Nice overview of loafers @6min41. I find that I wear my suit supply Slip on more than my tassel loafer. How would you position the Suit supply Chukka Boor (aka copy of the Loro Piana Open walks, but with laces)? Would it be moren formal than the normal slip on?
Not a fan of it with tailoring but solid with chinos or something like that, so I think it's in the same range of formality as the regular slip on. Maybe a tiny bit more formal.
It’s not at all, if you know the history of the original Belgian Loafer it existed years before the LPSW shoe did. Traditionally the sole was black rubber, so I suppose that’s where SS’s version does resemble the LP shoe. But really, the LP shoe is a refined version of the Wallabee that Wutang famously rapped about.

I have a pair of black calf leather tassel loafers from Morjas that I like. Their espadrilles didn't fit well, but their other shoes seem solid.
