Play the games. The first season is better told in the games. So many moments from the 1st game was watered down in the show which made me not enjoy the 1st season as much as most people. The fact that it was on HBO and they could've gotten away with pretty much anything and still chose to tone it down made me sad.
Lol idk about you but it felt like they did some stuff in S1 that was pretty dark. I am sure that some stuff is a bit darker in the game but to me S1 told the story affectively enough that I never bat an eye at it.
The trailer is good, they did it on purpose, is all scenes from the game transposed in live action. I feel that they did this in order to please the fans as a distraction, not come at them for the changes we are about to experience, yet. And Bella did not kill it in the 1st season. Just play the game! She did good but far from kill it!

Lol I only know of the one BIG thing that happens that REALLY caused the internet to go up in flames. I know slightly of a few other details but nothing too concrete.
@filmobsessednerd I won't spoil anything for you, but the game is massive. It's probably twice as long as the original, and it's told in a very unique way. What you speak of is significant, but there's so much more.
Sorry man, there's nothing wrong with having opinions on Bella. Now, I totally agree with you in that stupid details such as eye color are trivial and have virtually no impact on the role. However, other details DO matter. Physicality MATTERS. For instance, watch the image of Ellie walking out into Jackson in the fur-lined coat. She looks like a freaking TODDLER. Her gate, the speed she walks, and her childlike head barely popping up to see. Again, she looks like a child. That matters. I know you haven't played the game, but aside from the flashbacks, there's NOTHING childlike in the game. It's adult themed content with visceral violence that requires a certain level of physical stature and maturity, both in the delivery of fight scenes and others that are more intimate. They screwed up, and if you disagree, that's fine, but this game needed a more established, mature, and slightly feminine actress. Yes, Ellie's gay, that doesn't mean she can't be feminine in her own way.
Bruh... really? Wtf does her femininity have anything to do with this? Is that really a criticism now that we're throwing at people? You had me at disagreeing about your other stuff that you said but then you went and threw that in. I am sorry but that literally does not matter.
I just *PRAY* they don't screw up the story like they did in the game. I want to like the last of us 2 so badly but I just can't because of the brain-dead story decisions they made in it. And I am a story guy and I can say the story is at most a 6/10 and I am being VERY generous. Let's hope the show makes the story a bit more bearable.
If you think the story is that bad then you clearly don’t understand the meaning behind last of us. It’s supposed to bring the player the feelings of hopelessness and hope, fear and peace. It’s supposed to show humanity but also how quickly people can lose theirs. How a hero in one persons story can be a villian in someone else’s. How every action has a consequence. A butterfly effect. How selfish a human can truly be. How selfless a human can be. Don’t get me wrong when I first played I was angry and I merked Abby a bunch of times. And I almost just quit playing all together. But when looking at both games as a whole and the story it was trying to tell. The lessons it was showing. It’s truly a gut wrenching experience.
@@lunarnightterror7599 I decided to actually watch the last of us 2 again because of the show trailer. I am already done with Joel playing golf with Abby scene. If my opinions changes at all I'll probably reply here.
@@Yosif3 watch? Or play? It’s honestly a different experience to play it and I’d highly recommend you replay/watch the first game then go to the second right after. Appreciate the effort though! Season 1 was so boring and disappointing, I have zero interest in another season. The moment in the 2nd game that outraged people won’t have any resonance in this season because they didn’t make me care about them in season 1, unlike the game which was masterful in building their relationship. I wouldn’t be surprised if the big moment is right near the end and they fill out the season with parts of the DLC flashback of the girls in the mall. Then 3rd season is Ellie in full revenge mode.
The comparison to Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig is crazy. It’s hard to overlook but Bella Ramsey’s performance as Ellie is definitely the weakest. It feels like she just played the game and tried to emulate the character instead of reading a script and bringing something unique enough where it’s faithful to the character but also brings something new. That’s my only criticism.

@@xavier7666 I don't agree about Ellie in the show but to each their own I thought Bella killed it. One day I will play the games.
It's powerful because it stuck so close to the source material.
Not as close as some would say it did but we can't always use that as a way to justify the quality of something
F in the chat for Maggie Macdonald😅
who is that?

They wanted the voice actress of ellie
Who wanted that? If you’re saying fans wanted that well guess what? It’s too late now we can’t do it. It’s all been filmed.

I am sure that some stuff is a bit darker in the game but to me S1 told the story affectively enough that I never bat an eye at it.
wait... you haven't played the game??? WOWWW
Nope! Neither of them. I feel at this point I am one of the gamer souls that hasn't touched it yet.
Hey we'll disagree on Bella killing it but as far as we know the changes for what they may or may not do have not been affectively communicated yet
@@filmobsessednerd it's fine to have different opinions as we resonate with different things and acting being art, art is perceived and touches in different ways. Please play the games! At least the 1st one so you will not get spoilers from the 2nd one.
@@danielsolomon63 I plan to definitely try and play the first one one day
You poor soul. If only you knew what's coming.
@@LetsMakeSomeGames-hi9iz so I’ve heard which is why they’re splitting it up into two seasons for the whole game
The game is way better then the show
I’ll be curious to see how my opinion changes on that if I eventually get to playing the game myself
Try keeping in mind that every action has a consequence and not everyone is a good guy and not everyone is a bad guy.
@@lunarnightterror7599 While I understand where you're coming from. I still think they dropped the ball more often than I would have liked. That's for me anyway. The game is incredibly divisive.
@@lunarnightterror7599 Watch. I have watched the last of us countless times and I watched the last of us 2 like...a couple of times? But that was back when it was released and I never bothered to check it again. So I am gonna give it one more chance. My bets are on its gonna give me mixed feelings at the end.
Hey agree to disagree on that, S1 wasn't a knockout for everyone
The comparison to Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig is crazy. It’s hard to overlook but Bella Ramsey’s performance as Ellie is definitely the weakest. It feels like she just played the game and tried to emulate the character instead of reading a script and bringing something unique enough where it’s faithful to the character but also brings something new. That’s my only criticism.
imo i think it’s just her look that throws a lot of ppl off cause she obviously doesn’t look exactly or even rlly like ellie at all IMO
@@dzonlyythis is the foundation of my criticism.
@@dzonlyy not for me because Pedro doesn’t look as closely to Joel as maybe the guy that played Jaime Lannister in Game of Thrones, who was casted as Joel forever. In my opinion, it’s her performance.
@@misterjiggles5041 people get attached to these characters and they just think they know everything about them when someone comes along with a different opinion everyone gets up in arms. I appreciate your unbiased comments
Hey you at least said your piece respectfully however I would disagree with your point about the comparison. I made that comparison out of the small details of their body and its features and not the acting performance. I think Bella did a great job but we'll agree to disagree on that.
