    Come on, Godzilla 1998 can actually be a pretty fun experience, I have even seen it a few times. :D Yeah it's cheesy and some effects are bad, but somehow I enjoy it every now and again. There are a lot of worse movies imo. But generally speaking, I agree with you. Just watch everything, when it interests you, because of some actor in it or something or even if you want to find out if a movie is really that bad... I have also seen a lot of bad movies, it can be fun and a lot of times I was pleasently surprised as well!

    A Peter Pan narrative is fine, leaving behind your childhood is important, but using a Deus ex Machina to force your characters to do so is BS. You should never force a characters actions, the chooses they make is probably the most important part of the story. I say have the Digimon themselves make the decision to leave their humans behind. They leaving behind their rolls as pets to permanently Digivolve as guardians of the Digital World so evil cant keep re-emerging. Use the elements in your fictional world, don't just pull a problem out of your butt.

    Its almost like showing fan service while constantly giving a reminder that no matter how much the "children" try to bring back those good memories/times and even if they have a day or 2 like "the good old days" it will always still end with certain people separating as their needs and responsibilities change, like adulthood. What I got from the movie is that, change happens, whether you want it or not. It can sometimes be good, it can sometimes be horrible. When you change, other things change around you, expected or unexpected, it will happen and that's okay. You can take it in stride or you can hold onto that pain until you feel ready to let go. But you shouldn't let it define you and hold you back.

    Shin Megami Tensei in general is king of atmosphere, but for my money IV is the best at it. From the minute you set forth into Naraku, there is a constant and overpowering sensation of “You are not safe here.” Even when confronted with the bittersweet beauty of a ruined future, your moments of safety and security are few and in between. I’m glad to see V is just as great at it’s setting and tone as IV is.

    Definitely not a good case of "just another thing that happened inside time skip." Like what in the actual hell led the writer(s) to treat the digital monsters as merely kids' things? Toys to be put away, dropped for the sake of GROWN UP stuff. Imagine treating your childhood friend or your siblings like that just because they exist to be your friend as kid and NOTHING ELSE. It's just wrong. Even if it's fiction. That is why this shit isn't good at all.

    Upon watching the film, I too thought that the film was ultimately telling its adult fans who grew up with digimon to just move on and not watch anime like Digimon anymore. I mean they went on to create the reboot to gain a new generation of fans instead. They failed and now are releasing another dark 02 film sequel to Kizuna with tragedy as its theme I suppose. If you ask me the creators themselves need to move on from Adventure property and maybe make a digimon story that carries on the themes of Tamers instead.

    I would have loved to see a new character, the digidestined of darkness, laughing at the idea of a timer on digimon. He could procceed to smash his own digivice in front of everyone and then make his digimon (devimon) evolve without it, proving how BS that concept is.

  • @regularlegsc1376
    @regularlegsc1376 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    This is a good video, but I just dont agree with your points. Their digimon didn't die, they are just gone for a time. It was their last evolution, not their final appearance. It honestly felt more like a we will see you again rather than a goodbye. Especially when both Matt and Tai, go on to say exactly that. Also Sora, Joe, Mimi, and Izzy are shown without their Digimon at different points in the film. It's heavily implied that Sora already knew that Biyomon was going to disappear. That's why we see her choosing to not join the fight and just stay with her digimon. Then we see her clutching the stoned over digivice cheering Matt and Tai on and we dont see Biyomon in that scene. She was the first of the original gang to go through it. Later in the credits we see Izzi, Joe and Mimi all living their respective lives, but we dont see their digimon. Only Kari and TK still have theirs, and the rest of the 02 gang. This movie is centered around Matt and Tai, because they were the defacto leaders of the OG group, but indo agree that I wish we saw more of thr others. Lastly, I really recommend you watch this other video. It helps show just how touching and heartfelt this movie is, especially when you consider the ending of 02. th-cam.com/video/bK3eLxFclm4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=LUelNjk75fBWB_co

    The main reason I didn't care for Kizuna was as much as it wanted to pigeon hole the two main into the lives that the show said they had in the epilogue it also ignored the fact that their digimom were shown to be there when they were adults.

      depending on the last arc you read, i'd say it's probably gotten better. Oda has gotten much better at balancing the crew, and giving them their own standalone moments. of course, I'd say that pre-timeskip was still better at it, post has gotten a lot better.

  • @raptros
    @raptros 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I haven't watched the movie in a while but what i got from the movie is that they lost their Digimon because life got in the way. Remember this is Japan we're talking about here, where people can and will work themselves to death. So the idea that culture, growing up and life itself would force them to distance themselves from their Digimon partners and neglect them, essentially it's the same as with the Vpets, Digimon are still fighting tamagotchi, neglecting them will eventually kill them too, makes perfect sense given the context of how life is in Japan. It also doesn't invalidate 02's epilogue, once you get past the turmoil of growing up and you finally settle down (there's also a big IF in finding that luxury of settling down) you will find your inner child again, eventually. If you have kids, your kids will become tamers too, and as they find their own Digimon partners you as a resolved adult will meet your old digimon partner again as well.

    I'm glad you said something about this movie because it makes absolutely no logical sense because I'm like okay if this is still supposed to take place in the universe of the Digimon adventure 1 and 2 it contradicts because why would I feel bad about ty and Matt losing their Digimon partners or there's a time frame from losing their Digimon partners when the epilogue of Digimon adventure 2 show the original cast in the '02 cast as adults with their Digimon partners with kids and their kids having Digimon as well so it makes no logical sense. I mean if the message is to grow up and let go of childhood innocence sure that's fine but contradicting the setup of a 20-year-old ending doesn't make logical sense that's why I didn't feel anything when with this movie because I'm just like did people forget about the original franchise that people forget how old to end it we jumped into the future we saw the epilogue we know that ty Matt and the rest of them are with their Digimon partners living their dreams having kids having families with their Digimon partners like ty isn't ambassador and Matt is a astronaut and guess what agumon and gabumon are there with them So why would I feel something for them losing their Digimon partners like you said this was misery p*** just for the hell of it because they wanted to try to get us to feel something and it's the same issue I had with Digimon try how Digimon try just kind of ignored the events of O2 but saying oh they exist but you know nobody went to go look for the O2 cast the O2 cash just went off on their own without TK and Curry it is just too many things from these new adventure One movies and shows that contradicts everything that the original adventure 1 and 02 set up if you're going to do this then you can't break your own canon just for the sake of it It feels like they were just doing this just because hey you guys remember the adventure One cast the most popular cast of all of the Digimon franchises Yeah let's bring them back for no reason whatsoever because nothing they've done told any story honestly I didn't feel anything from the try movies the tribe show or this movie because again I already saw the ending of O2 it's the same issue with Dragon Ball super You're bringing things back into a time period where we already saw the ending for a lot of these characters so to come out of nowhere and try to put misery or try to get us a feel something for these characters after we've already seen their happily ever after makes absolutely no logical sense That's why I couldn't get behind this movie.

    Definitely can’t say I agree with you. Good Points made BUT this movie sets up why Digimon stands out from its competitors in similar anime. This hits you with the reality that things DO come to an end it unfortunate but it’s true. Best thing I can think of to compare it to is losing a dog. My dog was my closest friend and there’s no way I could prepare for him to pass but it’s common knowledge that we do outlive our dogs. That doesn’t mean you sit and dwell on it and just prepare for the end. You embrace it and make the relationship count. I know you say “all things are possible” with the series however that’s what would make this series age poorly and nothing would feel as heavy or real if it always ended in sunshine and rainbows.

    Thank you for putting into words why I find this ending so fascinating and now even more so! I’ve always found it to be an ending that makes me think and question it for ages. It left a huge impression and still does, and I honestly kinda wish more media would shake it up somehow and have the conviction to try something like this. Although many do dislike the ending I just can’t bring myself to at all, I love that it’s left open to interpretation rather than giving you a perfect clear truth. If it went with a very usual ending, DRv3 would not be living rent free in my mind sometimes well after it’s release. Rather than being a definitive “good” or “bad” finale I personally view it as just different. It’s a mix of what the game encapsulates and let’s people draw their own conclusions. It’s thought provoking, and as fiction I think that’s important. Those are just my thoughts though :D
