How Does the Suzuki C50 Boulevard Handle on the Highway? | Motovlog #29
มุมมอง 102K3 ปีที่แล้ว
What's going on you guys? In this video I take the Suzuki C50 onto the highway for a quick run and share my thoughts on how it handles. Ultimately, if you're looking for a decent highway cruiser or commuter, you can't go wrong with the Suzuki C50. It definitely handles better than my Honda CB500X. Not too much buffeting, enough power to pass, although a 6th gear would be nice. As always, thanks...

The Final Ride on my 2014 Honda CB500x | NOT a Motovlog
มุมมอง 1.1K4 ปีที่แล้ว
For the last ride on my 2014 Honda CB500X I put together this video of one of my favorite scenic rides in Hamilton. It's not one of my typical motovlogs where I ramble on throughout the entire video. There's some discussion at the beginning about the bike and the rest of the video is some shots of the CB500X with highlights from my last ride. I'll definitely miss the CB500X and will probably ge...

After a little more than a year of ownership I've made the decision to sell my beautiful 2014 Honda CB500X. While it's an amazing bike, it just isn't the right bike for me. This is probably one of the last rides I'll enjoy on the CB500X. I wanted to make this video to explain why I'm selling the bike and capture one of my final rides! Thanks for watching. Why I Always Ride Alone | Motovlog #23

Most of the time I prefer riding alone. Personally, solo rides are more entertaining, allow for more spontaneity, and are less stressful than riding in a group. The more I ride, the less I want to ride with other people. In this video, I discuss my reasons for riding a motorcycle alone and why I think it's the best way to ride. Do you like riding alone? Or do you prefer riding with a buddy or i...

Can You Take the Honda CB500X on the Highway? Is the CB500X Highway Capable? | Motovlog #20
มุมมอง 59K4 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I take my Honda CB500X on the highway to show you guys how it handles at highway speeds. For a 500, it does great on the highway at speeds up to ~14-kmh. Even at ~140kmh there is still plenty of power leftover for passing or accelerating. Although, here in Ontario it's not necessary to be passing anyone or cruising at these speeds for extended periods of time. I just wanted to sha...
Cruising Around Effingham: Southern Ontario's Most Scenic Ride? | Motovlog #19
มุมมอง 4.4K4 ปีที่แล้ว
I was aimlessly riding the back roads to Niagara Falls and stumbled across this beautiful area for riding. There are some great turns, light traffic, and amazing scenery along the roads in Effingham. In my opinion, this is some of the best and most scenic riding here in Ontario. It's not long, but it's quiet and has some amazing twisties. Here's where you can find the roads I was riding: • goo....

Should You Buy a New or Used Motorcycle? | Motovlog #18
มุมมอง 9004 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I go over the pros and cons of buying a new motorcycle vs a used motorcycle. Depending on your budget, lifestyle, riding experience, and motorcycle preferences, there might be a better option for you in the new vs used motorcycle debate. Personally, I'm a fan of used motorcycles, especially for new riders. However, experienced riders or those of you looking for something specific ...

I agree with you, once you go scooter you never wanna go back! lol
I love my 06. It's a great bike. But I also firmly believe that not every bike is good for everyone. I don't necessarily disagree with your assessment of the brakes - i also hate the rear drum. But just like in different cars you have to figure out how much they grab in relation to other vehicles. As for the twisties, that's the only thing that has nothing to do with the bike itself, but rather your mindset about how to ride it. Cruisers can be great in the twisties. But you're not going to be carving out the curves or dragging knee on them. That's not how they're designed to be ridden, especially the bigger ones with floorboards and/or touring packages. It's fine if you enjoy that riding style, but don't expect it from a cruiser. It would be like expecting a family sedan to corner like an F1 race car. It's just not what it's meant for. Glad you tried it out, sorry it wasn't for you. But hopefully whoever gets (or got) it loves it as much as I love mine. Stay safe out there.
I never wanted a cruiser. Too heavy, too long, too clumsy. They just can’t dance like smaller naked bikes. But my wife likes riding with me on long camping trips. As we got older there wasn’t enough leg room for her, and she wanted a more comfortable seat. A relative had to give up riding, and offered me his Vulcan 900 at a price I couldn’t turn down. The first time I rode it I hated it. Over time I learned to deal with many of the issues you noted. It is still not my favorite bike, but I have learned how to appreciate its many positive qualities. On long solo trips I still prefer my Suzuki TU250x, as it gets 80 mpg and handles dirt and gravel roads (something I don’t even want to try on a 630 pound bike with forward controls). Two up the Vulcan is a much better option. Recently I went for a cold Winter ride and noticed how much warmer the Vulcan was with its big windshield and leather lowers. At some point the weight is going to be too much for me (I’m an old retired guy) and I’ll get a smaller touring bike, maybe a Royal Enfield Classic 350. But for as long as I can I plan on enjoying the Vulcan and our trips as often as possible!
its 2019
Planing to add a sissy back rest on my boulevard... can you recommend a good one..?
What a waste by such a baby. Its not the bike its you still being a baby and not knowing what you want
With my M50, I always looked for a 6th gear even after 6 years riding it.
Please keep complaining. 🙏 Hope you find your happiness. 😂😂😂😂
This is a beautiful bike! I just bought a Vulcan 2008 5 weeks ago…my first bike and I love it! Cruisers are definitely great bikes for beginners and veteran riders….you may not be a cruiser type of guy!
“Feels fine” as he’s screaming down the highway doing 75mph 😭😂😂🤦🏻♂️ so slow
Best Bike EVER 👌🏼
My wife and I both had 750 Honda Shadows a few years ago, and we rode those bikes 350 miles one way, down the Interstate to the Gatlinburg Tennessee area for a week with no problem! We've done it three different times! You don't need a big bike to have a good time!
I purchased a bike to get away from people. Not to be around them. Ironically enough, I ride a ZX6R…
Best best best bike it's like a jewel my personal experience I bet these guys do not know how to properly ride a heavy cruiser
I bought one new in07. Not my pick but the wife liked it. I rode it home and loved it!
Iv just bought a 2013 fully tricked out. 18" apes. Fully blacked out engine. Custom straight through pipes. Iv only ever had sports bikes and suppermotos. Never anything with forward controls. I had an accident some years back and the wife has banned me from anything fast. 😂😂 and this will be the first bike that ill be using riding with my club and not solo
Cruisers are not for you.... are any bikes?
As soon as I saw that pad on the seat,I knew he wasn't a biker. His girl hasn't been on the bike, because she doesn't want to hear him complain. 😅
I have a 2005. I live in Palo Alto, ca and ride on the freeway to Fremont ( 30ish minutes) to work then on the way home I take a different freeway including the dangerous 101. My bike does fine even with no windshield
Did you molest the exhaust?
Such a crybaby! These bikes are incredible! Even my 2003 VL800 with carbs.
I take mine on the turnpike doing 90 mph all the time no problems. Although one thing ive noticed is the speedo reads 5 mph higher then it really is when you're over about 70 mph. I tested it with my phone. The fuel cut off is 101 mph yet when i reach about 103 mph it didn't cut out. Mine is a 2007 C50
You would'nt get rained on if you left the windshield.
Retarded video. Brakes are fine. Drums work prefectly fine they have more stopping power than Discs, they just overheat easier.
You speed on a lot of roads in the city, maybe slow the f down, doing 60 on roads that are 40, smh
I did 4 hours today on the interstate. The bike can do it but the question is can the rider put up with the wind. Its like riding a picnic table in 80mph sustained winds. Its rougher on you than it is the bike. I feel like the sweet spot is between 65mph-70mph..... but it has probably 50% throttle left so it csn do way more, its just not fun.
News flash bro. The c50 is actually 10 times more comfortable than a Harley. I’ve owned both and nothing more comfortable than the c50. Took an 8 hour road trip and loved it.
Rode mine to Sturgis and back from South Central Mo, to Waco tx twice and Sturgis KY pulling a trailer several times
U just needed different bars itll help with posture i changed mine and i gotta say Huge difference less back issues and stiff joints
You LOST ALL cred. when you put that crap on your seat!
I AM BUYING ONE IN TWO WEEKS AND CONTENT WITH HAPPYNESS *****
So your saying sitting up straight hurts lol your getting old man. Just accept it
I was wondering about that because I never put mine on the highway yet
I bet your specific bike just doesn't have handlebar weights I think it's called, that stabilizes that vibration
I'm 140 lbs and tipped my 2006 suzuki boulevard twice. I was able to pick it right back up twice no troubles. It's a good lighter bike that still has great stabilization
what year is this bike?
Informative review- thank you. What year is this bike?
Hi thanks for the video. How tall are you ?
Love the sound.
Maybe play Golf instead 😂
Did you not ride this before you bought it ? Another thing I can help but notice, why do you hold your grips at the very end ?
Just bought my first bike. It's a 2011 Suzuki Boulevard C50. I got my beginner's permit, so I'm practicing on it right now, just in the parking lot. I take my course August 10th weekend.
Good luck this weekend! I am in the process of getting everything together.
I have a 2007 C50. Bought it new. I love it.
Even a mildly tuned 800cc twin is fine on the highway. Even a 600 is more than enough for highway cruising
Best best best bike I have 2007 with 23;000 miles. Just using full synthetic oil changing oil just after 2;500 miles. That's it nothing more and it looks far bigger than it's original cc. Best acceleration best fuel consumption
He rides a dirt bike but complains of the C50t seat. does not make any sense. i have never been uncomfortable on any motorcycle seat. i hvae never upgraded a seat.
I've never ridden a Suzuki C50 before, but I have had a lot of cruisers over the past several decades, small ones, midsized ones, and large ones, and found them all to be very comfortable. I'm 65, and started riding on the street at 16. I've had over 40 bikes, over 2/3 of them have been cruisers. I like cruisers because they are by far the most comfortable bikes out there. I have ridden about a million miles, including several Iron Butt rides. All of my long distance rides were done on cruisers. I have owned a couple of Goldwings, but they were too much like driving a car to me. I want to be out in the wind. I don't use windshields and didn't like the huge fairings on the Goldwings. I like to sit completely upright, with most of my weight supported by the seat, my knees at close to a 90 degree angle, and a good bend in my elbows. The one thing I absolutely don't want is any of my weight supported by my arms and shoulders, and my neck bent way back to see where I'm going. My favorite midsize cruiser is the Kawasaki Vulcan 750. I have well over 200,000 miles on them. I've had 2 new ones and one used one. They are super comfortable, and, with 66hp, much of it at higher rpms, they do great on the highway. If you are cruising at 70-80 mph on the highway (which is only about halfway to redline) all you have to do is whack the throttle open. They have a great top end rush.
Mine is good and amazing bike to have. To me, it is no 1 second to none.
There is quite a bit of wrong info in this video, not sure if things have changed in 4 years. You must hold the M1 license for 60 days and no longer than 90 days before upgrading to the M2 license
Given this particular topic, this being an old thread really doesn't matter, so I think there is a difference between learning on a 250-300cc and a 500-550cc and it's a major difference. Caveat before we get started, don't buy bikes based on CC, it means nothing at all to the rider and it is no way differentiates one bike from another in an apples to apples way. You want to buy bikes based on Horsepower(top speed you need to run), Torque (how much of the horsepower can be planted into the road right now to make me launch this bike), Weight (do you want to deal with 200 pounds falling on you while your are learning or 1200 pounds), and finally stopping power. This last one doesn't really have a nice neat metric attached to it, so you need to learn about braking system and its associated features like ABS. In 2024 do not buy a new bike what doesn't have ABS if you are a brand new rider. That out of the way, the biggest difference for a brand new rider between a 250cc and a 500cc (ignoring torque) is going to be that the weight of the bike is generally going to double and that will radically affect how well you learn how to ride the bike. Its not even about having to pick it up when it falls over, it is that every single thing about learning how to ride will be orders of magnitude more difficult by starting with a bike that is twice the weight and what happens to many people is they never learn to ride the bike effectively at slow speed, then they end up dropping it, then they put it in the garage and will it to the grand kids. Start with no more than 25 hp/25 nm of torque and less than 450 pounds...preferably with the weight evenly distributed and down low.
