Just ordered shocks, struts, brakes and rotors (front and rear of everything) as well as plugs and coil packs for my almost 280K mile Prius. Everything on there is still factory (!) so it owes me nothing. I can either do it all myself, or pay a shop more than book value of the car just to change these few parts. Thanks for the vides of encouragement.
I have never needed one until I started trying to remove that ball joint. I didn't even need it on the other side of the car. Just a few taps with the hammer and they usually come right out. But for $19 it was worth it.
Love your element videos and love that shirt! Thx for showing this repair, I might be doing the same in the near future and it’s super helpful to see your content.
Thanks Clint. Another awesome video. Although it scares me when you say you had trouble with something. That just means I shouldn’t even attempt it. Ha. Also. Wanted to ask if anyone ever told you that you look like Jeff Lynne from ELO ?
Youre a hot mess today, from almost getting your ass almost being screwed to you blowing your own horn with your ass. I so enjoy your humor and videos like always. Thank you for teaching us Element owners something new. "Wack it while you pack it." Need to make a shirt that says that LOL I would buy it.
I hope these are fun and informative. One of my most redeeming qualities is that it's pretty hard to embarrass me. I have no real issue showing you all how sideways things can go at times. That's life. Not everything will workout the way you think it should. Ya just gotta roll with it. And that's not always easy to do.
Are both of the nuts on the control arm welded to the frame? I was told that mine had broken loose and that I would need to have it welded again. The problem is trying to find a mechanic that is willing to do the weld. So, now I'm having to figure this stuff out on my own.

Ball joint separator tool: If it doesn't scare the pi$$ outta ya, you are doing it wrong!

I'm glad the videos help.
Thanks for the excellent demonstration.
You are welcome!
As always, another great video!!!
Thanks again!
You should put the control arm under load with a jack before you torque the bolts. But a good video
Very true.

You can do it. Jeff Lynne? That's a new one. But I'll take it. Love the work he did on American Hustle.

@clintsearcy3252 Yeah, I like natural actions and not take 2 or take 3 crap. Fake is boring.

Should just be a tiny spot weld. I'm shocked you're having trouble finding someone to fix it.
