I just really hated demon negotiations. Like, I farmed risky enemies for money so I could fuse more demons bc of how shitty my luck was when searching for demons and by the end of the game I was in the early 90s.

Demon negotiations also felt like they had the life sucked out of them. It all relied on RNG, but in a weird and unfun way.

SH2 is certainly a game. A JRPG even..

I think that can be applied to just about every recent Atlus title as of late. SMTV for instance felt both rushed and unfinished, same with the initial release of Nocturne Remaster.

I'd have to disagree on SMT V, but the Nocturne remaster definitely could have been handled better for sure. As for V, I felt it was a complete and solid product. I know the story is super contentious though.

@@NoyahFrequencies The reason I say that with SMTV is just how much it looks like they took loads of shortcuts.
The overworld is drab with the only difference between areas being some filter slapped on top. (Speaking of filters, the Fusion Error is just the regular one with a red filter on top)
The dungeons are basically asset flips with one just being another with pallet swapped assets.
The graphics are clearly several generations behind with questionable artistic direction.
The story was very clearly unfinished and cut down from something bigger, seeing with just how disjointed it is and with its reliance on lengthy exposition dumps. Feels like it is minimalist by accident rather than by design like with Nocturne.
And finally, there is just a general lack of ambition and innovation within the game, just copying what came before, feeling like it was made just to pad the numbers rather than something made with heart. Hell, the game is very clearly just trying to be Nocturne 2.0 without actually understanding what it was that made that game so special.

@@matteste Again, I'd agree to disagree. I felt the game was a complete experience, with a story that was minimalist in nature but not to it's detriment. It draws similarity to Nocturne, but I don't see it as a complete riff as the pacing is completely different. The theme/concepts are similar, since you go to godhood where Demi-fiend becomes a demon, and there's a lot of the iconography around but that's about it.
The graphics are among the best for the Switch, I'd argue with the only ones being better being first party titles like Mario Odyssey. It's a beautiful game, imo. I heard some people encountered lag or frame issues, but through my playthroughs I never had anything besides the draw distance stuff.
All of that aside though, would I want a beefed up port of V on PS5/Steam/Xbox? Absolutely, and I could see these issues being ironed out if they didn't just port it but gave it a Maniax style release. I've even brainstormed on some things they could add myself.

I was genuinely considering getting this game, good to know I dodged a bullet. This is such a well put together video though. Over 40 minutes and the quality is consistent throughout. You've gotten better and better with each upload.
