant reach on top of mine what am i doing wrong im confused
i got same issuce, i dont has the tool working on it,i like watch your video frequency
best detailed video I've seen on a n55. Good work bro! and god i hate N55 motors lol
Fantastic job really appreciate the detail and your clear explanation about everything. Awesome bro thank you so much
No EGR/Intake port carbon clean or has this been done previously? Like your style of speaking, calm and measured.
What BS from BMW. The same idiots who designed this chain position obviously came from Audi! My consideration is put a more robust double row chain if you are going to design it in an PITA position for expensive (normally stealership) maintenance. I remember the Audi response was that they thought the chain would last the life of the engine.......clearly screwed that up Audi. In my particular case, the idiots at the BMW stealership had the 100,000 mile N57 engine on the "extended" service schedule, morons. The other one has 150,000 mile, so it was just due. Another reason I love my M57 engines, chain at the front.
Yes, perfect time to do an EGR and port carbon clean with the inlet manifold off. I also do a torque converter overhaul if I have more than 120,000 miles (or Km equivalant). Cheap insurance for your ZF8HP70, nothing worse than a worn TQ clutch putting metal thru your trans. I have a couple of E70 LCI's awaiting this work in my shop right now.
Great video Woody!!!! My 2019 is deleted and tuned. Guy that deleted the truck just turned off the EGR with the tune. I am wanting to remove the cooler now and do a manifold and piping kit. Can I just do what you did in the video and not have to mess with the tune?
Bmw engineers are so bad in the world, that is shame for bmw , its marketingall in
Great Vid!! was wondering if you remember or noticed if the vacuum actuator valve was open under vacuum or closed?
Doing this maintenance on my x5 35d tomorrow!👍
Can this be done without the engine coming out
🔥🔥
U are extremely brave and or absolutely insane !! More power to ya boss. These BMWs are complete garbage due to all their dumb ass issues !! I own between wife ,kids and my self 4 of em a x4 x6 328xi and a 550i. Love em all and absolutely hate them all equally as much 🤦🏼
Hello thank you for all you help And very educational videos I have a 550i with milky oil in my engine is this can cause that any suggestions besides head gaskets thanks
I also have a x5d, and a doberman. Your doberman seems to be brighter than mine
I'm in the UK, I've got a BMW X5 2005 e53 4.8is 98k on the clock, I've converted it to run on LPG and it's so much better than petrol and it hasn't lost any power or performance, I've changed the ignition coiks, installed a new xtrons head unit, installed a new id4motion instrument cluster, new battery, serviced the automatic transmission fluid and filter, changed the engine oil, new real lights, serviced the front and rear diffs, 4 new 20inch tyres front and rear, new front steering components, and the rear too, so the back tyres sit on the road correctly, my X5 4.8iS V8 as an absolute beast! 29 yrs old and it's the best car I've ever owned.
Simplest and most useful video for this. Took me an hour start to finish. Hardest part is the rubber protector cap and inserting the part back up into the car. Just need this video and the usual patience. My air hose was able to pop out of the original part so I simply screwed it back into the new part. Literally saved $000s. Lower car slowly. at right height compressor will kick in while car is running. Thanks, Woody!
I’m starting today wish me luck 😅
How did it go?
@@racingislife7916it was not an easy task but with some time and patience it went well
THANK YOU FOR PUTTING THIS OUT THERE. MY X5 DIESEL 2014 NEEDS THE TIMING CHAIN REPLACED AT 120K MILES. THE BMW DEALERSHIP ESTIMATED ME FOR 14K TO DO. MY CONCERN IS THAT MY VEHICLE WAS VISITED FOR MAINTENANCE BY ONLY THE DEALERSHIP. ACCORDING TO AN OUTSIDE MECHANIC THAT SPECIALIZES ON BMW DIESEL, HE STATED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THAT THE OIL CHANGE WAS BEING REPLACED BY THE COMPUTER READOUT OF 10K MILES. IN ADDITION, THE STOP AND GO FEATURE CREATES TENSION TO THE TIMING CHAIN….LIKE HOW MUCH ARE YOU SAVING ON DIESEL FUEL WHEN CAR SHUT OFF FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS BEFORE IT TURNS ON TO PROCEED WITH DRIVING?? MY VEHICLE WILL BE FIXED AND WILL NOW GET OIL SERVICE EVERY 3,500 MILES.
Is it possible to do this on a car by just removing transmission ?
TERRIBLE job at showing how the parking lever goes in.
greetings! i follow you on youtube for all the tutorials, thanks for everything bro. i have a problem with a 2010 bmw e70 x5 n52 6hp19 transmission, i would really appreciate it if you gave me your opinion. the jeep sat for a long time without being used, now we started using it and the transmission started to work weird until yesterday when i tried to put it in drive the gear lever would go forward a little and the lever would go over P by itself, when i try to put it in reverse i accelerate to 3,000 rpm and it moves a little slowly and the lever would go back to P by itself. i scanned it with my equipment and the dtc code it gives me is 4f97 ratio monitoring clutch B-D and in the vtg transferbox 54c6 oil wear. i was investigating and i see that this problem is said to be corrected with the mechatronics repair kit that includes some seals and the transmission oil pan. I would like to know if the problem is really solved with this or if I have to change the transmission completely because I don't have much money and I don't want to waste time and money on the kit and oil and have to change the transmission anyway. I would really appreciate your opinion, brother. Thanks!
Hi Woody , I have an issue with my *BMW F15 X5 35i Executive 2014* Automatic Transmission & Gearbox. It's Jumping gears, struggling to stay on gear and after a few minutes we see a "drivetrain issue" warning on the dashboard. Have you come across this issue before. If yes , how can we fix this
WOODY ANOTHER LIFE SAVER VIDEO GOD BLESS FRIEND THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR TALENT
What are the wheels on it? Thanks in advance!
Great video! Thank you! About to start reassembly. '08 ~170k
any one know the part number for the oil thermostat bolts? The E10 & the E12.
It baffles me when someone goes to all the trouble of making a video like this and doesn’t even bother with proper torque specs.
Clock wise until you hear a crack and then back a quarter turn
It's not only bmw.. also mercedes does this, in both vans as big trucks.. and there are more. Ofcourse in trucks it's with gears not a chain
Great video.😊 Could you share the link on this “shock absorber tools”?
Hopefully you replaced those o-rings on those oil lines. Great video. The plastics on european cars all had to be made under thier very strict biodegradable regulations. Its unfortunate because many of thier gaskets and engine components are made of plastic, not to mention all the interior components. Since the engine gets so hot and the engine compartment, all the plastic components age twice as fast at least. It really hurts the reliability and reputation of thier vehicles. The poor 7 series is probably suffered from this the most. In most case, they were totaled out due to repair cost.
Nice job my man
After doing service, is there need to doing any update reset on the system or mileage reading?
