    Forget the nails, use recessed screws with hole caps and never have to worry about it coming off again.

      Never thought about using screws. If the nails don't hold we'll give it a try.

    Needle nails and yellow horse glue. Fleetwood's primary fastener tools. Wouldn't be surprised if the walls are bonded to the frame with pink bubble gum and Elmer's. These are the personal documentaries that keep me from jumping into the RV life.

    • @AmpedtoGlamp
      @AmpedtoGlamp  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The glue was my husband's attempt to fix the trim when we were on the road. But yes, the pin nails couldn't stand up to the roads. They just weren't strong enough and we are not sure why the manufacturer would think those little nails would keep the trim up. It makes me sad that you are hesitant to join the RV life. It's so much fun! But I get it. Who wants to pay all that money for something that will need constant repair.

    Owning an RV is a never-ending DIY exprience if you are lucky enough to be able to fix things yourself.
    That was an easy fix in the world of RV repairs, lol.

    You all crack me up! At 3:50 Is that the extent of the glue and small tacks that came from The factory? Whoa.

    • @AmpedtoGlamp
      @AmpedtoGlamp  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The glue was from a repair we did while on the road coming home from FL. Only thing holding the trim up from the factory were the pin nails.

    We have a 2022 class A. 36,000 miles on it and we’ve RV’d for decades. EVERY TRIP we fix something but boats were worse . But in all fairness to Winnebago, MOST of our issues have been the parts they don’t make. Water pump, step motor, back up camera cable, window frame crack, batteries, leveling jack hydraulic line.
    With years of experience I can fix most common issues but like you guys, when I get to the campground I want to relax, fix a cocktail, and start a campfire.
    Thank you for your videos

    • @AmpedtoGlamp
      @AmpedtoGlamp  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We love Winnebago and that's exactly why. They make their own parts and do a great job. If you weren't a handyman before an RV you'll become one after owning an RV. 😅

      That should be on the standard to do list when bringing home your camper from the dealer....sanitize water tank, replace sewer hose, nail in trim.

    Guys, I have the same exact rig ours is a 22. We have traveled 6000 miles since we've had it December 2022. We live in it full-time and I cringe every time I see a video from you guys that something else has broken. I will say the only problem we had is when we first got it. The hydraulic leveling system motor burned out. We got it Fixed two days after the fact and have had no issue since. We've been on some really bad roads too. Hopefully your next rig will be in better shape hang in there guys. Specially you, John.

      We love hearing when someone has a well made Bounder. Sadly, we have viewers who contact us having numerous problems...most very similar to ours. We did notice at the shows that 2024 Fleetwoods had a better fit and finish than previous years. It's an awesome layout and great design but they weren't built well during 2020-2021

    John - the crown molding on one side of our Montana fell off on a trip. I straightened the original pin nails and stuck it back into its place (Just like you did). Then I used 1 5/8” finish square-head SCREWS from the big box store to anchor it. I put the screws in at opposing angles at about 18” o.c. - so the first screw went in aimed at the rear of the trailer at a 45* angle angle- then the next screw went in at a 45* angle toward the front. There is no way for it to vibrate off ever again. HOWEVER - the trim in our rig is in the dark brown/grayish tones - so the little screw black heads get lost in the grain of the wood. It passed Debbie’s inspection and she is tough with final inspections (I learned that over and over and over again!)

    • @AmpedtoGlamp
      @AmpedtoGlamp  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interesting. Didn't think about using opposing angles. If the trim falls again I'll have to consider that technique. Thank you !
