    Your biggest problem is those horrible ko2’s. Those things are like skates. Remember a hard compound that lasts a long time is horrible on ice. Softer compounds for the win.

    Great Vid. 30 plus years of repairing these ARB Airleakers has pretty much paid off my house. They also (10 + yrs back?) 'standardised' a lot of the locker centres, leading to (in a lot of cases) a much smaller set of side gears/pins etc than what was in the original and earlier ARB centres. Edit - as clean and meticulous as you do the install.... wont help with any bearing /gear material that will (not a matter of if) end up destroying either the 2 quad O'rings or the bigger actuator seal. If there's an option for fitting a TJM ProLocker , go with one of those instead. No centre 'shrinkage,' no O'rings on moving parts.

    I've got a 2013 Jeep JK & 2018 Jeep JL, both with Teraflex 60's under them and ARB's F&R, 42" tires, 5:19's and weight about 6000-6200 lbs, I have a 53 Willys CJ3B, 9" rear w/spool, Dana 44 front with Yukon Zip Locker (air), 5:89's, 40" tires, #3400 lbs and a 2000 Toyota 4Runner with rear E-locker and front lunchbox locker. In the last 2 years I've had 4 of the 5 air lockers fail while on the trail and then fail again after repairing them. I carry everything to rebuild one on the trail. The Zip locker is the least reliable of the air lockers. The 3 jeeps have a grand total of maybe 20,000 miles on them. 2 of them are just off road rigs and the JL only has 10K on it. My 2000 4runner is about to pass 330,000 miles, 3.4l, TRD black supercharger on it, URD 7th injector and bunch of mods. I have wheeled the living crap out of this 4 runner, especially the last 3 years or so. It's seen hard abuse for 33" tires. The E-locker in the runner has never failed me, ever. It always works, even after blowing the seal out of the rear axle and running it low on fluid and filled with water on an occasion. It always engages with a little slip of a tire but has never been an issue. A good mechanic can bypass some of the features to get the locker to engage when you want it at any speed in high or low range.

      With MTS on, you will lose and gain its functionality as your mph moves in and out of its speed parameters. It is a safety feature. Toyota does not want a sudden application of MTS-applied breaks at higher speeds.

      @OverlandPNW หลายเดือนก่อน

      I lived in Utah for several years and know what you mean. I talked a little bit about snow tires in the comment section. Tires rated with the 3PMSF symbol only means that that the tires’ traction is supposed to be at least 10% superior on medium-packed snow compared to a generic all-season tire. And, that traction is only tested for straight-line acceleration, not breaking or anything else. So, driver experience is always the most important thing when it comes to winter driving.
