Hello and welcome! I produce educational videos about birds with a little bit of humor and whimsy! I'm a one-woman show researching, writing, narrating and creating videos, and I love it! And, I absolutely love birds. My goal is to convey a bird's unique adaptations, their history or relevant scientific concepts in a way that is informative and engaging. I hope you enjoy the videos as much as I enjoy making them. Thank you for stopping by!
Finding a flock of over 20 wild turkeys!
While driving home one morning I happened upon a flock of at least 20 turkeys- AWESOME! I pulled over, whipped the phone out and started filming. This was all in the shade, but if you ever get to see a turkey's feathers in sunlight, you can see so many different colors- shades of dark purple, green, bronze, deep blues... they're so beautiful. I loved that I could hear their gentle calls to each other. Seeing them that morning really made my day. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

I'm so delighted to see your video. I am 71 years old. I learned about the Galapagos and Boobys when I was in the 8 years old in the 4th grade. I decided then I would visit the islands for all the wonders AND to see the Booby. Fast forward to when I was 33. My husband had been in the Peace Corp in Ecuador! We went on a trip. He re-connected with all his friends from 20 years ago, and we went to the Galapagos. One of my most precious oarts of my life.
What a wonderful story, thank you for sharing!
Grackles are pretty smart.. I’ve been watching them scope out the cat food for a tame stray and they work as a team to confuse and scare the cats. They will antagonize and take turns sneaking food. They also started swooping about head height while making a very loud and awful sound to spook the cats. lol they are menace I swear. God bless
We have a flock (maybe two flocks?) in our condo compound. Interesting to see and hear. Not bad to eat too. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying
Cool Visitor Flock. I have some, and they've kicked lawn to bare and frozen earth. Pheasants and Bobcats always drift through, in their wake.
Firrrrst....!!!
I used to work at the airport in Brownsville tx, and there was a grackle there with one leg, that would come real close to me to get snacks. I always wondered how he lost his leg.
You have such a soothing voice. You made me watch this long video although I am not interested in the birds at all. Do you have any other youtube channel featuring something else?
I have racing pigeons
I thought they were pigeons lol.
I knew it must be a blue jay sounding like a hawk -- My Merlin app wouldn't make a guess!
also I have 100s of geese daily it seems fly through our outside. I love them. they're so divine and serene like.
your voice is so soothing omg.
So cool and the sea is cool
They are drunk… eating fermented berries 😂
Loved this! Thank you so much...One of my favorite photographers posted photo of the Red-winged Black bird & having seen many but not knowing much about them...dashed over here to find a video... LOVED this...learned so much, I went right back to the post on FB and wrote in quotes what you said.... What a fun time I just had...feels exciting to learn and feel I now know a few things I won't forget... Thank you so much...Will watch all your videos I can!
Geese do a lot of training before heading south. Building muscles, training for formation flying, following leaders, etc. These are local flights, so can be aiming for a certain area to teach, say, skills at landing and taking off, or just meandering to get flight time. Canada geese demonstrate some intelligent flying skills. As I watch, say, Sandhill cranes, they seem to rank lower in the IQ pole. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying
I love Canadian Geese but they never fly over our country 😭
@ G’fay, Diane. One day, I had just lifted off the runway, my wings were, say, 50’ above the ground, and a young Canada goose appeared just in front of my right wing. It got a VERY surprised look on its face; I did too. I banked left to raise the right wing, the goose dove and we missed each other. My guess is that the goose was scared as all get out, and had a story to tell its grandkids? Courtesy of Half Vast Flying
We have so many resident geese they are allowed to vote!
Always wondered about this. Thanks.
Hermoso video
interesting
I live at the 33rd parallel in Southern California. We have many Canada geese in this area. When I started feeding them and the wild ducks several years back, I noticed that these geese were here year-round. Sometimes they would have juveniles around during the fall, and you can see that they weren't ship shape enough to migrate. I think the geese have things down. They spend a lot of their time in a local park that has man-made ponds. From there they go to various Fields later in the afternoon, where you can see them digging for grubs with their beaks. Before dark, the leaders start honking and they get into formation to travel to the places where they sleep at night. A lot of them spend the night in the park. There's a gated amphitheater with a high metal fence. You can see them in there at night. They're fastidious enough not to poop in there.
Loved your video ☺My Dad had racing pigeons growing up. I've always known them as the thoroughbreds of the sky 😂they were well loved. I keep all the pigeon feathers I find, they are always beautiful & in perfect condition 😍
I bob my head when I walk and when I fly. I must be a rare bird.
Still seeing them in mid November on Curtis Pond in Calais, Vermont. This is a wonderful video--thank you!
Did they go extinct? Please tell
Interesting commentary! Birds bring so much joy.
I live near the Indian River in Florida. I love seeing the Roseate Spoonbills here. They are so beautiful. Thank you for this informative video about them!
I love Osprey, I see them almost every day.
One of these flew in our yard today with a wounded wing. I live about 120 miles from the Gulf Coast and have never seen these birds here. I live near the Tombigbee River but have never seen them on the river
well swift are the fastest bird , Falcon is fastest vertical diver he uses gravity but horizontally he is no match for swifts
I saw some on the beach at N Myrtle Beach, SC. Loved it. I enjoy your channel. Thanks.
I saw two great blue herons walking slowly in a marshy pond once in Assateague Island, Va. I took pictures and still remember that day. I thought it was a mating ritual but knew it was not that.
We saw one today around Monett, Missouri. 11-9-2024.
human are indeed jerks
A new bird caught my eye near the feeder today. Then I saw another; a pair! My research showed that they were catbirds. The beautiful blue-gray body and the blackish tails were all could see at the time. I learned that it is cousins to the state bird of Texas, the mockingbird. It was an exciting site to see them for the first time!
Born and raised in Arizona, Grackles have always been an enduring and charming aspect of my life. Ever present, and ever adorable ❤
So how do the other species of Pelicans catch food?
My enounter with a brown pelican was when it was "foraging" on the end of my just thrown fishing line 😂😂😂
❤❤❤❤❤

❤❤❤❤
Love those kinds of documentary, a guess that's the animal world think the wounded part it's a ways of life for the bird nice❤
Love this. I had a flock of them once in my back yard. That’s the only time I ever saw them. I live in the nw of the USA.
i had a costa's hummingbird nest under my patio last year, she fledged a boy & a girl. the boy sits on the plants outside my kitchen window doing his high pitched squeals/chirps & watches intently as i wash dishes lol. putting up multiple hummingbird feeders was the best idea. love seeing all the different kinds of hummingbirds pass through on their migration & i'm grateful my lil costa's have stayed with me all year. hopefully i will get to see the boy do his display sometime soon, almost all his beautiful purple feathers are grown in now :)
So cool!
Great Video. I live in the San Francisco bay area, East Richmond Heights. Just after midnight I heard Geese Orbiting over my house, maybe about 100 yard orbit. I was able to catch the audio but not the video. I did see a glimpse of at least 2 geese.
