    I really appreciate your informative posts, I was in the market for a class A RV as a first time buyer… I decided to research the RV life to find if it were for me. During my research I’ve come across nothing but warning posts that have convinced me that I’m not made for the RV life as I’m looking for something that would’ve given me and my family peace and leisure and it seems like owning a new RV would be fraught with issues that I don’t have the time for and I certainly don’t have time for warranty , repair, maintenance etc issues. Don’t want it now. Thank you for opening my eyes 🙏🏼

      RVing is a wonderful way to travel. Maybe reconsider in a few years. I'm hoping these manufacturers will realize the only way to sell is to improve price and quality.

    Great advice, thank you so much. I was especially interested in the issue of the dealers overpricing the vehicles and then offering a "big discount" if you purchase right away. I see several adds on the internet where they advertise the price and then put a slash through the price to show a significant discount. You are doing the public a service, like the "amazing Liz" and hopefully this will convince the manufacturers to produce better products.

    I wish they would have crash tested my current Class A as that would have prevented me, or anyone, from buying that P.O.S. Anyway, in two years my wife will retire and we have our eyes on the best floor plan ever created, IMHO. The Tiffin Allegro Bus 45 FP (Fully Pimped). We hope to buy a 2025, which will be two years old at that point. P.S. when I first moved to MD I stayed in a campground in PG county. Can’t recall the name of it or the little town it is in. That was 22 years ago.

    Look you two, I don't need any more proof or verification for to why I am NEVER going to buy a motorized RV of any kind! But you have to keep the education going for those who have not made the decision yet, keep up the good work. Of course, there will be those who will just take a chance anyway and risk the regret, that's human nature. As for the Ford F350, I bought one of those and yeah, they are costly, and I never thought that I would EVER spend that kind of money on a truck in my life! I was lucky to have a friend whose dad worked for Ford for 40 years and I got the friends and family discount, which really helped, but I still paid $91,000. Insanity! We are still "considering" the only real quality bumper pulls available, the Big Foot, Oliver, or maybe the Casita. I guess we are still just so put off and disenchanted with RV's these days that we have lost our heart for them. We still keep tossing it around as we just did a 2,400-mile loop over the last 6 days and would like to have known what it would have been like with trailer and not just hotels. Dragging our bags in and out of hotels stinks and every bed we slept on stunk. But, for the $$$ we would spend on an RV buys us lots and lots of hotel stays that don't require maintenance, insurance, storage, and all that goes with RV ownership. Sorry, but your videos seem to send me on these rants. Thanks for driving home all of the cautions to owning an RV!

    • @AmpedtoGlamp
      @AmpedtoGlamp  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You could spend about $1 million and get a high quality Prevost. 😅 But we're with you. Bigfoot, Casita and Oliver are all good choices 👍. John and I have been trying to find those brands to review but there are none in our area. Guess we'll have to wait until Hershey.
      We HATE hotels. Last time we traveled one of the rooms had hair in the bed. Took 3 tries before the hotel could find us a room where there wasn't hair or other objects in the bed. So evident that they weren't changing sheets when the room was cleaned🤮. RVing is so much easier! Hopefully, the industry will change.

  • @richardcampbell9225

    All of the manufacturers love to talk about how important safety is yet name an RV with airbags? You can't imagine crashing a $200k+ RV? Well auto manufacturers who make cars costing over $100k crash them. Moreover, I an RV with an MSRP of $200k costs the manufacturer between $50-$75 (e.g., the dealer pays approx 50% of MSRP and the actual cost to the manufacturer cost is approx 50% of that or 25% of MSRP which is why they can discount them so deeply) to produce so that is not an acceptable excuse. Way back in the day Winnebago used to test Class A's even dropping them on their roof. Many RV stickers look like I made it on my PC and printed it on a dot matrix printer. Don't buy a Monday or a Friday build. When I see factory tour videos and I see workers performing repetitive tasks I shake my head why this is not automated. I own a 2017 Newmar that has had over $60,000 worth of repairs.

    • @AmpedtoGlamp
      @AmpedtoGlamp  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      60k! 😱 unreal! Class Bs and Cs have airbags. Class As have nothing. They are not safe.

    • @richardcampbell9225
      @richardcampbell9225 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AmpedtoGlamp True I should have been more specific. However, Super C's built on the Freightliner chassis don't have them. Moreover, many Class A's don't have any steel around the windshield, only fiberglass. You are correct they are not safe.

  • @anthonyb2334

    As an almost 40 year owner of 8 different motorhomes, I agree with you, these are NOT built like cars or SUV’s and never have been. There is no regulation to mandate it. I wish they did have regulation . The big question is? Could we afford them if they had to meet similar regulations? Maybe not. I hear people say these RV’s aren’t worth it. Possibly so, so STOP buying them. I’m a firm believer in market economics. What makes anything valuable? Sales go down, so do prices. People want it, prices go up. Can you buy a gas Class A motorhome for $150K? Absolutely, but those F53 chassis aren’t as cheap as some think.
    Three years ago this month I purchased a new 2022 Winnebago Vista. 30’ long, a fairly basic but well made class A. We paid $130K with a few added options. After three years and 40,000 miles, we don’t feel we overpaid or that it was poorly built. The accessories are another issue. So many poorly made parts made by Lippert and others. Lack of competition I suppose.
    We did NOT pay for a PDI or some of the other extras some folks have been scammed on. We got our own financing and our own extended service agreement. These dealers DO try to get you where they can. That’s business I guess.
    My advice: never be afraid to walk away from a deal, get an inspection, make sure you’ve done your homework
    Good video, good information for those getting into the game or wanting to do better on the next deal.
    Stay safe.

    "I find it quite scary to consider buying an RV. It's a huge investment, and I don't want to waste money on something of low quality. It seems like the RV industry doesn't want to take responsibility, and customers could have a faulty vehicle. I think I'd rather stick with a class B+."

    Some of this is information but not helpful. For instance, if you want an RV, you must sign the arbitration agreement. There's nothing a consumer can do other than never buy an RV.

    • @AmpedtoGlamp
      @AmpedtoGlamp  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good point. We probably should have added more on how to avoid. For one, you can buy a brand that doesn't require an arbitration clause. Or we will often cross out lines in contracts we don't agree with. Usually no one even notices but its there when we need it.

    • @richardcampbell9225
      @richardcampbell9225 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Right if you don't like the fine print, do they change the contract nope, you don't get to buy the RV. So really why bother reading the agreement it is a take it or leave it situation,.

    I do not work for the RV- I do work in Finance in the Car Industry. A lot of your information is Biased and wrong information.. PDI is called pre delivery inspection- it’s supposed to be done to verify out of the factory that it’s up to par! Liquid accommodation- accessories- etc. Now in regards to the Price- it’s supply and demand- but more importantly it’s a buisness- nobody does anything for free! Regardless of how an institution makes their money! There’s no dirty secrets- it’s called buisness. I find that quite disrespectful actually.

    • @AmpedtoGlamp
      @AmpedtoGlamp  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for giving us a view of the auto industry. However it works very differently with RVs. Customers pay for the PDI from the dealerships and very often major issues aren't reported or addressed which is why it's so important for rv buyers to get a certified inspection.
