Megaman X is my favourite game on the Super Nintendo along side games like Super Mario World, Street fighter II and Super Castlevania IV

I've heard mixed things about the x series. I'm excited, but a little nervous too (I've heard nothing good about x7).
To be far to X8, I really enjoyed the gameplay and upgrades there. Story is very blegh, but it's a fun game to skip scenes and rip through to me. Not as good as X1-4, but better by a lot than X5, 6, and 7.
@@VCV95 x8 is the one that looks most interesting to me. It's almost like mega man 11 15 years before mega man 11.

The only "flaw" I can think of is that the dash isn't given to X by default or at least given to him in the intro stage. The X series' platforming heavily centers around that mechanic and the speed is just so fun. First timers who dont choose Chill Penguin first will have a rough time. Regardless I think the game is perfection. I've lost count of how many times Ive beaten it since it's just that well paced with the perfect length with no fluff.

@@MeguhFan yeah it gets overlooked since the game is so good and pretty much everyone knows to pick Chill Penguin first. Devs definitely knew that problem because every game afterwards has the dash by default.
This is still the only game I ever tried to speed run. I could never do it now but damn it was fun to try!
At least you tried. I had a hard time just beating it. The game gets pretty hard, but it's still amazing!
I enjoyed playing Mega Man X lots of times during the times. Even though the Mavericks are jokes when it comes to fighting . Way back in the past it was difficult to go through the fight in the beginning. Years later I got the hang of playing the game as I got better at it. I got the thrill of hunting down 👇 the Mavericks as well . I make the characters talk by reading the dialog uses what the characters say . Zero is not in the 1st X game but I can 🥫 bring back in X2 There 's 2 ways to Mega Man 👨 X .
Alternation #1 : Collect all the items along the way like sub- tanks,life - 👆 ♥ and armor upgrades. When do Armored Armadillo 5th reach up 👆 to the spot where you capsule for get the Hadouken commit suicide 3 times to do it . When you reached the same spot for the 4th time ⌚ don't kill yourself just fight Armored Armadillo and the last 3 Mavericks and come back later to get the 3 lives back and your Hadouken . When Zero sacrificed himself after X destroyed Vile his line will go like this:.
Zero: X I' ve taking too much damage. Auto repair systems can't handle it. My power is fading . Your power is greater than I thought. Maybe you can 🥫 destroy Sigma.
Alternation # 2 :Collect all the items along the way except for the arm upgrade. When you do Armored, Armadillo last repeat the process as before. After reaching to the spot for the capsule 4 times get the 3 lives back and go to the Sigma stage .After X and Zero defeated Vile Zero ',s line will go like this;
Zero: You are more powerful than you were before. But Sigma is much more than he appeared to be. You're going need the cutting edge. Take my arm Cannon and your attack power increase. Good luck 🤞 X! After you pick 👆 the Hadouken . Go ahead and finish the rest of the game . And that's how I played Mega Man 👨 X in 2 ways.

Hey fyi, there is a secret if you get to a point in Sigma's stage without getting the buster upgrade.

Megaman X is the goat :-) my fav way to play is buster only, I got a no death buster only clear on stream a year or two ago :-)
Wow! That's some serious skill! This game has a lot of depth for people who look for it.
When you are wall jumping hit both the jump button AND dash button. That is how you get that last heart.
And yeah X is the GOAT. You cannot encompass how amazing that game is without at least ONCE throwing a HADUKEN at Sigma and taking him out with a single shot. The quiet and squeaky HADUKEN X lets out makes it even better. Awesome review!

@@MeguhFan The sore thumb you get from trying to execute the maneuver and smile hearing the ultra high pitched HADUKEN is very much part of the Mega Man X charm. At least in my humble opinion.
Another banger! Looking forward to the rest of this series. Despite it's flaws, I love the X series, it's the most nostalgic for me. First series I played where a character cursed, so that automatically made me love it as a child

Me too, I played more of the X series growing up. It's going to take me a while to get to it, but I actually loved x5 when I was in middle school. Maybe I won't like it as much when I revisit it.

I remember when this came out i rented and beat it and adored the game. I didnt buy my own copy until late in snes life cycle but i snagged it brand new.
I do feel the game gets a little too much love but its an amazing game nonetheless
Incidentally x2 and 5 are my faves
X 1 wasn't a game that I liked as a kid, cos mega man looked too different from my gameboy mega man. Years later I was trying it out and it was dang good to me. Intro Stage is the perfect first stage and the music, so freaking good😱 X2, X3 wasn't my cup of tea again, cos of too many textboxes. X4 is still my favorite also the cheesy cutscenes, but also stages and the music was so damn good including tge gameplay graphics😃

I haven't beaten x2 or x3. Some people say x2 is better, but I haven't heard anyone say x3 is better than x1 or x2. I'm excited to find out!

This is the most Iran's internet speed friendly TH-cam video quality I've ever seen. Also your videos always be hella bussin no kizzie. I'm not really a Mega man fan but I'm planning to play Mega man 8(Japanese version probably cause the dub makes my ears bleed) and Mega man and BASSed cause the pixel art style is pure eyegasm.
As a huge warning, MegaMan and Bass is a bit rough gameplay wise, and can get a bit frustrating. Not a great first outing, more of one to be played after you have a feel for the mechanics of the series. 8 is okay, but has some negatives and some positives. It's a game of varying quality to me. Any of the collections that may be available to you, in various different ways, would totally be a great place to figure out how much you like the game feel.
@@VCV95 Thank you so much for helping me out. Yeah the fact that those game have great and long animations makes the games more sluggish and not as responsive as the other ones in the franchise. And yeah I've heard that Mega man and bass is quite a byatch, and has cheap deaths. Yeah specially Megaman 8's "SLIDE SLIDE, JUMP JUMP" segments were so confusing. But you said Megaman and bass is kinda frustrating so I guess it's more because of the level design rather than the difficulty. I'm interested to try other Megaman games as well. Have you played any of the Mega man zero games? Are they any good?
@@7heaven4human they are amazing! Start with 2 or 3, then play them in order. The other 3 games are pretty fun, but the first can be a bit brutal grinding, and it's the hardest imo. Zx and it's sequel are both really fun! And I'll recommend the MegaMan Legends series to literally anyone who could hear me, lmao. But they play more like Ocarina of Time.

#1-I disagree with the idea that any of the mega man games 1-6 are anything but "great", mm1 and 5 are both the worst of them, and they are easily 9/10, maybe 8/10 at worst.
#2-The NES doesn't have shoulder buttons so it would be hard for the NES to implement them into use when they aren't there.
#3-Intro stage is great on the first play or two, but after that it just gets to be boring af. I refuse to speed run mmX because my god I hate the intro stage.
#4-There's really only one spot where you must backtrack on the "optimal play through", Chill Penguins stage to get the heart piece, but since you didn't have the dash the first time, it really feels welcome to go back and use them. First play I don't think people should complain about backtracking, it's cool to think about methods to obtain the missing items.
#5-Actually you can get the upgrade to the charge shot in 3 stages. All you have to do is get the boots and helmet upgrade then you can get the arm upgrade from mammoth stage. It's not quite as bad as x2 where if you're good enough you can get it on the first stage, 2nd stage at worst. But I also think x2 is the better game between x and x2 for reasons you'll encounter and question yourself. Replay value matters.
#6-lol. You gotta either dash jump off the wall or use the boomerang to get it. I'll be coming back to this point here because you did NOT get the hadoken.
#7-Actually, the true classic boss rush is the mega man 1 style, where you fight cut/elec in a different stage than the final gauntlet. I prefer this and the Mega Man Bass refight stages over the room of reights so much, it's so much better designed and thought out.
#8-lol you didn't learn how to wall jump properly. Hold dash down while wall jumping.
#9-Ok, so, games that are this good it comes down to tie breakers a lot. X2 is superior because of the way you get the super weapon.
Anyone who tells you that they found the hadoken "without a guide" or "on accident" are lying to you. No one has ever found it on accident. There's no reason to die a billion times in that stage, after you found all the equipment. Want to farm lives from that giant Bat (the mm2 bat drops a life almost every time you kill it), there's an exit button. Or, you can just go to the end of the stage and warp out if you want. The end point where you find the capsule has a refill there. It's not just a random spot where there's obviously a secret. It's a spot with health.
This minor thing makes a huge difference. It's so annoying and stupid how you get it vs the x2 surprise that I won't spoil. There's a lot more, but as I hope you'll agree, x2 is probably the best game ever made. Though there's one major flaw, as I know you'll see, it's glaring.
Mega Man X is a top 10 game of all time, no questions asked, it's just that the other 10 games probably also feature the words "mega" and "Man" in their titles as well.

I've never speed ran a video game, so I don't really feel frustration with the first stage, but I understand how it could really bring the game down if you're speed running it.
I used the word "backtracking" loosely. I get that some players can figure out a route through the game on the first try, but most (like me) will go in and out of some levels. I actually really liked returning to the stages in X1.
Yeah, I know I messed up the wall jumping and missed the haduken. I still felt like the game was amazing without it, but the idea of replaying to get the haduken is on my mind now.
I love hair metal/power metal/thrash! Maybe I should've used the phrase "80's style metal"?
