Janeway could have been no other than Mulgrew, the best captain SS has ever had.

Have never thought to watch TOS bc always considered it too out of my era - growing up on Janeway and Picard. But wow! Just watched it last night and was completely blown away. Of course there's dated effects and set pieces, and the acting resembles the era I'm sure, but it's easy to overlook with how amazing the story is. Great dialogue and acting in parts, great concept, cool otherworldly set and fun practical effects - an excellent overall package.

Boooooooo, Gene Roddenberry would have never agree to this trash series. Especially all the lqudgtp alphabet people nonsense. And he would have sued for trashing his idea

Linda Hamilton would have been a brilliant captain. Kate was to serious and felt like you were watching your grandma on the show......

Of all the modern Star Trek's Enterprise is my favourite yes more than TNG. My only complaint is it didn't get the full 9 seasons. I love the way they are writing the book as they go. Shuttle pod 1 is a great episode although the criticisms are valid. And yes tapul has a very nice bum.

I always thought this was a really good episode too. It really was the beginning of Malcolm and trips friendship. It did really make me feel like I was stranded with them and some of the scenes were difficult than in a good way

I've not watched prodigy but agree with your takes on the rest of the pilot episodes....and because of that I'm going to give prodigy a try.

I DID check Memory Alpha; it appears that this episode was NOT a TNG leftover.

I find the leader of the colony so annoying I always skip this on rewatches.

This is a good episode, I think this episode falls into the great concept, great build up, great execution, oh wait we cannot make this into a 2 part episode quick find a resolution, episode ends. Which Star Trek is known for.

The most memorable part of this one is Sisko coming out of the ship, staggering back to the hot box, and collapsing back inside it. Without a word, he tells Alixus to go 🤬 herself.

I clicked on this video just to say that in the thumbnail you look like a mix of Leonardo DiCaprio and Thorin Oakenshield.

Great review, huge fan of DS9. Sure it started slow trying to find it's feet but there were some great episodes

Wouldn’t work as an TNG episode with a starship. Needed to have isolated crews and small shuttles/runabouts.

The Terratins weren’t restored to normal size because their transporter patterns weren’t saved in the Enterprise memory banks. There was therefore no default to return to.

Alexis is absolutely despicable. She had ample opportunity to gather together like-minded people to create her tech-free community, but, no, she has to kidnap a bunch of unsuspecting settlers and force them to comply with her wishes. Her goal is power and control; the ideology is just a smoke-screen. The community is dazed at the end; of course they choose to stay -- they've been thoroughly brain-washed. There hasn't been time enough for their minds to clear. Give them a few months and I'll bet they exit en masse -- and they'll be wanting the head of Alexis on a platter.

I like this episode. No, Balock's face did not give me nightmares and as far as the ending, Bailey could have been a hermit or even a misanthrope at heart in which case he wouldn't have minded being away from other humans.

At least by showing people spending so much time staring at screens (like you and I are doing now) made the show ahead of its time.

I don’t think prodigy too adult for kids. A lot of kids shows have that kind of depth of story telling, character and serialized story telling. It fits quite well along other shows aimed at the sort of 8-12 age group.

Underrated part of the franchise's lore. Maybe my second favourite series after TOS?

Emissary from DS9 is still the top. It accomplished a lot and aged really well. The premieres from the Nu Trek Kurtzman shows are probably the worst ones.

I love that Trek began with a story about meeting your ex again but she's been replaced with a monster who will suck your life out. Really makes you think.

What Trekkie doesn’t love a list? Love these I agree that first two seasons tng have a special place in my heart . While I think they are theb worst 2 seasons the episodes from those seasons that I like I reallly LOVE and they hit that nostalgia itch
