To touch on what you were saying about the loading mid level. It gives the stage a certain sense of disconnection if you will. Obviously old hardware was a factor but the problem remains even on todays consoles which is what bothers me.

CRIMINALLY underrated games and some of my favorite arcade games of all time.

I do find myself going back to mm 4 alot when i start missing the series. Although the orignal soundtrack for the game is not for me.. some of the music is just hard on my ears but the complete works version is totally different. I love replaying 4 with the complete works soundtrack.

It’s fun to think that somebody in the year 21XX found the blueprints for Dark Man 3, and made Vile based off of that. There’s not much to support that theory, but it’s cool to think about.

Mega Man 11 is a fan game at best. The level design is as garbage as my first Mega Man Maker levels, bullshit enemy placement and questionable platform placement. But then I got better because I learned from my mistakes. How the FUCK did we go from 9 and 10, two of the best, to this shit show? You talk about how amazing the dual gear system is and only show yourself using it once. It's garbage, a gimmick nobody remembers til they need a crutch to overcome the shit design. "Cool particle effects on buster shots" yeah I just love when everything has a bloomed out light source, especially the most essential part of the game that is now harder to calculate thanks to bloom and oarticle effects. Thanks for artificial challange yet again in the terms of "graphics". Garbage garbage garbage. Know what MM11 is better than? Mighty No 9 and that's it.

I am a diehard mega man fan. Ive been a fan of the series since Mega Man 3. Ive mastered Mega Man 1. When it comes to MMX6. I also thought of it as a lost opportunity. If the game designer had more time the product might of been better. I do agree that Aila should of explained about the lost mavericks. However, i feel like this game is so bad that its good category. Because this game is so buggy there are moments where you can make x or Zero invincible. This game reminds me that even in games as spicy as mega man. There are some rotten peppers mixed up in here. Mega Man X6 is bad but its not the most terrible but i think the worst Mega Man game is X7. When you play it you will see what i mean.

Didn't expect MM4 to be so high as it is chronically underrated. MM9 is not surprising though as Capcom did a throwback and did it so well.

Mega Man 6 should be higher than #9. I think it's one of the more fair, yet unique & fun classic Mega Man game. Aside from the Rush Adapter & theme inspired by different countries, the game also introduced multiple pathways that leads through shortcuts or getting the letters to spell out BEAT and it introduced the Energy Balancer; which is one of the best and most important items that became staple to the series. It has great level designs, best Robot Masters design in the series, most of the weapons are fantastic, great art direction and an underrated soundtrack. Yeah. The game is easy. Even more so than MM5. But unlike that game, this one is at least more passable because of how unique & fun the levels & mechanics are and it does have some decent challenge here & there. It's also the most polished game of the series IMO. There's no difficulty spikes, obnoxious design choices, broken weapons or flickering sprites popping in.

Here's another fun fact: Mega Man 6 holds the distinction of being the only game in the original series that was never released in Europe back in the day. (Europeans would still get 7 and 8, however.) It wouldn't be until it was published on the 3DS Virtual Console in 2013 (nearly 20 years after its' initial release!) that Europeans would finally get the game.

Something interesting with 6 is that a lot of the design principles from starting the X series trickled over into classic. For the 8 robot masters it’s to the benefit of the design but for things like the Dino in wily 1 seem like they’d belong more in X than in classic. You mentioned the dragon from 2 and if you compare the two bosses you can see it’s not just the art improving but the design philosophy is also changing a bit because of the X series.

Theres a lot of things in the Mega Man Universe that they never connect on purpose. So we have something to unite it all on our own

I'd also bring up how Napalm Man got the game banned in Vietnam due to the sensitive topic and the level being based in a jungle...but thats not really a fun fact. No thats not fun at all

Mega Man X wasn't originally going to be a Mega Man game. The decision was made later in production, which is why Zero was relegated to a supporting role, and a new sprite was create for the main character. Because again, Zero would've been the main character, since it wasn't a Mega Man game. I guess it would've been called "Trannybot Rampage" or something, since you can't tell me Zero was supposed to be a guy from the very beginning. I mean the long hair might get a pass, but Zero has freakin BOOB CRYSTALS.

My ranking is for S tier is 3,2,9 those are very similar and to me what peak classic megaman is. A tier is 4,7,8,11 these are very different games and I respect what capcom was trying to do with each of them. B tier is the OG first game because it started it all. Then 5,6,10 are personally the most bland and forgettable to me.

Happy to see that you aren't just "omg Mega Man 2" and that you took an honest objective look at it. I don't want to call MM2 a bad game, but god I am just so tired of everyone being all up on that game when there are so many other amazing Mega Man titles. My favorites are 3 and 9, and you gave them an honest look-at. I'm not a fan of the Doc Robot stages in MM3 either. Anyway, great review, great writing for all 11 games. Keep up the videos.

My list 12. Megaman 1. Lack of passwords and guts man's stage kill this one for me. 11. Megaman 11. I never played it and only list it to illustrate my distaste for megaman 1. 10. Megaman 8. Far too easy, and that voice acting. 9. Megaman and Bass. The first game where you can play as Bass. There's a lot to like here. But it's pretty hard overall. 8. Megaman 9, Brutally difficult and the slide was removed for no reason. 7. Megaman 10, less difficult than 9, but the slide is gone again. 6. Megaman 5, the easiest of the Nes games, a lot to like about it though with massive explorable stages. 5. Megaman 2. I agree the turret room is a horrid boss. And it's pretty easy with a lot to like. But Quick man's stage. Those Lasers... 4. Megaman 4. A harmless entry, fairly easy. First time you get the buster. A lot to like. 3. Megaman 7. Beautiful graphics, tough gameplay, lots of personality. 2. Megaman 6, my first taste of megaman on nes after watching the ruby spears cartoon as a kid, really cool bosses, and the master powers are universally useful. 1. Megaman 3, the game in the series i gravitate to more often than not, with a solid roster of bosses, good abilities, and creative stages. And that music. Homie.😂 I'd be remiss if I didn't mention it brings in the slide,
