HOME-MADE HALVAS

Diana goes super traditional Greek with this recipe for home-made halva. Simple to make, with just a few equally simple ingredients, this traditional greek sweet is made for sharing! Home-made halva is totally free from any animal products, making it a great vegan-friendly dessert or sweet treat for a coffee....and a must-have addition to the table at Lent. No Kathara Deftera picnic (Clean Monday...the first day of Lent in the Greek Orthodox calendar) would be complete without it! Covered with cling-film, this will keep well for four or five days, no problem (it won't last that long though!). So, go Greek...and give it a whirl Taste Buddies!

This is ultra traditional and so easy to make...you can tweak the sugar if you want it sweeter. The Greek's are known for their sweet tooth!
