Is The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled About To Make A Comeback In 2024?
I recently purchased the 1100 dark pro and I absolutely love it! There were no new models manufactured for 2024, so had to request the Ducati dealership in my city to find one available for me…so got a 2023 made new one
Looks amazing, I'd give one a go
It's a no brainer, buy a Honda.
How about if RE and Honda colaborate like design are from RE and engine that backed up by Honda.
I have owned multiple bikes that use this engine including 2 CBR500’s and now a CL. The smooth free revving and playful nature of the engine is why I keep buying them. Also owned a MT07 and although that sounded good and made good bottom end power it never rewarded you for revving it out with the power coming to an abrupt end higher up in the rev range. If Honda went 270 degrees with this engine I would never buy another one.
I'm still NOT seeing the 2025 GTL on the BMW website. What's going on!??!?
I own both as a vet expert off road racer. As a motorcycle in general, the Africa Twin wins for me hands down. They're not even in the same class. But as far as "which is better off road", it's easy to lean toward the T7 because numbers and media influence have pushed us that way, but as far as I'm concerned they're practically identical. Both big heavy behemoths that can be pushed to go wherever if you really need to, but it doesn't take long to get to the point where I would not call it fun. They're a novelty off-road for sure, and laughable to someone who rides, trains, and races on actual race bikes. The reality is that they're dirt road princesses but some people have mental illness that leads them to take on impossible tasks, like riding a 500lb motorcycle in difficult terrain. But let's get on with it. The T7 can be pushed harder in fast sections on the stock suspension. The AT is much easier to handle in slow technical terrain because the stock suspension is remarkably good there. The T7, with it's "anti squat" is harder to handle in the sand because it keeps pushing it's ass end up in the air and won't settle. The T7 is fun to ride in tight twisty roads, but it's fun like a 125. Screaming engine and grabbing gears like a madman, but you're not going half as fast as you feel like you are lol. The AT is faster and it's so drama-free it's easier to get into trouble. The AT is a little harder to find traction when you're really trying to get on it in mud or loose marble gravel roads, but we're talking half a bike-length here between the 2 bikes. The T7 is so top heavy that slippery or slow technical terrain really makes you pucker. You can feel it trying to pull itself to china when you really lean it over coming into a corner, and you have to be really aggressive with body language and throttle to keep it upright, which can be unnerving with such a big bike with mediocre tires (insert street legal tire) in the dirt. The AT is easier to ride than the T7. Let me make a statement here: A good bike can get the job done, a GREAT bike can get the job done without drama and without wearing you out. The T7 gives me significantly more "oh shit" moments when I'm unexpectedly catapulted sideways into the air from some little unseen edge or rock. This deflection happens a little too often, leading to trust issues and so it puts me on guard whenever I'm coming into something tricky at speed. I can ride more efficiently on the AT and therefore longer before I need to go into energy save mode and dial back the pace for a minute (vet problems). The T7 is more reliable. I had starting issues and suspension damage on my AT the second year of riding it. The T7 gets moody and doesn't want to start sometimes but always started eventually. Finally, the T7 looks better, with it's little dakar suit on. I've had a lot of fun on both. I bought the T7 because I thought it'd be a better fit for me as an off-roader. It wasn't. Soon after bringing it home I realized it was a mistake because it was a significant downgrade from the AT. After the honeymoon phase it actually sat in my shop untouched for a couple years before I forced myself to ride it again (shit or get off the pot). Yamaha slapped together a budget adventure bike from the MT-07, spent most of the development budget on appearance, and produced a MASSIVELY successful marketing campaign. Now they're selling it at premium prices. I'm actually shocked at how many people gush over this bike. Ownership bias I guess.
Wow that's a good looking bike!
Does the transmission still clunk?
Not available in the USA and it piss me off . Why?
Hi Rob I really enjoyed this one much more info with the Q&A thank you
I love te looks of gb750 hornet. Philippines here..🥰
Recently bought a stelvio, I love it, great design and presence. I had three GS's and 1150, 1200,and 1200 adv. I could never get comfortable on the 1200adv. Possibly, I got bored with them. The Stelvio is a breath of fresh air and you can even ride it through heavy traffic as its quite slim compared to the BMWs. Try one, its refreshing
If you have ever ridden a super fast e-bile you would understand
Can’t believe that BMW ditched the main tail light. Really, really stupid idea.
Nice review. I agreed a 270 crank parallel twin sounds better but to be honest.....I like the sound for example of the Honda CL500 engine. I rode few weeks ago and it didn't botter. I also rode on the Kawasaki Z500 to test it and that sound was already different than that from the Honda. The Honda sounds better for me. The sound for example of the Aprilia RS457 is even better but again. I liked the sound of the Honda CL500. Probably the only 180 engine sound I like. For example the sound of the CF moto 700 sounds like a mechanical problem. No joy for me but the same with all the other 650/700 parallel twins from CFmoto, moto morini and go on. The Triumph parallel twins producing a great sound indeed. Well done. Regards Wim
I am so sick of naked bikes....I mean I did buy one ONLY becuse it costs so damn much more for anything decent with a fairiing (not talking ADV AT ALL!) I think fairings are coming back for 2025! YAY!
The rally is 115mph so gearing but, the swingarm on the rally is 35mm longer. So gettin out of the slop, will be easyer.🙏🙏👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🏍️🏍️
Love my icon 800, 41000k on it . Used eveey day. Thinking of changing to 1100 pro .
The 2014 Z900 also had that two eye angry look and it also came in red so Ducati weren’t the first to do that look and they won’t be the last. I think the CB1000 Hornet looks fantastic BUT I’m not really interested in a 150 hp monster that guzzles fuel. I’d rather see an updated CB650R with an SP option with upgraded suspension and brakes, RBW throttle with up and down QS, and CRUISE CONTROL!! Honda!! CRUISE CONTROL!! I think 650 is plenty for the road while still being fuel efficient and not too big/heavy. It’s plenty. I wish there were more premium 650 class motorcycles because all the proper nice motorcycles are either much bigger/more powerful or 600 class supersports bikes. Imagine a CBR650R/CB650R with the finish and tech of the CBR600RR?
Motocross rider from the US here. I just stumbled on this news today as I began looking for a new 2025 ride, and I have to say it’s very concerning for me. China has NEVER been known for quality and there are too many moving parts to go wrong on a motorcycle. The problem I’m having now is that KTM has cornered the market with the 350s and are the only manufacturer to make one which kinda leaves me with having to look at 250s or 450s as an alternative. Not liking this idea one bit. Sounds like shareholder greediness.
If only some of these designers were working at Honda
Scooter is twist ang go and italget is not
Its not a scooter
Xdiavel is a show stopping motorcycle. 👀
According to Ducati website, it does not include the aluminum panniers
I am considering a new bike for 25. BMWs are just too much so. My new two choices are the 1000 Hornet SP or the new 800 Triumph.
I prefer bear 650 or Guerrila 450
Have bmw fixed the the wobble at 65mph
honda dax 2024 i got one in pearl glittering blue had it since may now ready for first service ,all i can say is abrillant bike looks great and has bags of character and retro nostalgia had an st70 in 1972 this one sure does brings back the charm of riding ,which i feel many bikes of today lack ,thanks for your reviews 😀
If I buy a KTM made in China, I would expect it to be significantly cheaper.
Could this be the new 800cc triumph which they showed on their story that day
Maybe time to give up the beard? It looks thin man
This is the new bike launching in two days. It’ll be based on the speed triple 1200 rr with a 765 street triple engine
Did you see Triumph has teased a new 800-engined bike for official release on Oct 22nd?
The bat bike is totally custom electric bike
RB bikes are fire
I. Love. It.
The bike has been on the Chinese market since 2020. One owner has 300,000+ km on the odometer. Aside from basic maintenance the only repairs he's done is change out the clutch plates.
Hi Guys, I'm 6'2 which Scrambler would you recommend? What about the dessert sledge?
That's a good question. I'm 6'1'' and currently on a 1250GS - which I use all year round - but I'm finding it a bit heavy plus I don't do any 'Grand Tours' anymore. I had an original 250 Scrambler back in the early 70's - frigging loved it! Would I regret an 1100? Would it rust away in front of my eyes? Is servicing a nightmare??
It's going to be a tourer, but not so much a 'Tiger' style. More sat up than STriple. Protection from fairings. Larger tank. Cruise control. Etc
if this doesn't comes with stock quickshifter... if it's something you have to buy extra, its gonna be such a redflag!
Iay off the drugs fellas
Won’t buy a Ktm ever again!!! China junk.
Do the other 450 cc cfmoto bike too
u just said what I was about to say It is a very capable bike with loads of features but it a very ugly bike BMW could come up with something much much very good looking but they failed
From my understanding the ktm bikes are assembled in a certified ktm shop in china. The assembly plant was set up by ktm and ships ktm parts to them for assembly. There is a huge difference between a product designed away from china and assembled there versus designed and assembled in china.
I HATE the new design
Got sick of waiting for this bike and I recon it will still be more road biased so I bought a AJP PR7 and am loving it.
I test rode one, It's not that comfy, far too expensive, vibrates so hard as to be uncomfortable BUT I'm looking to buy one because it just feels so good. I'm not getting it as an only bike.
