I have a 2021 GSA triple black with 33k miles and it is brilliant. My name is top of the list for a new one at my local dealership. Tonka, Caterpillar, Equinox .. it looks utilitarian and the looks will grow on everyone to the point my current bike will look dated. Everything changes.
Nice fridge! No, really, the GS was never a beauty queen. But it looked like a serious adventure motorcycle. The new GSA 1300 looks like it's not a part of the motorcycle world but a part of home depot - appliances section .
It looks interesting - certainly different! People negatively over-react to pretty much every new bike on social media these days.... chill out and wait until you see it in the flesh :D
I think it is insane that so many people are obsessed with the looks of an adventure bike. It should all be about functionality and I think they nailed it in this perspective. I also like the looks. I have a 2021 R1250 40 year edition GSA. I will keep it and buy the new 1300 GSA. 👍🏻👊🏻
I think you should get the opinions from people who have owned a few GS bikes and covered decent miles with them! That way, you/we get a more accurate picture of how this bike might fair going forward from experienced GS owners! I remember the comments about the first GSA! Just look what happened after all the negativity after the launch of that first GSA!
Im betting this will sell, wait till you see it in the showroom and then test ride it,it got a 1250 GSA new last year but I see this a more modern version, alot of GSA owners will buy it and there's alot of them out there👍
Overall look, shorter beak thing, auto box and the usual shaft drive all positives for me, unfortunately I can’t say the same about the price but in a couple of years…
Its only the result of what the BMW designer see on every GS: a little tankbag here, a little tankbag there, a bag at the handlebar and on the frontfender, on top of every aluminumcase and so on, and so on
The story behind the design in BMW must have been like: "So let's build a new 1300 GSA from lego first and then we will design a real motorcycle accordingly"
It's a Toaster over with wheels. Let me say this, it looks like a Swiss army Knife, it's Ugly AF, but people still buy Swiss Army Knives, and this will sell as well, to those guys who do get it, just to show it off.
Don't beat about the bush! ALL adventure bikes are grotesque! They may be great bikes and they may be the one bike for all types of rider, but...none of them are beauty queens, are they?
After puking and choking and blowing the vomit out of my nose I started really liking it. I'll have one. Then I'll put a dinner table on top of the tank. After 380 miles it will be nice to take a break before doing 380 more. Coldfoot to Prudhoe and back all on a long summer day
@@AB-kc3hg haha. You never see a motorcycle in front of a therapist's office. Psycle therapy is what I take. Haha. All good. I've owned over two dozen BMW's, kinda used to them by now. And many others
@@AB-kc3hg yhe new RT has similar looks on the tank and tank top. Same frame pretty much. Standard fair for BMW. I'm interested in the RS edition whenever they come available. Some contrast stripes on the panels will help break up the slab sided look. In real life I'm sure that effect isn"t so noticeable. 3D view helps in reality
It is pretty awful, at what point would you be better off in a car? Not really into adventure type bikes anyway but the 1250 I thought looked ok in a rugged way. I’m sure it’s a really competent bike but that damning with faint praise
I know you guys didn't vote on it but the Bimota doesn't belong on any ugliest motorcycle list. And I'm so confused about this "Pan America doesn't look so bad," sentiment I keep hearing. Looks are subjective obviously but it looks like someone decided to put a Street Shark on wheels. It's that perfect combination of ugly and goofy that makes me chuckle with embarrassment anytime I see it. As an American I'm hoping that one day we'll make an adventure bike that isn't wince inducing. The GS - while ugly - is a beauty queen in comparison. The KTM isn't great by any means but I'd be less likely to look at it in shame after a ride than the ugly Duc-ling, porkly Beemer or Harley Street Shark. That Bimota though is otherworldly and in an awesome way. These are just my opinions though, thanks for the laughs.
Waited for this before upgrading my 1250 GSA - Yuck. I'm not sure about the riding experience either and the gearbox changes?? I have ridden the GS1300 as a taster and get that it's smaller, lighter & sportier than current 1250s. I agree that it grows on you a bit but, still ugly. As far as being utilitarian, I think it's trying waaaay too hard with the hooks & mounts everywhere. All in all I'm disappointed after 5 various GS/GSA over the years. Gone with the Ducati Multistrada V4.
I thinks that the fact that some people get used to it over time, is the most horrifying of all! KTM is making some of the ugliest bikes during the last decade, but seems like BMW is trying to steal their crown. And no... The original Multistrada is not an ugly bike by any means - even after 20 years. Yes, some of its parts look out of place, but I still prefer this over the newer, bulkier, and without personality versions. It was the first big supermotard. Now it's just another big on-off tourer.
Heavy as heck, ridiculously expensive .. Everyone was expecting lighter simpler less expensive bike but no BMW insist on bitting on the vague ego of owning a GS for the sake of non sense
Looks, looks, looks, what's wrong with you people!? 😂 They are adv bikes. Tools! If you're obsessed with looking good and being posers, work out! When i'm on my bike, i just want to a have a good time.😎
Honestly do not think that BMW can destroy the looks of 1 of the best selling adventure bikes any more in the future..........But than again look at the new 1300 adventure🤮
Yes……it’s hideous! Saying that, it will sell because the BMW fanboys have blinders for other bikes. I can’t wait to hear them tell me about the “new tech, automatic transmission” and how it works…..to someone who’s been riding a DCT Honda for several years now. 😂🤣
It’s so ugly, this will damage BMW sales I’m sure. Could be wrong but as a GSA owner, I won’t be buying one any time soon. Shame as I think they have missed a trick with this.
The new R1300 GS is not a look I would buy. The R1300 GSA is a dog to look at and again I wont be buying. Regardless of the tech on board (we all assume that will be outstanding) its the look of the bike which will stop me buying. I've had 3 BMW GS bikes and 1 S1000XR.
u just said what I was about to say It is a very capable bike with loads of features but it a very ugly bike BMW could come up with something much much very good looking but they failed

Proof that people will buy anything. I am sure it'll be nice to ride though.

Sad but true
I actually think it looks cool!!
I actually am starting to like it
I like it alot, when trade in time comes, ill have the triple black GSA 🖤
Tonka toy truck ,but guess what I love Tonka and love this bike.

This awful mixture of PanAmerica and Suzuki XT makes me feel proud of my 2020 kalamata GSA
Ef no! Keeping my '07 R1200GS for a few more years for sure.
It’s a tank on two wheels. But when you’re out on an “adventure “ crushing the landscape it fits in.

They said the Hayabusa was ugly...it sold
I expect it to unfold itself and stand up as some giant Transformer autobot. That's how grotesque it is.
Looks great. Same design aesthetics as the new Toyota Land Cruiser. It's blocky, and I like it.
It looks like how Frankenstein would design a Frankenstein, only worse.
Overall look, shorter beak thing, auto box and the usual shaft drive all positives for me, unfortunately I can’t say the same about the price but in a couple of years…
imagine that thing with hard panniers in the back!!
Some bikes you just have sit on/touch to make up your mind.

exactly right - ugliest bike ever, I thought BMW cannot screw up any more after regular GS came out but this is beyond....LOL

If I was an off-road rider, looks would not really matter.
I love the masculine line on the Pan America and I like the new GSA. Maybe, I have no taste for aesthetics.
IMO, a face only a mother could love...🙂
The dislike is for the 1300GSA. What where the designers at BMW thinking.
Why, oh why they done it?
Do you not think that the Standard GS1300 looks like a Honda NC750 🤣
Well done
I love Marmite and i from Catalonia 😃

Prefer the standard but it’s nothing like my lovely Ducati, like a Defender on two wheels😬. Had a 1250 GSA but not going back, too heavy and fugly…

It's an utilitarian design, not beautiful but form follows function; like warships, tanks or military aircraft.
It may be a capable bike. But the 1300 said I’m the ugliest bike and the Adventure model said, hold my beer.
love the adventure. dont like the new GS 1300, horrible shape. Would rather have the 1250, looks far better

The Germans really fucked up this time. Almost like Honda who messed up alot of their main bike like the Goldwing.
