    49 years male here, and I left the corporate BS and office games. I have left so many jobs I lost count. I now live avoiding most people as much as I can. These companies can careless about employees and giving promotions. It's about saving costs and how they can screw the hardest worker. and the pay isn't worth sticking around for a raise. It's much easier to find a new job with higher pay. Outside of work, its just me and my dog I have a nice nest egg for retirement and live below my means. Also forget about dating and women, as its a mess in the US. It's much better to be alone and do what you want when you want. . The entire system is broken, and only the ew make it. I don't see myself going back and sticking to my side hustle, like my podcast, to support myself. Great video!

      People struggling to find work need to do one of two things (or both)....either train for a field in demand such as healthcare or move to where the jobs are. I live in Texas (North of Dallas) and nearly every place is hiring. Lots of new businesses moving here and lots of growth potential in nearly every field. Remote work is rare so job seekers need to face this reality and be willing to adapt.

    Man this old corpo ain't quite getting it yet, the companies are paying child size salaries so they're expecting childish behavior, but profit being profit they won't change pay to match current population until it's too late and the machine making millions breaks down. Story as old as time so you just have to make your profit off of others pain. Nowadays that means 1099 charging 450 an hour. But since they'res no job security in that we can't build really good things that'll dominate the international market.

    I am a corporate recruiter. IT went down hard in late 2022 and has not yet recovered. In addition to James LinkedIn post, ATS sort people in the order they came in, so spending hours perfecting a resume is actually detrimental to getting an interview. You should not be re-making your resume for each position, as that lowers your chances of getting an interview due to how ATS sort people. You should find up to four job titles that you meet the qualifications for and create a resume for each of those job titles based on those keywords and qualifications. Use those resumes to mass apply to jobs. Quality AND quantity of your resume matters.

    Of course there are limits. Is still tough to get a job as a TN worker, and most employes will only want us to be there for at least a year or 2. We can't apply for full time job positions. We are meant to return after our time is over, and we are often abused and mistreated as TN workers. We are no taking away jobs at all. There are still thousands of jobs postings only available for USA citizens only.

    I think my professionalism hurts me in interviews. It seems dumb at first then you have to think. Am I over performing and scaring off the company? Would the person potentionally hiring me scared I might take their job? It's insane you have to think about these things while remaining competent at the same time, and for me, thats really rough, it's hard to just turn off being "professional" enough to land a job.

    They do these ghost jobs where they don’t even intend on hiring anyone. Also I agree for weeks they put that guy in emotional distress. I actually read that some of these companies post job ads to help candidates think 🤔 they are hiring and to boost their morale. They have to be sick in the head to think like this, of course unless their budget isn’t finalized, perhaps they are waiting for interest payments from the stock market for their budget, this is the typical game of corporate businesses

    • @KJJ782
      @KJJ782 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No I think it’s more supply and demand for jobs. There is a high demand for good jobs and more candidates, so the recruiters are being picky. I personally blame the politicians over the years where they promised people a bunch of jobs and good paying corporate jobs. They need to stop spinning the narrative and just tell the truth if they are not hiring

    Companies are stupid! It's been that way for decades. About 20 years ago I was looking for a senior developer position in NYC and had a heck of a time despite awesome references. Just some bad luck with companies going under. I interviewed - multiple interviews with several groups! - at one place and after all of that they told me they weren't interested. Then about 6 months later a recruiter got me in again. Different team interviewed me and I got the position immediately. They tried to stiff the recruiter and wanted me to lie about the situation, which I refused to do. I ended up rising to lead developer and architect on the most important projects and leading all the previous teams that rejected me. No hard feelings, I was all business. That job ended when 9/11 happened though. Another job I was given a technical interview and asked for my detailed evaluation of a system architecture. I told them it wouldn't be scalable as they needed and suggested a different direction. I was told I had no idea what I was talking about and then told right to my face that my education as stated on my resume was fake. I told them to call the school right there and find out. Obviously I stepped on someone's toes. The list goes on and on. At this point I won't go through ANY interview process. I will only take on work from those in my industry who know me. Thus my advice: get really good on one particular thing and be THE expert in it. Help others out and solve their problems and don't demand credit. At some point work will come to you.

    That’s not a scavenger hunt at all! That’s a competency test for small law firm that will need the receptionist to do some basic research and mailing tasks from time to time… You show initiative and land the job, they’ll likely help you go through a paralegal course and move on up in the firm! Law firms are like tribal families! Or a mob family, you show initiative and respect, they’ll reciprocate handsomely! For young 20-25 yo woman, that’s a great opportunity!

    Whatsapp msg is usually a red flag for scam. There is always a power dynamics difference between employers and candidates. The difference is especially noticeable during economic downturn. The stuff most redditors mentioned have been common for junior tech workers for decades in Canada. When a fresh grad complains about it, everyone told the fresh grad to shut down until it is their turn to the slaughterhouse. The idea of getting into big tech is eventually you move to shilling courses to get into a glorious job in big tech.

    HR is high on acid maybe even enjoying good old tidepods and paint thinner creating these bullshit job reqs./quals. Every single day I read horror story after horror story and post after post on both Linkedin and Reddit about more than qualified people in depressing amount of debt in the process of losing their home and already well on their merry way to homelessness that can't get a damn job. Also these kids that come out and actually want to kickstart their career/pay off student load debt that can't because the bar for "entry level" jobs keeps getting raised higher than the time before that it's obviously no longer entry level.

  • @THE_GUY_WITH_THE_BOWTIE
    @THE_GUY_WITH_THE_BOWTIE 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I don't want to be the bearer of bad news here, but here is something to think about. It all comes down to supply and demand. If there is too much of something regardless of what it is the supply is high and demand is low. When people start realizing that the supply is too high they go on to something else. This then will decrease supply and then increase demand. This is all cyclical and we are in the part of the cycle that has too much supply not enough demand, eventually the pendulum will swing the other way, but not as fast as what alot of people want that pendulum to swing. That's why it is important to retool and have a diverse tool set so that you are not so dependent on a singular skill set.
