hello, great job as always. My question is that I see that you did the plastigauge measurement on the new bearings but I've seen other videos where it is done with the old bearings is there a difference or reason why both methods? thanks in advance
Just wondering whether when installing the bearings you should be putting on assembly lube on both sides? Wouldn't you just have lube on the side that contacts with the crankshaft and leave the side that contacts with the rod dry? I'm thinking putting oil/lube on the rod side would increase the risk of a spun bearing?? Thoughts everyone?
@@sebastianmiticky2491 but what if you change main bearings and all the stuff? i heard it can last long if u change them every 60-70k , also, first time when the car gets fucked, it will get fucked every next time you rebuild it, only solution is the new engine.
@@guesswho6906 oil Pump, and main bearings needs to be replaced. Bmw usually installs kolben Schmitt, but in this engine the put unknown main bearings.
How many miles was on the engine? It would help me decide on whether to do mine.😅
No EGR/Intake port carbon clean or has this been done previously? Like your style of speaking, calm and measured.

I've always left the back dry, assembly lube on bearing surface only. Greater risk of the bearing spinning if you lube the back.
What’s sings of wearing of rod bearings and timing chain , just got f15 n57 with 92k miles
Thanks Woody!
Great video!
Nice! Hope for more videos :D
Can You help me with the torque settings of the conrod please!!
Can this be done without the engine coming out
Why this measuring with plastic gauge are needen? I can't understand, what we should do with this information?
where to buy engine bearing clearance guage link please
I like to gamble. Slaps in rod bearings.
Hey Brother - I think Im local to you and I got some E70/N57 questions. Im going to shoot you an email - would appreciate your input!
Rod bearings are not same top and bottom. You did not cover that. S or sputter goes into the rod end, unmarked goes in the cap.
What's the torque settings for the bolts
for brand new shoul be 30nm and 70+70 degree
@@bimmerwrecker1513 this is actually false the torque is 20nm and then 70degree angle only
