I use the heck out of our class B Grech. One year old 30k miles on it. Stay in it 10-13 times per month. It’s been a beast. We take spontaneous trips once a month and never had issues getting place. Bonus of sprinter van is any sprinter certified Mercedes dealer will service it. We are looking at class As though and haven’t pulled the trigger cause all the issues.

Great video. There is so much maintenance to be done even if you don’t use it and I think a lot of people miss that part of the buying process

Have been following the rv industry for 35 yrs. Would not purchase a new unit. I look at the models sold by outfits like Premier Rv of Oregon & The Motorcoach Store. Although the Motorcoach store specializes in higher end units, they do take in well cared for & more reasonably priced units. Premier takes in the the best units from the heyday of the industry from Country Coach, Beaver, Monaco & Safari. These units range from yrs 2000 to 2017, were garage kept & meticulously maintained. Also, many of their techs originaly built & serviced these units. These manufacturers built units that had better quality than many conversions , at a better price. Thx again....

We have being trying to reserve at our state park (AZ), zero availability for areas that are warmer. I believe there were 4 parks that have availability but up north and we wanted a park in a “warmer” area. 🥶 Years ago, we lived full time in our class A RV for 3 years until we had our home built. It worked out well. Insulation is not too great during winter.

The problem with the RV Industry cross multiple areas: 1) Poor quality RV's coming out since 2020. 2) Getting service for your RV is challenging. Can take months to get in, and then more months for them to order parts and actually fix it. Fixes go wrong. 3) RV Park's require 6+ months advanced planning to get in 4) RV Park rates are unrealistically high 5) Storage challenge for many people (HOA regulations, high remote storage costs) 6) People have 2 or 3 weeks of vacation a year, making the ROI of RV ownership extremely expensive in comparison to standard hotel rates 7) RV travel beyond about 800 miles from your home require extended, long trips, which are challenging to escape your employer / business to take that kind of time.

What do you think? Did we miss any misconceptions?

I went to an rv show in brasil in November, the quality and fitures are amazong and the prices 40% less than the US.

Price, qualitu, customer service off the roof im new in rv and loking for 15 hears old or older grits

I have been looking at Colonial Williamsburg on TH-cam for some months, but had never seen it at night, That did look eary/ slightly scary/ Gost like stuff. I usually drive at 65 too but lately I notice that if I go 55 the wind/engine noise are reduced significantly so when I want to relax and not in a rush I drive 55.

How muchweight can one add to cargo carriers on tge slide--wont it wearout the slide motor faster? Maybe only store light stuff like toilet paper, garbage bags, undies and tyty whities.

Guys, I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL, and I love your passion and concern. As an OLD RV’R, I can understand the frustration folks have. I’ve commented before, 40 years of RV ownership, and yes, I’ve seen declines in quality. But I’ve seen quality decline in my cars, my trucks, the parts at Home Depot, the junk on Amazon, the quality of home construction, home appliances and list goes on. I saw the auto industry make some horrible cars in the late 70’s and 80’s. My 84 Cadillac’s engine burned out at 26,000 miles due to a design flaw. Cadillac didn’t go away. The RV industry isn’t going away, and junk motorhomes ( I can name a few) have been around for 20 years. Motorhomes have always been high dollar , high maintenance items, just worse now but good products can still be found. My advice to ANYONE considering buying an RV of ANY TYPE: do lots of homework, don’t get fooled by glitz, be reasonable in your expectations, consider used between 2014 ad 2019, do MORE RESEARCH, and always get an RV INSPECTION from a reputable source. Keep the Faith. Life’s good.

One more thing try to buy a floor plan that been produced for many years. One it’s been around because it’s popular. 2nd more important is by now the problems in manufacturing has been solved . Use common sense in buying a RV. The more it’s build by a car company the better. Stay away from class A built by low wage no union workers.

Stay away from Class A gas RV. Stay with a Ford cab class C RV. Put together on a assembly line with Quality control in place. No Quality control on a Class A body and front end. We had a class A and the headlights were not bright enough. The windshield wipers mechanical design failed in 6 months. I had a 2019 Ford Class C RV. 6 years later not one warranty service visit.

Compare a 6 year old class C motorhome with a Ford V10. Basically a truck. The new Ford V8 and Thor classis. Is night and day in driver comfort and monitor gages. Ford and Thor have done a great job with their Class C. Quantum model is beautiful and has the better led taillights. Finally !

I’ve owned both a Class A gas 35’ and a 2025 Class C gas 32 ‘A 6 hour trip in a class A would leave you very tired and hot. That same trip would be 5 and 1/2 hours. You arrive relaxed and cool. Same basic engine with 8,000 less weight to carry around. Much easier to drive and the harshness with the new Ford class C chassis is much less to deal with. Never go back to a class A gas engine RV. Plus that class A RV has no air bags or crumple zone engineered for front end collisions. A blow out in your streering tires with a class A is very dangerous with very little protection. Much harder to stop a Class A. I could go on but that right there should be enough.

What are your thoughts on car manufacturers making RV’s like Honda and Kia. Are they better made?

Good video 😊 but in 2008 we lost 6 or 7 manufacturers they are building junk bad quality high prices not taking responsibility for to fix warranty work dealers are just as bad they won't fix the rv I don't think they pdi high prices they lie and cheat to customers also the banks and financial people don't loan money it's risky and camping world is buying up dealers not good toxic the economy is bad no one talking about

Our 2017 View has been fantastic quality. Guess they don’t build them like they used to.

I live in California. I remember before emissions restrictions. You couldn’t see Los Angeles due to the smog. We have to do something. Fossil fuels are killing us. I love to RV. I wish the companies had put more effort into clean emission vehicles. This has law was set years ago.

We just bought a 2008 Fleetwood Terra. It had very low miles and I went over the whole RV and it is like new condition. We considered buying s newer unit but were warned against buying anything made after 2018 as the quality control was supposed to be utter trash. We got our new/used RV for a very good price and overall, I can see the difference in quality from that one to a newer unit. As far as California is concerned, there are plenty of other states to spend our money in.
