I completely agree with your video. For me the big things are throttle management and braking. When I bought my gsxr1000r, I was a bit impressed at first in A mode. But after a few months I was completely comfortable. I then bought a streetfighter v4s that kind of impressed me. Now I ride a r1m and s1000rr 2020. I love those bikes, but I find it a bit slow in terms of torque in low / medium rpm. Not complaining, it is great bikes
Good luck with whatever you decide to do and thank you fir all the advice You seem like a solid man I am still hoping at some point we will see some new videos
Riding a liter bike at low speeds in the city is boring as hell. You know you have a ton of power at your beck and call and you have to plod along in slow traffic or heavily populated city streets. You’re better off on a back road or highway.
MSF just tells you that’s not something you need to worry about yet you’re there to learn the basics
Super helpful dude!! 🔥
Thank you SO MUCH😭🙏
"please watch my throttle" yeah RIGHT as soon as you use a camera that creates a view to "watch" just saying
One tip for beginners in the twisties riding whatever is do NOT "try to ride fast" that is forcing yourself to ride fast and what I mean is as one masters all the things involved one does not even need to try...in fact trying NOT to ride fast is more of a challenge as it becomes so intuitive so simple and the fear has been replaced with supreme confidence. But a beginner sees other folks riding fast and so he/she wants to for ego sake or not wanting to look a wimp etc to TRY to ride fast....and THAT is a recipe for total disaster. Becoming "fast" is something that naturally happens with a combination of miles in the saddle and effort to learn which includes not just riding technique but also how to "tune" the motorcycle's capability IE tires suspension setup etc. Just having "giant balls" to hold the throttle open is the worst single plan one can think of.....my 2 cents
I actively looked for a bike without any rider aids
Glad you are okay, ride, don’t ride, doesn’t matter. You have us great info in a great way. What are the gloves you wear in all your videos? The ones with pink and blue, I love them.
You went 10 to 60 without moving the wrist lol. Seems like it would be a pain trying to micromanage 1st gear in the 0-30 mph stop light traffic
Thank you for your service sir.
Fact that insurance is cheaper on bikes with ABS is an obvious giveaway. Insurance companies absolutely did the math.
that road sucks.. kept flyin and i was like bump coming slow down slow down slow down and bam hits it lol
dude out of breath finding neutral lol
Im redlining 3rd gear 60mph. You moved your hand maybe cms in 1st. Dang
Damn you buff! Aren't you gonna get back on the bike soon though? I check in here once in a blue moon to see what's up.
Just started riding 4 months ago, absolutely love it. I met a couple very experienced riders that rode with me once or twice . Very informative guys, the younger one was on a GSXR1000 and the older guy on a z400. I have learned so much from the older the guy on the z400. The 1000cc guy just always wants to go fast and risk everything. Sad thing is he backpacks his 13 yr old kid and none of them wear gear. He goes 160mph with a kid on the back. I can't respect that
Take your time. You’ll be back. Good luck.
Different rider mindset. I got into this because I love open air, I love that it is just me and a 450lbs machine between my legs, a little quick turn and acceleration here and there for a little adrenaline and go home safe. I have no interest in pushing myself and my bike, I am a little nervous riding because I am a naturally "what if?" person. If I wreck I have no clue if I will get back on, but I would like to believe I would because it brings me so much joy. One day you may decide to get back on the saddle just to bop around.
If i keep saving up like this in 2 years i will have money for a bike with all these fancy things
You sir successfully talked me out of liter bike when no one else has been able too 😂. Thanks
True, I'm in my mid 30's and I just started riding. Always wanted a bike (a cruiser) and never got one because I couldn't reason away the risk. Now that I am mature, a seasoned driver and understand that tomorrow is promised to no one, I took that leap. I got a Nightster because the boy in me told me that is what you wanted, but my gut told me to get a beautiful blue XSR900. Unfortunately while the bike rode nice, I hate Harley and it was already throwing codes and locking up the display. I went and traded it in for a XSR900- now upside down double what it is worth, an expensive mistake, but like you said, every time I see it, it puts a smile on my face, and every time I ride all I think about is machine and the road ahead, not worrying if my bike will make it to the destination. And yeah, showboating and gatekeeping has become so toxic thanks to social media- your goal is to have fun and go home safely, not push your limits and kill yourself or others.
Yo what gloves do you have??
Good work 👏🏾
Wohooo! He's back!!!
God THANK you for not editing that out ! I just subscribed! 🙏
This does seem pretty dang slow, at least for where I live. Here in southern california, it's not uncommon for the freeways to be around 85 mph, and you'll get an occasional honk for being under 70 even in the second-to-left lane. Not being able to get from 70 to 85 in a timely manner is a little alarming. Maybe something like a ninja 500 with 451cc would fare better than this, but this looks like a situation where something in the 40+ ftlbs of torque would be better for me. I have about 2 years and 10,000 miles on a 125 and ive been in the market for a "real" bike, and this sort of showed me that going up to a 400 might not be enough for what I might need.
ABS saved my butt one time. I would probably ended up under a vehicle. That was on my 2013 V-Strom with ABS only. Now I have a 2019 Africa Twin with Traction control and ABS. Call me names if you want, but I think these systems are totally worth it. They end up paying for themselves.
As if u just carried on like it😂great!! Wot a way 2 show “1st hand & live”that loss of concentration for just “1 second” is all it takes any of us… please stay safe 😂🙏👍✅
"And the prayers went unanswered" 😂😂😂😂
It's fascinatingly scary to see how little throttle you gave it gave a good idea how so many people get hurt getting liter bikes for their first bike, takes a very controlled person and throttle hand to stay safe with it, definitely showed me I need plenty more practice with my z400 before getting anything this crazy
Disown your child. Lol! 🤣Loving your videos, I'm a total noob, so they are VERY helpful!!!
You only get to make the mistake of a little too much throttle once. 1K SS bikes scare the shit out of me and I ride a first gen Vmax. IMO, 750 SS is where the magic is. Only Lord knows how long Suzuki will keep making the gsxr750 tho. With all this emissions bullshit, soon we will only have 1000cc inline-4 sport bikes.
Watched this video and ended up grabbing a liter bike anyways for my first. Only difference is that its a BMW K100. Easy to ride, even power curve, and plenty of engine and torque to help not stalling. I am very proud and happy to ride it, but for my next ill probably size down and move to a dual sport. Forgot to add, take the MSF! It is worth it.
Maybe too hard on the front brake
Sportbikes dont admit silly mistakes you can die easyly
I laid my f800gs down in a turn that i know like my own body and i was going to buy bread for the next day had no protective gear on beside gloves and helmet because i had no intent of riding hard or anything like that. And on the sidewalk was a mother with a child running around so i shifted down to second going 15-20 kph and before i recognize that anything was up i was sliding on the ground. Lost my front wheel and to this day i dont know why…(no video of it) but later i learned that at that exact point under the road are lots of water and power lines and stuff wich maybe cooled the surface but. Im still angry that i did not see it coming and that i did not wear gear. Since my thicc bmw landed in my leg i had road rash. And the scares are pretty big to this day. my ankle was stripped to the bone knee as well.
Its funny to me i had a 950 supermoto and my ex always said she can not see my wrist moving and she had to hold on tight. And how much she would be scared to ride it on her own.
I have 30+ years of experience riding dirt bikes, and 20 years riding street bikes. I’ve owned everything from 100cc dirt bikes to 1000cc sport bikes, and dragged 1200cc bikes (amateur level). What do I have now for bikes? A 200cc dual sport; legitimately the most *fun* I’ve ever had on two wheels. I’m in the market for a DL-650 too. For me, it’s much more fun to ride a small bike fast, than a big bike slow. The DL-650 will do everything I’ll ever need a street bike to do. Now I want something smooth, comfortable, reliable, and easy to ride. I didn’t always feel that way though. 🤣
Wrecked my bike 6 times in 4 years. Not in the sense of fear. Doing wheelies. mt07, totaled it the last time.
Roads gotta eat friend. Glad you're okay
As someone whos learning to ride and hoping to obtain the driver's licence soon, I always had a rough time handling the bike and huge pain in my wrists and thumbs. Turns out I don't use my hands to keep position on the bike but rather legs, back and abs. Thank you for explaining that.
I disagree w/ most of these comments. A 250 will turn you into a squid just as quick as a liter bike. In most cases, it'll squid you faster. Why? Because "iTs jUsT a 250, iTs nOt eVeN a liTeR biKe" Understand? You're a beginner and you're afraid of liter bikes? Good. Use that fear and turn it into respect that you never lose and you'll never get yourself hurt.
Learned on cruiser 750s, but my first owned bike and real riding exp is with a B-King (naked Hayabusa). It's feasible as a bike to grow into, but BOY you'd better respect it! 😂
I’ve watching quite a few of your videos and I have to say you really missed the mark with this one. Ride like they can’t see you means, make them see you. This is not hard.
I have an S1000R (naked) and agree 100%, there's a huge difference between a liter super sport and a liter naked... I also have 30 years experience in the saddle. A big naked can be ridden very aggressively, or just lazily lugged around town and still be fun. I started on a 500 )a million years ago), then a 700, then a 750, then a 1050 triple which I still own, now this bike and I also have a 125 Grom in garage. Small bikes are still a blast, but my 1000cc naked w some aftermarket wind protection is just a great do anything bike. Super sports are much too task specific to be every day riders IMHO.
I was thinking of starting on a CB650R, I’m over 40 and have ridden a Vespa for some years. Good or bad choice?
@@aliray7979 cbr650r is an awesome bike very solid choice
