Hello Model Clubbers! I know, I know, this has nothing to do with models. But, I needed a way to show Brian and others and not have to have a zoom meeting to zoom in every time. I spotted these while at a driveway party in Oak Lawn Illinois around 4:10 in the afternoon on October 19th, 2024. They were blinking on and off and changing formation and crossing over each other at times. They were mo...

congrats jerry on winning Barnabas, I want to see it when you paint cuz I know it'll turn out awesome!
Thank you. Looks like a fun kit to paint
This definitely encourages me to switch from Chaos Black as my go-to.
That werewolf movie sounds like a fun watch, will have to keep an eye out for it. I love speedpaints. They are great for basecoating. Word of warning, they are not very durable when airbrushed. Even with multiple clear coats. So be cautious about covering large areas with them. But man, the results are amazing.
Army painters are called speed paint, vallejo are express paints, contrast is citidel.
Thank you both. Enjoyed the episode.
Autopsey of Jane Doe!! Excellent movie!! Surprised me as well, pleasantly!
That is why I do not like newer arenas. The seats are too small, and too up-and-down also. The back of the seat in front of me should not come below my knee. You stand up and all you think is what would happen if you fell forward. That is why I love the smaller local places. Comfortable seats and cheap parking. But if I go to a big place, its GA floor all the way for me. Even if I am not in the middle of the pit. As far as Eddie kits. There are some real nice resin miniatures out there. Fully licensed, so they aren't cheap. $74 for a 1/24 figure or 1/12 bust. MiM still sells a couple of Posthumous Productions full figure kits. The Somewhere in Time figure, or the Piece of Mind figure. There are a bunch of 3D prints out there. (watch out, there are A LOT of FDM prints) There is a ton of stuff on Etsy. Some expensive statues, resin busts, resin key-chain things, fridge magnets, etc. I think Andy Cope still sells his stylized Killers bust. Then, there is a long list of pieces that or OOP now. Thank to looking around to see what was still available, I found one I didn't know about. I gotta go to bed. Will watch the rest of the video later.
Boris Karloff is only mummy liked of that era .. This mummy of this movie is not skinny enough..
So. I’ve bought several X-Plus kits and have usually liked what I got. But. One thing I’ve noticed is their prices have gotten ridiculous. I don’t care about their detail or parts counts, you can get an equally detailed figure, 3 times the size, for the same price. These kits are puny! Definitely not worth the $80 + shipping most vendors are asking. Even their 1/8 scale kits are wallet busters. No thanks.
The Gamera kits are small for sure. I think I may be tainted a bit though, I build Warhammer stuff and the prices for that stuff makes X-Plus kits look like a steal. I get it though. What do you think is a fair price for a plastic figure kit?
@@modelclubtv That’s such a loaded question for me, personally. I actually stopped and considered my spending habits and had to laugh at myself. But, honestly, for a kit this size, from the perspective of a lower middle-class wage earner with all the rent, car payments, yadda yadda, my “it’s all about me” view would be to say, the Gamera kit held interest until I saw the price and scale. Inside I was wanting an updated Gamera kit but couldn’t justify more than $50 for something like this. Having said that, I did get both the X-Plus Vampirella ( I may have picked up both versions….been an interesting couple of years, they’re packed away, I drink, so, I’ve forgotten) and the Creature’s Revenge kits. I, also, had to admit that I probably spend too much on the old Aurora kits for rehabbing and resale purposes to keep feeding the model buying machine. So, it’s like having an argument with Bill Clinton about what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is. I’ve collected some of the older (80’s-90’s) Gamera vinyl figures so that probably played into the equation as well. And things ain’t cheap, these days, for me or, I’m sure, for companies footing the production costs of these kits and crossing their fingers that they cross from the red into the black. To further illustrate that I have little ground to stand on, I collect PNSO and HLG dinosaurs. HGL’s most recent offering will cost me, with shipping from China, right about the $300 mark and THAT is a big expense. Granted, it’s a whopper of an Argentinosaurus that’s about to eat up significant shelf space but it gets worse. I may be springing for two because of the various color variants. That, in itself, makes my price argument on Gamera a little empty and specious. Anyhow, I did have a good laugh at my own expense after considering your question and pointing a finger at myself. Love your vids, thanks for that and keep it up.
@@thomasmonroe7947 Trust me I get it. I just got hit with doubling of property taxes, car insurance and home insurance, my spending habits will be changing.
another enjoyable episode, boys!! Thanks!
Happy Birthday Jason and happy Halloween Dark shadows
At this rate, I don't see why anyone would turn to Citadel sprays when both Monument hobbies and Colour forge give you more, for less. My go to black is Krylon Pure Primer. It works great, can find it everywhere and it's inexpensive. The white is always the hard one to nail, and Vallejo's white spray can works very well, but it still has the splotchy look when trying to zenithal. May need to give the white a try from Pro Acryl. Thanks for the in-depth analysis
Thank you for the review. Just got mine in the mail. Looks like a fun kit to paint 😁
Yeah,, plastic kits are really nostalgia from days of smoking in stores to parents having swinger parties.. oops I mean cocktail hour.. You have gundam which is really big still.. But figure kits of old monsters movies really old moldy movies.. have been done are being done.. Don't expect more.. It's babyboomer nostalgia thing..some can't let go.. I have no need of plastic kits . not my thing .. Nor do I need the cheap buzz of plastic welder melting plastic..
