Welcome to The Taste Buddies...a fun, interactive foodie group created by Lakis, Alex and Diana to share our joy and passion for food with our "Buddies"! Lakis (Chef and Chief Taste Buddy #1) was born and brought up in a taverna and, together with his life-long partner Diana (behind the camera & in charge of washing-up!) and our son Alex (Chief Taste Buddy #2) found ourselves locked down in Jamaica in March 2020..... stranded for 3 and 1/2 months in paradise with nothing to do! What started as a bit of a lark to keep in touch with friends and family has grown into a great group of Taste Buddies who have become a family of their own! Join us for informal kitchen fun, great recipes from all over the world, tips and ideas.

Your dish looks fabulous. I just came a cros these humongous beans, which i did not know what type they were.so e were purple also but very large. I cant wait to try the recipe. My beans were shell from the bean which does not need to be hydrated, so i wiill try your recipe. Thanks.

Obviously not, but I'm very happy with who I am and what I sound like. We should all be proud of our roots...and mine are Greek. I think, for a Greek, my English vocabulary is fairly good and if I have a Greek accent when I'm speaking, that's because I'm Greek! It's about keeping things real. Are you an accent coach by any chance?

Gert Lush Jeff, the plaster was a bit of a distraction .....lol
Well spotted Steve...a self inflicted wound (collision with the corner of a wall cupboard door down at the villas if I remember correctly) which needed a bit of first aid before filming could go ahead. I had to find the smallest, neatest plaster I could...it still shows though! The recipe itself is a real stunner...Lakis is still talking about how it was one of the best things he's tasted in ages! What temperature do you slow cook at?
150C and turn your oven up to 220C for the last 10 minutes, again depends on the size I f your shank, how fatty it is and also your oven, good luck and please let us know how was your pork, yamas!

I love all saganaki varieties - shrimp, mussels, all are superb. But this recipe with the thyme and basic is outstanding! In two weeks we are going to Thasos for our summer vacation. Can't wait!

Best summer dish, best dish for lend, best dish for ever. Unfortunately I dont find time to cook (sad), but it would e great if I could eat this every day. Whenever I cook it, I add the oil at the end, in order that it does not get saturated. Thanks for peeling the tomatoes. It is much tastier.
