Andor is awesome, can't wait for season 2!!
IN ABSOLUTELY 100% AGREEMENT...THE VERY BEST WRITING OF ANY STAR WARS PRODUCTION EVER !!!
This is beautiful edit, well done! Interstellar is also one of, if not my favourite, movies. Such a special piece of art! I also made a fan-edit of Interstellar in celebration of its 10th anniversary recently!
thank you for saying it. this show is so quality I can't even believe it's star wars. it's so much more than just a good disney / star wars show... it's lowkey a masterpiece and in the running for best television seasons of all time
Her name is pronounced DEER druh 😊
Not sure why the comments think it suck. I like the movie and I’m not from the USA. Limited series 10 episodes would sound great and wish it is a reality
You wish this movie was a reality?
@@filmobsessednerd yes. So I can do it IRL instead of watching the tv series lol
"Announcement" is my favorite episode.
I was so looking forward to Joker 2 expecting to feel what I felt watching The Penguin series. The route the movie took was not what I expected like many must have anticipated, and although I respect the different direction Todd opted for, the people behind Joker 2 should really learn a thing or two from The Penguin series how to build up and finish a real villian saga if they wanted the movie to gain more positive reactions from the viewers. I was devastated with the movie, but The Penguin saved what I was looking for in a show, and I'm more than satisfied with the series.
I have actually not seen Joker 2 yet so I can't speak to this but I will keep it in mind for when I do eventually see it
I love Andor. Even with the “bad guys” I can still relate to them. Over bearing mom that uses her connections, Dedra’s camaraderie with her underling (telling him to go home but he stays), the commandant of Aldhani forcing his son to wear his official uniform like having an official guest visiting. Lots where I relate to every single one because they are all just human beings doing what they think is right. To provide and protect their loved ones, even if it means oppressing others in the means of “doing their job”
Very good points, the little things of these side characters stick out
They were mainly protesting the draft.
Soldiers were yes but they had no choice
If i ever meet Lauren LeFranc IRL, i dont care where we are or who is watching i am going to get down on my knees, bow my head and ask permission to kiss her ring.
Lmao god damn I applaud the commitment😅
Spot-on. It's absolutely maddening how many times they have dropped the ball. I have little faith that those in charge will get their collective sh*t together. And thank you for calling out the content creators and commenters for the "culture war" BS. The thinly veiled/overt racism and sexism within the fanbase is disgusting.
I couldn't agree more all around with your points. Lucasfilm needs to do better but the fanbase of the bad side of it either needs to go away or stop with their fake crap.
I loved this show. Nothing since The Last Of Us has made me crave watching network TV again.I totally related to Vic and it crushed me to see him be killed off, even though I understood that it had to happen to set up the Batman 2. I grapple with liking and hating Sophia the same way I did with Oz. I totally plan on rewatching the entire series again in the upcoming months.
That's awesome to hear man! What was it about Vic that you related to?
Found you!
Hey what's up man! Did you see my most recent DM on the website?
Andor is the BEST star wars content ever created. Even better than the OG trilogy. I will die on this hill.
Lol I personally would go to Andor first before the OG trilogy but again that's just me
Gets Collins name even more out there? He’s a legend.
*"The Penguin"
If James Gandolfini was still alive I think he’d be a good Penguin
In an alternate universe he probably would be a good one
Fantastic analysis of the best show in the last five years
Thank you appreciate it!
Disney should learn from Andor and why THIS IS what should be Star Wars
Disney made Andor... what do you mean?
What was your favorite show??
My favorite show of the year and probably will remain so is Shogun. Fucking love that show!
@ I’ll check it out
@@user-tb4ys4zu6m for sure you won't regret it!
It is the best writing of ANY Star Wars movie or show. The monologues are especial... This is where Star Wars should be heading. All of the characters and actors are the the best for the part. This is real evolution of a franchise. I Think both Andor seasons (the next one will be as good as the first) are at the same level that Empires Strikes Back.
I think it should only be an evolution for the franchise in the sense that it should adopt more mature like themes and projects but it shouldn't be the only way forward
@Film Obsessed I agree wholeheartedly! Absolutely stunning how flawless Andor's writing is, subbed!🤣
Thank you!
This movie had potential and a great cast with great scenes but the plot nosedived halfway through. The ending was so bad that i immediately thought it was written during a writers strike or had a bunch of deleted scene that would have made it make sense. I felt like the last battle was more like the Death Star trench run than a movie about the ETO.
Ok and? Why does the last battle being like the death star trench run make it bad?
I think you’re going overboard with the praise. “ give her a blank check” ? … chill man. This show was good. Don’t get me wrong. The cast was fantastic. Colin is amazing. Overall it was entertaining and it stuck to its guns making The Penguin a despicable villain as it should be. That said, the writer took a lot of shortcuts. Left a lot of unanswered questions. For one, Sofia many times was just conveniently in the right place. She moved like a ninja 🤷🏻♂️. It was never explained how she managed to gas a whole gangster family on her own! Those are grounds for other Italian families to take notice and retaliate. Why would any other family trust her? And who had her back after that ? This 115lbs soaking wet girl just instilled fear over everyone?! What? And the cops just let her go. All very easy. Where was Gordon and his force? There was no moral compass in this world. Where tf was BATMAN? The Batman movie made it a main point that ALL criminals lived in fear of Batman. They would see him in the shadows, in the dark alleys!!! All that was out the window in this show. It was ridiculous! Penguin was setting people on fire! Rethink things.
Ok, so I read through your points and I am going to respond reasonably so there's no confusion because I think you're misguided on several things. For one, why would an explanation be needed for how Sophia gased her whole family when they showed us how she did it? No other Italian family would have the proof to know it was her to begin with. Who would have her back after that? Well, as the show showed, people would want to be represented more in the crime world especially if you weren't a fan of the Falcone's. Also, what is the point of saying "115lbs soaking wet girl" have anything to do with anything? That just sounds like you're being degrading for the sake of it. Oz is probably 250lbs and also with a busted leg but you think he is any better at installing fear no matter the body proportions? Don't get that point at all. The cops didn't let her go? What are you talking about? She got arrested at the end of the show. If you mean why did they let her go after she gased her family, they had no proof it was her, you can't arrest someone with no proof. Where was Gordon and his force? Handling other matters in Gotham after a massive flood destroyed the city I would imagine right? Don't forget, there could still be some corrupt cops on the force, The Batman established that that was a thing as well as this show with that one detective who Sophia bought off with the drops drugs. Batman, was off doing his "helping" thing as he stated he would be doing at the end of The Batman after The Riddler blew up the damn city. He can't be everywhere all at once he's just one guy. Sorry man but I just think that a lot of your points can be refuted.
@ you do a good job refuting them but it’s the show runners job not to leave things unanswered. And no IT IS NOT SHOWN how Sofia gasses a whole mansion with a family of gangsters! You don’t just put those things under a coffee table put on a mask and just do everything while they sleep. I don’t buy it. All of that is skipped. It’s a mansion! There’s servants, security thugs etc. I just can’t picture Sofia running around the whole mansion doing these killings. Penguin as established in the movie was running a whole club for Falcone, he was his second hand basically. The show then shows him chauffeuring Sofia around like a chump. It makes no sense. And yes The Penguin is much more accomplished and intimidating than Sofia. He gave Batman a run for his money in the movie. Here’s another one: Salvatore Maroni gets jumped in jail (maximum security mind you), stabbed, end scene and then he’s just shown OUT OF JAIL!!! What transpired?! Don’t know 🤷🏻♂️ Look you can choose to paint this rosy picture of the show. Like I said, it is good. But no I ain’t giving what’s her name no blank check.
@@ComicsForLife2023 so I guess you missed the scene where after the night is over she goes in with the gas mask on and pulls a tube out of the ventilation shaft? He was chauffeuring her around before he owned the club. That was a flashback sequence. Are you paying attention to the show? Maroni got out of prison because he snagged the keys off the dead security guard that he killed. That allowed him to escape. I’m just saying what I noticed and not what I didn’t so clearly we saw two different shows.🤷♂️
Oz Also Got That Kid Killed in The 1st Episode too
Also a true point to his villain arc he only tries to save his skin
this Penguin along with Dutch of RDR2, perfect evil
Haven't played RDR2 but I'll take your word for it
The soundtrack nails it.
you gotta watch black hawk down man. that’s the best war movie ever i promise
Of course I have! That's a good movie too.
i really need batman to show more compassion for the people of gotham. After penguin just killed all those people because batman was chasing him, he treated penguin like just a normal thug and at the end of everything penguin was set free, same with the bomb guy, even if he was corrupt i feel like he didnt do enough to be a hero and actually save people, he was just vengeance
He should've took Penguin in I won't disagree with that but what do you mean by "the bomb guy" who's that? The Riddler? He was taken to Arkham.
The entire movie was his arc to NOT be just ‘vengeance,’ especially when he heard one of the terrorists parroting it. In the end he becomes more about saving lives than taking‘vengeance!’
i liked the last of us
Me too! Loved the first season.
No villain here...except the politicians and police in the show. Oh just like real life, so meta.
Huh? What are you trying to say?
@filmobsessednerd Oz has a moral compass unlike drop head detective. Mob heads sell each other out for the shekals. Oz should've ate Sofias booty like groceries and teamed up with her.
@@WestSideGorilla1980 i’m pretty sure the character of Oz does not have any morals given the things he does in the show to the closest of people😅
@@WestSideGorilla1980no, Oz SEEMS to have a moral compass, early in the show, with the things he says, but what he DOES shows he’s a monster. Murdering Vic BECAUSE he cares about him is the final proof.
@jonbodhi it was that currupt councilman who told Oz he had to be clean during the future investigations by the mayor. Telling him his street crime and those who had dirt on him would ruin his shot a political career. Oz realized the real game of organized crime was political, and he had to think on his feet and adapt or go to prison.
Is the voice AI?
Sigh... no it is not. That's my real voice, I get this comment a lot. There's nothing I can do to change how I sound.
@@filmobsessednerdyour voice is like AI but with a personality. I like it a lot not trying to be creepy 😂
@@Crazy_e193 lol thanks, I know a lot of big TH-camrs out there have more AI sounding voices but don't get called out for it but it's all good I get it haha
100% agree. I don’t even think Disney realized this.
Realized the scene? Well, the producers did so yes Disney did realize it.
This is one of the only, if not the only, Disney Star Wars live action project where the quality of writing/production/directing/etc. matched the talent of those involved
From a live action perspective I guess it varies for me. I still loved what Mandalorian did for the first two seasons, Boba Fett was just ok and then I enjoyed Ahsoka S1.
Lauren LeFranc wrote Agents of shield that's my fav marvel show
Saw this movie when it came out when i was mobilized while in the navy... great movie!
You can see that Collin isn’t just an actor in costume but he morphed into Ozwald Cobb, he became what he was expected to convey🤌🏽 I cannot praise the cast enough from Sophia, sal maroni, Vic, Francis, Johnny vitti etc.
Agreed all around
I don't like viewing SW from this alegorical point of view, it's just crude
Why is it crude?
My issue with the ending is that Victor, being a younger and presumably stronger man, could have easily overpowered a 40-year-old's feeble grip. His death felt implausible, almost like how a toddler might succumb. He had so many options-jumping, punching, using his body weight, or even grabbing the gun from his coat. Strangling scenes are usually more convincing when the assailant is shown to have an undeniable advantage. For instance, in The Godfather, they paid close attention to detail, pinning Luca Brasi's hand against the counter to prevent him from fighting back against the rope. That level of realism was sorely missing here.
I don't know if I agree with that lol... I think Oz had a good enough grip on him and you forget Oz is a lot more stronger than you think he is. In that moment human instinct kicks in and you go for the arms instead of something else. We've seen plenty of strangle scenes in entertainment do this.
Boy hell nah lmao you never heard of old men strength? Lmao the actor who played Vic even said he couldn’t get out of the hold.
Excellent series. Great acting, great writing, engaging. 👍
Agreed!
The Showrunner cooked here
She did in fact cook!
This Batman spinoff is an absolute masterpiece and your video on this spinoff is beyond accurate and perfect. Especially when you are talking about Sofia she was the absolute highlight of this show and I too hope to see her again
Thank you appreciate it!
Shows like the soprano’s makes you root for the main character no matter how horrible of a human he was. Not a diss towards sopranos cuz it’s one of my favorites, but penguin did it right, you feel like he’s a real scumbag low life by the end
Long story short, a villain should always be a villain, even In their own tv show.
To some degree yes, I mean there are examples of good instances of a villain turning good I mean comic book wise Loki just might be the best on screen one in terms of a redemption arc
which imax theatre in india do you think is the best for viewing interstellar and when does booking start?
I have no idea I apologize I don't live in India
Collin Farrell absolutely killed it. I was mesmerized by his performance. I had a blast following Oz and Vic.
Yeah this was legendary.
Indeed he was!
It exceeded expectations for sure
One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter
Not sure why it has taken me a day to put this into thought, but I find it cool that my two favorite shows of 2024, Shogun and The Penguin, some would argue are the best of the year in general both revolve around two characters that make sacrifices with people they know to obtain power within the realm of their profession. Yoshii Toranaga is a feudal lord in Japan trying to rise up and gain the title of Shogun, while Oz Cobb is a gangster trying to be the boss and big man of all the crime in Gotham. Both sacrificed so many things including people they cared about to obtain those ranks. So fucking cool!
