My favorite swallow species!! A lot of ours in Chicago seem to be taking off this week but they're so fun to watch. This is really great footage, especially of the building and mating 😅 Great vid!
Superb video! You have inspired me to go out tomorrow morning to a local bridge out in the San Joaquin Delta of Northern California, where there are cliff swallows. I have photographed them, but I have not done video. I’ll bring my tripod and attempt to make a video Thanks for the inspiration.
I have a couple of barn swallows that return every season and build there nest in the same spot every year. I call the Iris and Ira. They had two clutch this year and all seven of them fly around my house. I think they will migrate in the next couple of weeks.
Growing up id play at a sand pit for cranberry bogs and on one of the sand cliff faces there were a ton of holes with birds flying in and out. I bet it was this type of bird!
Such a soothing voice and I have a feeling that you read or write often. There is just something about your word choice that stands out.
Thanks so much!
I have never seen Cliff Swallows 😮. How they build and close their nests is awesome. The chicks are well protected in there 💕😊.
I hadn’t realized that cliff swallows would nest on the sides of structures. Opens up a whole new world for them, ehh?

Thank you for sharing such amazing footage. The Cliff Swallow is probably my favorite swallow species, even though I have never seen one in real life.

Thank you, I appreciate that. I love making them!
