All in all a good presentation :) Personally, I would say that you should only button the lower button if your jacket is designed/cut for that, else you should avoid it. Buttoning both buttons is to my knowledge completely fine and acceptable with a double-breasted suit, but might look a bit too formal as an odd jacket :)
There's always that underlying flap inside that needs to be held flat by buttoning, even if all the outside buttons are closed (though they shouldn't be).
An extension of not buttoning all the buttons on a single-breasted jacket as well. I suppose it ultimately is intended not to look literally "all buttoned up."

Great content as always! I think I have come to prefer a 6 by 2 in a suit and a 4 by 2 in a sportcoat. Loving the linen 4 by 2 DB by the way.

I like both the 6/2 and 4/2 bu im all about a more sartorial look so I would button the top exterior button on both

I prefer 6 X 2 and always button it properly.
