I mounted a set of 30mm on my Zip 303s with 25mm internal width, a really plush and confidence building ride on poor pavement. I might consider getting a pair of no. 6s.

Microphone is great, I can't believe you can stay on the bike for a 6 hour cycle wit the same saddle as me, Im on a modified Giant Contend SL 1 Disc with upgraded Discs, wheel set, saddle and carbon handle bars....I feel I need to be closer to handle bars but I can't move any further forward with saddle, the one piece stem is 80mm and size is M and I'm 179cm 5"10.....any advice appreciated

Great job guys and I agree most of the best riding is up along the lake for Chicago cyclists , but there's also some Great hills with not allot of cars in barrington Illinois back behind the high school and you can weave your way way up North. There's some great punchy hill climbs by Barrington golf club great area to ride and the barrington bicycle club has done a lot to put signage on the road for bicyclists

No the front wheel external width is only 30mm, the 32mm is maximum width in the middle of the depth. So, no it's not optimize for 30mm tyre.

Hey Bro, Where did you get the specialized custom decals? I'm looking to freshen up the look of my S Works Tarmac SL6.

The SL8 just looks sooooo boring. Wonder how bad you China frames must have been if you say the quality on the SL8 is so much better. I have 2 Elves framesets and they are both flawless, same with my Seka. I could not think of anything that a SL8 would be able to do better. Compfort is a very subjective thing and is highly influenced by what wheels and what tire setup you are running...what handlebar tape, and your bikefit. What is improtant is that YOU like the frame!

“No. 6” wheels is a knockoff brand launched in China in 2024 by a former No. 22 Bicycle dealer who blatantly copied our existing No. 6 Composites branding. We ended our relationship with that dealer in January 2024 and they almost immediately knocked off our branding for use on their rebranded (dangerously wide for road use) Farsports wheels. I’m sure there are better options from more reputable wheel brands available who bring something to the table other than intellectual property theft.

Good articulated points, I have the same SL8 color, bought the frame for $2900 size 52. Once I did a bike fit, the bike is super comfortable for 100 mile day rides. Mine is set up with 28mm tires and DT PRC 1400 35mm wheels, Ultegra R8170 transmission. I build the bike myself and it was satisfying how easy it was to put it together on my own.

Hi not sure if you mention this already but are the decals on the wheels are they removal or not ?

I picked-up a pair of Red White bibs on a sale price and have been generally satisfied with them. I have ridden them for a full season and they have held up very well. For me, the best aspect of the bibs is the quality construction. There has been absolutely no fraying, stretching, etc. I agree with Patrick's statement that the bibs do fit slightly snug. I am a size L in a typical bib short (LeCol, Pearl Izumi, etc.) and I purchased a L in the Red White. They do fit, but when I put them on I do have the feeling that they are more snug than my other bibs. The snugness does not in any way impair the ride quality however. I would not rate these in the same category as Castelli which I have to do a full size up to an XL to get them to fit. I find the chamois is good, again, quality construction, however, these are not on the "plush" side. I am very comfortable riding these bibs on any ride up to about 100k, for anything longer, I personally would prefer a slightly thicker and more plush chamios. At $140 these are a quality bib at a fair price in my opinion. If you catch them on a sale then I would rate them as a good buy.

I was not able to ride or test an S-works but your review is pretty much exactly my feelings and experiences with the 'standard' SL8. I now have a LOOK Blade 795RS. With the same components (not wheels though, Corima WS 47 with the LOOK, Rovals with the SL8) the LOOK is 600g heavier but feels faster! In a comparison of is it faster the answer appears to be no discernible difference, numbers wise average speeds etc over a wide range of terrains (no super long climbs though!). Despite all the flak the LOOK gets, slow in tests etc, it really is the best bike I have ever owned and I have owned a lot! One thing though I really wish they would fit narrower width bars as standard, man it's expensive to swap the proprietary bars and 38cm (40 outside to outside) is the narrowest you can get
