Romulus prequel: How did Romulus get all the alien material. The "Company" entering the Horseshoe craft on LV-426 of the first movie and gathering the alien eggs that later become the main building block inventory of Romulus. Understanding how that ship operates. Evaluating the space jockey death in the organic telescope module. Finding other space jockey entities in hypersleep chambers. Exploring the whole of that ship and the bridge/control center of the craft. Then things begin to go very wrong again...
It showed you, they captured the original Alien that Ripley blew out of the airlock. My guess is that all other things were generated from that. The missing link is black goo development, so this requires the third movie in the sequence to be made, the one which created the original croissant shaped ship in alien.
@Truthinshredding1 Yes, in Romulus they found the original petrified xenomorph within the meteor-like containment rock. From that finding, how exactly do they get the face huggers? They needed to find more. Why search for the alien blown into space when the Wayland Yutani Company knew damn well it all came from the distress signal originating from Planet LV-426. The company, at a loss with Ripley's final escape pod actions should've amassed a bigger crew with a few dozen Synthetic persons to revisit LV-426 and re-enter the horseshoe craft ready to gather all they could. Acquisition of the eggs leads to automatic xenomorph treasure using orphan children as the face hugger guinea pigs to generate the xenomorph offspring. Bad companies do very bad things for power. This is the Romulus prequel!
No more prequels, please, god. Can this franchise move forward for once? There hasn't been any development of the story since 1997, only prequels upon prequels upon prequels. We now have a prequel show in the work and you want a prequel to the prequel movie? Enough of this nonsense
@Truthinshredding1 How did they generate an abundance of Facehuggers in Romulus from the original Xenomorph find petrified in space? Can xenomorphs birth xenomorphs? We know a queen xenomorph makes the eggs. We know very little on how the androids created the entire alien Romulus inventory they had based on the one petrified xenomorph find.
I loved both the AvP movies. Two highly adaptive killers fighting for dominance. Didn’t know it received well back in the day but fingers crossed 3rd times a charm. 😉
I did enjoy Romulus. The horror level could've been much more hardcore. The scare factor was near absent. Bigger cast needed means much more kills, which is what this Franchise is about. Alien was about the xenomorph killing the crewmates one by one. Cameron changed that premise in part two whereby the xenomorphs captured the victims and brought them to the hive to be face hugged, which obviously births another xenomorph. Nobody complained about this change-up.
Idk... I am not sure I agree with any of that tbh. Alien was much more than just killing the crew, it was also about the dread they experience knowing this was something they had never experienced and it was in this crowded and enclosed space ship.
What about the alien queen Ripley fired into the void of space? If the xeno from the first formed into a crystal/rock I'm assuming the queen could too? Hadley's hope style movie would be cool. Last stand motif Plus assuming samples would have been taken from Romulus for further experiments. To other research facilities, to be honest they could go anywhere with this plot wise. Hopefully we get more movies.
I’d like to return the story of the engineers. I liked Romulus but it kinda sucks that another rewrite of the original xeno story arc got a lot more love than the direction Prometheus and covenant were going. I get why people have mixed feelings about those movies but the ideas in those movies and the stories they were exploring would’ve been really cool to see fleshed out and finished
I think Godzilla vs Kong from 2021 counts as a crossover. I love to see another Alien vs Predator movie. And one of the synthetic turns out to be a T-800. Haha.
I'd love to see a new Alien v Predator film. Even tho the first two AvP films didn't really work put like the studio had hoped, it was a unique concept.
I mean folks , it could be done properly... but you know ridley scott has some control over the alien brand now and wont allow it.. i would say if you seen it again it would be a crossing of paths , within a movie ...just give it a chance
I don't really know how much control Ridley thinks he has on this franchise still. He might produce stuff but I think there's a chance he'll let his hands off the rains eventually just enough.
John Woo would be the *perfect* director for an AVP reboot. The Predators, defined by their Code of Warrior Honor, fits seamlessly into the “Heroic Bloodshed” ethos of Maestro Woo’s worlds.
I'm getting bored with the formula of egg+ host=alien, be in a Alien or Aliens, Alien 3 or Romulus. Its the same rehash of the one plot. Alien 4 took a leap with the creation of Ripley 8 (the prefect blend of Xeno and human) and testing the Xenos, till they intelligently killed one of their own and escaped. I wanna see a rival company; it can't be just Wayland. There has to be competition out there. They intercept Rain en route to Yvaga and interrogate her. They have their own hybrid program that's well developed, with a laser grid containment to secure the Xenos, similar to Evil Dead where Alice slices and dices a security team - the Xenos are locked. The team working on the project are all artificial and fix Rain's brother, Andy. The problem is that Wayland has someone on the inside, who wants their secrets and is prepared to wreak the station or planet. The research is well advanced with a Ripley 8 hybrid; the upgrade that Peter Wayland held so high, which is better than the Engineers. Not far off, the Predators are also watching and spying the developments... they too created hybrids from the goo and want to prevent humans from getting the upper hand. Does Rain work with the rival corporation, or Wayland? These guys are that good, they've imprinted their logo on the dome of the Xeno's head.. there's a hint of other research points in the universe, as this is their Manhattan Project and they'll finally topple Wayland's dominance. Have they grown a spaceship from the goo? The story of Alien must evolve away from the base formula. It's boring and now tired with a level of predictability that's redundant. A zombie or vampire movie that by formula, is dull and flat. Alien is ready to be expanded. Wayland Corp made more than enough mistakes and corporate espionage is rife. Wayland re-routed a cargo vessel to LV-426 with urgency, to secure their prize; the derelict spacecraft and it's unique cargo. If they were trying to kill humans with the payload, why emit a distress signal to attract the curious? They didn't turn the signal off. A passing rival would've also been curious. Maybe even checking readings of the Nostromo detonating. Even on Antarctica Charles Weyland says that his rivals would've also observed the heat bloom by satellite. There's a rival in that universe and we've never seen it? Lets fledged this out. The Predators are watching, maybe even the Engineers.. both are very adaptable spies, with technologies and agendas of their own. This franchise has already explored the face hugger, the Xeno.. lets build on the lore. Ripley 8, or that kinda hybrid is the 'day walker' of the Alien franchise. A new actor, a direction away from the egg and face huggers.. The potential is limitless.
I really appreciate you as a lore expert coming in to explain just how much potential there is for something else. I think what Romulus signified is that a return to formula was needed... however they can still do that formula for other potential new films if they like you said could expand more on the mythology of the Xeno's and universe of this franchise. I think a movie including in more of Wayland the company could be cool.
". I wanna see a rival company; it can't be just Wayland. There has to be competition out there" There is indeed. In one or two of the novels they make reference to Chinese firms that are competitors to WY.
@@uvicjames Very cool. There has to be competition and with that comes spying, to get the edge. We're only seeing a story told through the eyes of Wayland. The goo and what it's capable of would be on the size of the Manhattan Project in R&D. The egg+host=Xeno formula is stale after 45 years. What has the competition been up to? Surely they'd have known of Romulus and that it's now abandoned.. How do that discover and take advantage of Rain fleeing?
There has to be competition out there? Bro it's currently 2024, we're already in a capitalist dystopia where giant companies hold monopolies. It isnt that crazy to think there isn't any competition to Weyland when fuckin Amazon doesn't even have any real competition in our current universe lol

@@filmobsessednerd Mr h reviews has gone over the casting and that's it, I'm concerned we are moving into alien territory instead of going full action film like predator should be, I fear we are going full girl power and that like that last film, the predator won't get great screen time, and won't have much done before it's killed. I am very tempted to stop watching predator movies unto they either A go to Vietnam, or B go to feudal Japan. One story from japan exists in comics, the other is an idea I had for a predator movie. In Vietnam those red goggles the Gunners wore leaked sometimes that chemical caused hallucinations... But some say irl that's a cover up. Made me think that a predator story using those goggles would be cool, and the plot line was that these gadgets could see predator, explaining why the Gunners in nam that wore those googled claimed to see things. Idk, I think it would be a neat film, and the fact that I came up with the idea in reference to real Gunners who really tripped out and thought they seen something... And rather telling the story in a predator way, kind of like the WW1 comics with predator where the soliders said they should see invisible men and ghosts of the dead, and that became an idea for a predator comic. What do you think, Vietnam and goggles, Gunners seeing things that "aren't there"... That's a real life thing but it sounds like predator doesn't it? I'd love to pitch that idea these guys way for later
The aliens needs to be more 3D instead of 2D (what I mean by this is they need to show intelligence/tactic rather than just a crawling snarling monster, which they have been in the last few movies) give aliens a new edge just my opinion
He sid a veey good job here I do think the last quarter of the movie is a bit of a let down but still sorta ok He builds tension so well... He did it well in the ED remake and i knew he would bring that back to the Alien movies
If they plan to do crossover with Yautja/Predator. All I ask is make them alive, almost every single Predator gets killed when their main culture is based on the thrill of the hunt. It makes no sense for a Predator to be trained and evolved in their culture which requires skilled physical test to complete just to get murdered by a xenomorph immediately.
For me personally, the prequels kinda ruined the whole franchise for me. Ridley Scott's attempt to explain away the xenomorph's origin, basically lead to the loss of the mystery of both the xenomorph itself, and its origin. To me, in my own head cannon, the xenomorph was some ancient horror from a time long ago, and something that came from some distant corner of the galaxy.
Not a bad idea, I think that could work but that would then establish that Predators do exist in the same world as Xeno's do and I wonder if that would mess with a lot of continuity
Here's what I am going to say that. In a way I agree with you, which is why if I was making the movie I probably would separate any continuity between the franchises and their mainline films. Make it its own things separate from any other stuff that came before.
I believe that if the idea is driven in a better way it could actually be amazing, the problem is that both franchise must follow the same style and they never did

Although now that I think about it that technically means it is a crossover. You can be in the same universe but also have two different franchises of characters connect.

If she keeps that upgrade for Andy handy that would be dandy as candy.
@@gueropalma6649 lol good play on words👍
Last stand motif
Plus assuming samples would have been taken from Romulus for further experiments. To other research facilities, to be honest they could go anywhere with this plot wise.
Hopefully we get more movies.
Lots of potential ideas could definitely come from all of that so we'll see!
He should do a prequel that shows what happened to the engineer from the first alien film with the hole in its chest, and finish David's story Arch.
Not sure if that Alien will ever show up again but a movie about David's story could happen still given the ending of Covenant
Actually, the earliest alien-predator crossover is in the film predator 2 ,where we can see the xenomorph skull on display in the predator ship.
That was the earliest but I was more so asking for the latest crossover but thanks for reminding me about that connection that Predator 2 does have
It was an Easter egg not a crossover
@@charlesgallagher1072 but it does sort of canonized the xenomorph in the predator universe, but ironically not vice versa 😂
@@tymaxi a fair enough way to look at it I hear what you mean
I would love to see Alien Isolation movie that would be so cool.
God PLEASE NO, DO NOT DO A CROSS OVER FILM. Continue the story of Andy and Rain!
Hey fair enough I would love to see that too
Fede trilogy and then finish Prometheus trilogy. Make them simultaneously.
I think Godzilla vs Kong from 2021 counts as a crossover.
I love to see another Alien vs Predator movie. And one of the synthetic turns out to be a T-800. Haha.
People have convinced me and ya that seems to be a crossover. Lmao if Terminator tied into this universe I think that would collapse the internet.
I'd love to see a new Alien v Predator film. Even tho the first two AvP films didn't really work put like the studio had hoped, it was a unique concept.
Really enjoyed this movie, and I'm sure Fede Alvarez would do another great job if offered the chance to direct a sequel.
Hope a new AVP movie is more like the games and comics
Never read them or played them so I couldn't say but hear good things
Even though I despise the majority of flix in the franchise, I am continually drawn to it. Ridley is 86 now and we need Awakening.
If Ridley ever sees Awakening get made he'll have to be on the sideline as a producer and not director
I just want more like Alien, Prometheus, and Alien Romulus. AVP at this point would just make me groan lol
Hey that's fair if you want the other stuff as opposed to AVP
Lmao I could not imagine a world where that would be who they pick to direct an AVP movie but dreams can happen
I just want to see the final prequel to Alien.
The last crossover movie was perhaps Godzilla vs. Kong 2021
Is that technically a crossover though? I thought Godzilla and Kong were always in the same universe as each other? It was never separated.
@@filmobsessednerdthe original King Kong was a US film from 1933 while Godzilla a Japanese film from 1954. There was no coordination between the original filmmakers that I am aware of.
Not sure if youd consider it a true "crossover" but we literally just had Deadpool and Wolverine release the same time as Romulus.
The reason I wouldn't consider that a true one is because they are both Marvel characters. Maybe my definition of a crossover is a bit different then others. For example a more true crossover is if DC and Marvel came together for a film.
I can imagine Rain meet with Amanda Ripney after Amanda escape the IOS game with the crews she helped.
but Ripney so legendary they have to careful on the role picks....
I never played Isolation, so it ended in a way where you could say that that could connect in with Rain and Andy?
@@filmobsessednerd 2137 Alien Isolation when Amanda looks for her mom at the space station Ripney was 15 years ago and the movie is 2142 i guess the periods r pretty close
@@hmmdoh7835 years ago or years old? Ok cool so then maybe it could happen! I think they would be really cool if the next film under Fede of course could tie that in given he played the game.
I wanna see more action packed one like aliens. Would love to see rain or another character go with a bunch of marines and have one more bad ass xeno killing movie. Love the horror aspect of alien but I think at some point you do have to increase the stakes. Maybe a full on infestation on a human planet and marines need to go in and clean it up (but also get ripped apart)
Agreed that would be awesome to see! No matter what just include the marines in some fashion.
The only obvious answer is “what happened to the colony on LV 426? This is the only story that I want to see. It can start out with the colonist getting the heads up about the alien ship, and ending when the Sulako arrives in orbit. Yes, we already know what happens, but, what happened?
Maybe that ties into the Andy and Rain story. Maybe instead of heading towards Yvaga they are sent off course to that colony.
it should be alien:remus
THIS. The story of Big Chap on the station. Prequel to A:R. Why not? How did he end up in the ceiling...
Praying they make Alien: Phalanx based off the book….
Explain that, what is the book about?
Surely the alien queen from aliens could have chrysellised itself like the alien from this one , so could do something with that 🤩🤩🤩

@@filmobsessednerd I've heard about the casting. Remember how we roasted Adrian Brody for being small, and how amber midthunder we had complaints about her being able to fight it at all... They cast a 5'3 ish little woman in the lead roll again. And it might be cool from an alien perspective, but you have no idea how much it hurts to know we will never get Dutch again. Dutch is Arnold's character in the first movie if you didn't know
@@filmobsessednerd Mr h reviews has gone over the casting and that's it, I'm concerned we are moving into alien territory instead of going full action film like predator should be, I fear we are going full girl power and that like that last film, the predator won't get great screen time, and won't have much done before it's killed.

I don't think anyone ever thought that to be the case unless done in comic form
The aliens needs to be more 3D instead of 2D (what I mean by this is they need to show intelligence/tactic rather than just a crawling snarling monster, which they have been in the last few movies) give aliens a new edge just my opinion

I do think the last quarter of the movie is a bit of a let down but still sorta ok
He builds tension so well...
He did it well in the ED remake and i knew he would bring that back to the Alien movies
I thought the ending was also decent but not incredible. That reveal of the alien is terrifying!
Everyone remember the alien hybrid figures??? Kenner let’s see all alien versions in one movie?? Home???
Just to correct, last crossover film was not AVP but Godzilla and Kingkong surely

What is a Yautja?

@@aarondk74 ah ok interesting I did not know that

You mean Fede? I wouldn’t mind seeing that as an alternative to if Ridley was going to direct it.
Hey that's fair I don't blame you for wanting to think that way even if I personally am someone who was fascinated by that stuff
The only way to do an AVP movie is to include colonial marines.
Not a bad idea, I think that could work but that would then establish that Predators do exist in the same world as Xeno's do and I wonder if that would mess with a lot of continuity
honestly Im against alien and predator being in the same universe. seems like a cheesy money grab.
Here's what I am going to say that. In a way I agree with you, which is why if I was making the movie I probably would separate any continuity between the franchises and their mainline films. Make it its own things separate from any other stuff that came before.
i completely agree i hear alien sets in the same universe as bladerunner which is a better idea to me than avp
You’re about 30 years late on that opinion

We need at least one more Alien movie and another predator movie out in the theatres, then do Alien v Predator, in a way unlike any of the previous. Set it up in the future, marines, aliens and predator. At the end, make all humans dead, predator wins and takes the skull to his ship and leaves.

I absolutely loved the first AvP film. The sequel was a disaster.
Cross over just happened. Godzilla vs kong?
Aren't those two characters in the same universe though? I guess when I say crossover I mean that in the sense of two different franchises coming together. Sounds like major hopium on a crossover. Do you really think the previous films were underwhelming because they were created by mediocrities? An alternative hypothesis is that the realities of hollywood budgeting and commercial pressure makes it very tough to execute a crossover between the two different universes. You can swap a director but all those other issues don't go away.
I mean, as some people have said in this very comment section we did just see a franchise do it and make a lot of money with Godzilla and Kong. There are ways to where you can budget it well enough that you’re not going overboard.
